  1. 500' dock

Careful Shane someone might take that as selfless advertising.I mean you wouldn't want anyone throwing rotten Apples at you.
  2. Are you a Democrat, Republican or Redneck?

She didn't place in the pageant, but had a good time. Her team will be in the state fastpitch softball play-offs this weekend.Currently in 4th in their region after last weekend.
  3. Are you a Democrat, Republican or Redneck?

I fall under redneck also, but ya'll knew that.
  4. Tonight we got on a job only to find the machine that ran fine 2 days ago will not start.I quickly made way to the closest parts store and had the battery checked,as well as,giving all wires a good visual. The battery was perfect and we were able to start the machine by crossing the posts on the solenoid. So the next step was to purchase a new ignition switch. In a hurry to install the switch and get back on the job I forgot to unhook the battery and burned a wire running from the switch to the solenoid.Lots of pretty white smoke and that wonderful cooked wire smell filled the air. So now my question......Can I just cut out the 1 wire and replace? Or..............Do I need to replace the entire harness from the switch to the solenoid? I'm still not 100% positive it's the switch.I had to reschedule the work and may have to reschedule some fleet work this weekend if I don't get this fixed quick. 2 things I learned from this 1. Always,Always remember to unhook the battery before working on the machine. 2.Always,Always, and I do mean Always make sure the machine starts before leaving the house.
  5. We cleaned a house a couple of years ago that had a similar problem. There was black mold growth under the paint.I threw everything I had on the trailer at it doing test spots to no avail.I even called a couple of chemical suppliers in the industry who felt as though I had done everythig I could. I hate admitting defeat, but this is one we walked away from. The customer wasn't happy and even less pleased when I refused to be paid for not getting their house clean.
  6. Weapons for protection

Ant, Somehow I knew you would be the guy that understood.
  7. Weapons for protection

I can pepper spray him, then throw few 290 lbs elbow drops on him before polishing my steel toes boots on his head and rib cage. I'm fully aware of what a gun can do and am prepared to deal with the emotional aftermath. No guilt for taking another life it comes down to me,my wife the kids or them.I can make my peace with my maker when I die.
  8. Weapons for protection

I'm by no means saying "kill them all and let God sort them out".They can have the rig and truck, but when it comes down to mine or my wifes safety I am prepared to shoot if I take the gun from the holster. 2 times in the last 10 yrs I have pointed the barrel of handgun a at a would be assailant with every intention of killing them. Both times the tables turned and both parties ran faster than most olympic sprinters. Oh and I don't want to hear;"Would you really have killed someone?"The answer is yes. There is no such thing as shoot to wound them, even law enforcement are taught to shoot for the vital organs(chest & stomach).
  9. Weapons for protection

I carry a .380,small concealable and still packs a punch. We have been approached more that once and usually my size is deterent enough. In Ga.the new laws allow you to protect yourself, family and property anywhere.
  10. coil removal

Don, Isn't this always the case? I'm constantly amazed how people spin the story instead of telling the entire truth.
  11. Does any of this surprise any of you?I made these same observations numerous times over the last several years, only to be labeled a conspiracy theorist and crazy(which by the way I have never denied, you guys just can't prove it). This stuff comes full circle every year or so and the membership gets up in arms. Then by some divine intervention(likely some ego stroking,a PWNA coffee cup, logo decal and maybe a new PWNA T-shirt) the ones that are complaining the loudest all of the sudden jump back on the band wagon and all is good. There is an easy solution to the problem.Stop paying your hard earned money to people you all apparently do not trust.Time and again you as members have proven to yourselves that there is something foul in Demark.
  12. dealing with child injury

Oh yeah, titanium implant at c-4/c-5 in my neck 4 yrs ago.
  13. dealing with child injury

You sure we arent related Scott? Broke nose 6 times,8 fingers,4 tarsals, both eyes sockets(2 different occassions),Hair line fractures to upper and lower jaw(2 seperate occassions).Left thumb servered and reattached, both hands behind the fingers and right arm.Countless sprains, bruises and abrasions.
  14. dealing with child injury

Daddy,Angela watch! As we turn from the counter at burger king to see my 5 yr old son do a complete flip over the hand rail and face plant into the floor. It took Me lying full body across him,Angela and nurse holding to hold his arm to get the 3 stitches in,but all was good after that. He is fearless and I know someday it will stress me out as much as I stressed my parents out with my stunts.
  15. Whats on this garage door???

