Cat pumps are much more expensive that general,AR, or comet.That would explain the price difference. I would go with the general pump since parts are easy to find and less exepnsive than cat.

Has anyone ever used thw heat tape made for keeping water pipes from freezing as a way to keep your pump and coil from freezing?I went through a lot of anti-freeze last year and used a 500 watt halogen light to keep everything from freezing. I have been looking for something I could leave on the machine all the time during the winter and the heat tape would fit the bill. Comments?Suggestion?
