  1. X2. Airless is only good if you are spraying solids or semi-solid.
  2. PWNA Bulletin Board posts

Wouldn't it be wise to have trailers in different parts of the state if fuel is your largest expense each month? I'm a small guy compared to some and I have a trailer 2 1/2 hours away from me.
  3. PWNA Bulletin Board posts

Wow i'm amazed to have come across this from a professional organization. I would like to resign my PWNA membership immediately and would like my money back... Completely Unacceptable!!!
  4. Kbk???????

Last month he wrote me and said he is extremely busy. Relax guys he is swamped full of work. He is a great guy and just got in over his head a little bit.
  5. They probably haven't seen this post. Otherwise I'm sure they would answer. There customer service is great from what i've experienced when using them.

  7. Warning warning

Hey Dan I met you at the CO roundtable. How has business been besides this incident? Don't lose all hope from getting paid. There are some options. If you have a signed agreement with them it will make things a little easier. It's truely a shame that you got burned by her I had a feeling she was this type of person. I know of two other companies she has taken advantage of but not for nearly the amount she has taken you for. When I subcontracted work to them, I paid them before I recieved a dime from the company paying me. Do you think she could have bid the job too low and she may be losing money? She has taken accounts from me by cutting my bid price by half just to get the contract. What a shame...
  8. Downsizing your business for 09??

I'm going to try and not let the countries problem interfere with business. I'm going to get out there and try to sell as if nothing has changed. I will push my business harder and try to increase last year’s profits. I focus on some of the positives. I've heard some buildings are getting washed because the real estate market has plummeted and by doing this it helps the building appraise higher or increases the chances of selling it. Companies are going under. Customers are still in need of our service. They call and hear the number has been disconnected. It’s a perfect time for me to be advertising. I'm adding other services to help keep busy. We will be focusing on Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning. As long as restaurants, fast food, churches, schools etc are still in business and cooking it's the law they clean there kitchen exhaust systems. Property management companies will still have to keep there places clean if they want to keep there tenants happy and future renters wanting to lease there. I just sold a deck job at full price. Customer hired a company last week and they never showed up to do the job and they won't answer the phone now. I gave him my proposal and said that it's more then he wanted to spend and I left. I didn't even offer to do it lower. He called me back this evening and said he want's to get the job scheduled. There still will be customers that would rather pay x amount of dollars and be rest assured the job will be done correctly and on schedule. He knew he could find that by using our company and I believe that's why he called me back. Things are tough right now in our country. It's hit pretty close to rock bottom. Everyone is aware of this and we as a nation are in rebuild mode. This year may not be good but it will get better and I think it will start happening soon.. I think we will see this even this year. It will take a few years to fully recover. Just my thoughts...
  9. The osborne brush can be ran at higher speeds. You need to go slower with the defurring pads. I start out slow with the defurring pads until it wears a little bit and then turn it up a little more. You don't want to turn it up to 5 or 6. Keep it between 2-4 and you should be good. You pretty much just adjust it to whatever your comfortable with.
  10. AC vs. Woodtux

I'm using Bakers Gray Away. I can't justify paying twice as much for Woodrich or WoodTux. Also with our high altitude it even makes WoodTux even more difficult to apply. It's also to difficult to teach the WoodTux learning curve to employees. When prices went up I ordered only a few batches before I decided that It was time to look for another product. Bakers Gray Away looks a whole lot better IMO and I will get a call back sooner for a maintenance coat it's a win win situation. I'm spending less money on products and putting more money in my pocket as well as using a stain that customers are liking the results a whole lot better.
  11. Whatrs it gonna take? Ughhhhh

Acyrilic stains are over rated: YouTube - Colorado ProWash - Deck Restoration - Denver, CO
  12. Here are some deck cleaning and staining pictures we did in June. Enjoy...
  13. I've just been lucky lately. It's out here a lot too.
  14. First you will need the backer pad DeckGuide Pro Center © 2004 - G&K Distributors And when you buy the defelting pads you will get a box of 10. You shouldn't need more than 10. You probably will only use 4 or 5. DeckGuide Pro Center © 2004 - G&K Distributors Not sure about if the backer pad fits the HF Polisher other people have used the HF's so I'm pretty sure it will fit.
  15. Advice on my deck restoration plan

That's a little rude I would say Dan. Atleast he cares enough to do the research and not doing the usual and going to home depot and slapping some Behr stain on it.
  16. Anyone go here much?

I got a $2500 African Mahogany Deck Clean and Stain job from the deckguide that I do every year.
  17. 10 Reasons Why We Love Ready Seal

If the mahogany has aged some you may get two years from it.
  18. 10 Reasons Why We Love Ready Seal

It's not because the stain is failing you. Hardwoods require annual maintenance. Next time you give a bid for a hardwood deck give them a break if they sign an annual maintenance agreement. I have two hardwood decks I do every year both pay really well. Usually these customers are an easy sell because if they can afford such a nice wood they obviously have money to maintain it.
  19. Boosted HD-80

Stay away from Solids unless the customer wants to pay $5.00+ sq/ft. I have a chemical company here that makes me some highly potent stripper that will eat the skin off your body and it won't touch solids. The solids I have taken off, I've had to sand them with a floor sander.
  20. Boosted HD-80

Mixed chemicals lose strength over time. There is no exact time before they go bad. Full strength would only last two or three days.
  21. 10 Reasons Why We Love Ready Seal

Your not doing to bad if you can get a full year out of it on Mahogany. I have some ReadySeal samples Peirce sent to me, I need to give them a try. I just started using Woodrich instead of WoodTux because it's easier to apply. I think it's a bit pricey though.
  22. 10 Reasons Why We Love Ready Seal

Okay Now I'm ready for the Humor ot WoodTux. :lgjump:
  23. I use the downstream injectable stripper from TheProSealerStore. I'm pretty sure it was Behr. http://theprosealerstore.com/powersolvedsi.htm