It looks like they used WD-40 or the like to lubricate the springs and it dripped like crazy.A very mild degreaser should clean it.
  16. This summer is slow...

Yeah licensing isn't hard to get.Except mine runs about $135 a yrs. I also use the fact that we are insured as a selling point.Nope it doesn't seem to matter to the vast majority of customers I meet. I have never been asked if I'm certified. Not once.I did have my beagle pass the Wolmans test for me and my wife but people just don't care if we have a piece of paper. That is where I take my chance to sell them my knowledge an skill. Does it always work?Nope Why doesn't it work. They were price shopping from the get go or they just don't care. If cert's and stricter licensing become something that is required.Who sets the standards?Does anyone get grandfathered in?Who certifies the certifiers? I have submitted bids this year that were compared to bids written on notebook paper and written in pencil. It's a cycle that will never change no matter how hard we try. Why?because like anything else there isn't enough man power by licensing or certifying agencies to police the standards. I know a large part of our slow down this summer has been strict water restrictions set by the state. They don't have any impact on our businesses, but homeowners seem to think it does. Some have even expressed fears that their neighbors will call the police on them if they have us do work right now.I try to schedule cleaning on the same days they can water to help combat their fears. This is a perfect example of how an agency(in this case the state of Ga) can not get the entire message out to the public.is it lack of man power or ignorance I don't know, but it has affected the bottom line this year.
  17. This summer is slow...

We have beat the horse to death on Cert's,Org's and licensing in the past. Are we going to beat the cow now? Licensing to be in business is a requirement in most cities I know of.We all know insurance is a must, but there are those whom choose to forge ahead without it.God bless them. However, requiring Cert's means even more govenment invasion(state or federal) into our businesses and I don't feel it will stop to lowballer hacks who destroy other peoples properties. I agree education is the key,but if we rely on the government or Org's to get the massage to the public we will wait a very long time to see it happen. We are in the position to teach every person we come in contact with that there is a difference between the splash/dash and experienced companies who have the proper knowledge and equipment to the job in the proper fashion.
  18. The Competition

I enjoy the guys who have something special they are trying to pedal.WE have a local guy who runs a 30 second business spot light every couple of months,Who claims to be environmentally friendly. What makes them environementally friendly?Well,I'm glad you asked. They put all of their chemicals into their 225 gallon tank and spray it on your home.Yes,You heard it they intentionally run chlorine through their pump to work a lame angle. In addition to that they only use 220 degree hotwater to clean every surface of your home and they will beat another companies price by 25%.
  19. Suggestions on which HOT PW to purchase

We have a Largo machine. They also make the MSI line of equipment. We have been very pleased with the performance and reliability. http://www.mobileclean.com/hotwaterskid.html
  20. Stolen gas

4 or five cans of octane 101(octane booster)added to gallon of gas will kill and engine quick.Oh,it will run great until all that octane booster hits in one large shot. Then it's hello burnt pistons and rings, followed shortly by a seized engine.
  21. Stolen gas

    Release the hounds.............
  22. Stolen gas

Mike, Video holds up in court.Especially if you can get a good view of their face.Petty theft is not the stiffest charge, but it will cost someone bail money and several days lost pay in and out of court.
  23. Two thumbs up for Talladega Nights!

Here is the chance to get the race car from the movie. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TALLADEGA-NIGHTS-RICKY-BOBBY-FERRELL-26-RACE-CAR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ98061QQihZ012QQitemZ220014658117QQrdZ1
  24. Two thumbs up for Talladega Nights!

I also hate clowns. There is just something evil and unnatural about them I can't put my finger on. Jon, Ronald Reagan the actor and Ronald Reagan the president were the same guy.
  25. Am I using the surface cleaner the right way ?

Tom, It was doing exactly as it was designed to do.Rinsing is part of the package after using a surace cleaner.
