Ught-oh's, NO-NO's! and S-C-A-M-S...
squirtgun replied to Aqua Pro's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Yep,$39.95 but they upsell like crazy.I've heard it becomes a forced upsell, bad business. The newest one I noticed in todays paper is "We'll beat any bid by 75% with signed contract". I wish I could bid all of the same jobs before they do.I would bid a whole house washes for $15.Then give the customer this ad and say call them, they can beat my price. Gawd,I hate morons................ -

HUSH Jarrod!!!! You are giving away trade secrets. Doesn't it make you want to kick the morons in the head? $39.00 house wash with the to bullied upsell of everything else.Freakin hacks.............I want to kick them also. -
Jarrod empty your PM's.

Would you buy a PWM t-shirt?This is not the final art work, but it will look somewhat like this.
-
Roger, There are only 3.Jarrod needs his eyes checked. The big guy in the center may bear a striking resemblance to a big, tattooed guy in southwest Georgia.....lol.

Celeste, Call Bob and see if any are available. If not we may be able to put together another run ig there are enough people interested. Mel, I haven't received mine either.

JohnT, In this case it's an hourly employee doing the cleaning.I have witnessed it first hand. That is what prompted me about a year ago to seek the work.As recently as 3 week ago I again tried to explain to the store manager the importance of having it done right. To paraphrase his reply,"I have hourly employees I can & will put out there to get it done."
-
I guess the local Walmart didn't get the memo about the RFB.When we left there today someone had cleaned their sidewalks. The funniest part.............they used a zero degree tip. This is one of the very same store I tried to land over the last year.Instead of hiring a knowledgeable contractor they turn hourly employees lose with a home owner machine and let them vandalize the concrete. I think we all know they won't be looking at the bids with quality in mind. It'll come down to the lowest bid and that is where their entire plan will come apart at the seams.

You forget to take your meds today?
-
Alan, It's all meant in good humor.I have heard good and bad about the way Walmart pays. Probably a 50/50 split. I haven't dealt with them, but it's not for trying. There are 3 with in 20 miles and 1 Sam's Club, all of them pay hourly employees to wash. This ranks right up there with the USPS,Kohl's and Cracker Barrel bids.

Translation: We here at Walmart don't know a thing about pressure washing or the CWA and how it applies to pressure washing flat work.We are really hoping this all works out for the best.By the way we are only willing to pay pennies on the dollar for this contract,so take it or leave it. Further more we will not be held liable for the fines you incur by hauling hazardous waste from our job site.Good luck sucka.By the way we'll pay you when we get good, well and ready and since you don't have any time to service other accounts we now own you..................Nice doing business with you. Please send the promised soul immediately. Thanks

Philip, The post I had made in response to this was eaten some how,but we are thinking along the same lines. It's embarrassing that Americans have forgotten what being an American is. The same people whining about the war now,are the same one that huddled in front of their TV's on 9/11 praying the next plane wouldn't hit their hometown. They are also the same people that demanded action,by our government. They'll be the same group that reap the financial windfalls when we start pulling out of Iraq.War stimulates the economy and they'll be shoveling the cash into their bank account. What a bunch of FISH,flopping all over the place.

Who is going to warranty the product for you of it fails?

We will be on the road for commercial accounts by 6:30 this time of year. This week has been brutal with temps in the upper 20's that early.Usually bythetime we reach the job site the temps have mad eit over 32. I leave the anti freeze in the machine and lines until we get on the job site to keep anything from freezing.

squirtgun replied to Gumlogguy's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Would you be the same Chris Detter that was a former PWNA president and owner Sun Brite in Atl?Judging by the pic on your website Chris Detter`s - Lavonia/Lake Harwell, GA. & SC Real Estate Agent I would say yep it's you. Who were you planing on tripping up? -
Do you believe in Powerwashing Organizations
squirtgun replied to John T's question in The Club House
The PWM is not an organization; it is a group of pressure washing professionals that share the same passion for the pressure cleaning industry. As fellow pressure cleaners we see the need to help each other excel in the industry be it with advice, education or just help each other out. If you share these same values you are a part of us also! PWM 4 LIFE! -

Need help on ugly deck...
squirtgun replied to drush's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
RUN FORREST RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not worth the nightmares it will give you. Ken you are wrong buddy...........I personally have never taken on a painted deck,I'm krazy not stupid.Heck,I won't even touch and unfinished deck anymore unless the HO has some really deep pockets.I do enjoy torturing the HO with the bids though. I bid a deck yesterday that is 3 months old,970 sq ft total and the bid was $2.65 sq ft with a clean and stain. The sweetest words I ever heard came out of the HO mouth."I'm sorry that is more than we want to spend,my painter said he could do it for $300." I did get his house, roof and driveway though. Drush print out Ken's response and slip it in the front cover of your Bible. It's wood restoration gospel. -
You ca get the muck boots at Tractor Supply. Georgia Boots makes one with aleather upper called Mud Dawgs that are also great.A little on the heavy side, but I have been in water to my lower calf and never got my feet wet.I retired mine this past summer 8yrs old and still water proof.

Russ can give you some help. The guy is a fountain of pressure washer repair knowledge. He has talked me through rewiring a burnt up harness and many other things.I have called him more times that I can count to seek advice and he always gives me the info I need to get things up and running. I think I need to send him a 6 pack or something for all of the harassment he gets from me....lol.Russ I got a fuel pump locally everything is up and running like it should be.Thanks buddy, you rock.

We draw all the freaks when on a job more than anywhere else.Everythig from I need gas to my kid needs diapers(yeah at 2am you decided to go buy diapers).I tell them I was hoping they were going to give me money so I didn't have to work at 2am.Then tell them I guess we are both broke. I did ask one guy what he would use the money for and he actually said to buy a beer.Since he was honest I gave him $2.

LOL.......I'm not sure Roger will want to pay the S&H to the UK.It would be cool to have the t-shirts across the pond.WE'll see.
