squirtgun replied to clean kentucky's question in Residential Pressure Washing

I have reason to suspect I may be diabetic after doing some research online. Not to mention my mother was and dad is boderline. What prompted you to get checked?
-
I guess it's time to get checked.I am always thirsty, tired, pee frequently.I also have numbness in my hands and on occassion my feet.I have been having lots of problems with my heels lately.I have dry mouth often and several times a day I have a sugary taste in my mouth. Diabetes contributed to my mothers death last year and my dad takes some kind of pill daily for his.I've lost 27 pounds in the last couple months(literally fell off without trying) but, could stand to lose 50+ more.

We also bid them at $350,Javier told me at that time $250 was as high as they were willing to go.I haven't heard anything for a couple of weeks,

18" whirl a way problems
squirtgun replied to JBenson's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
No need for a complete rebuild. It needs a new o-ring on the top of the rotary unit.Pretty easy fix I have done it a couple of times on ours.Call Sun Brite(ATL) and tell Tracy you need the small o-ring for the top of the spinner unit. They are a BE supply dealer and the only place I have found that you can get the parts from quickly. They are small, but when they fail they cause alot of headaches. You'll need some allen wreches and a pair of snap ring pliers. -

Let's pick a location for the Grime Scene Round Table
squirtgun replied to Beth n Rod's question in The Club House
Ya'll just come to small town Ga.We'll throw a hog on the grill, boil some peanuts and watch the grass grow. -
18' would fall under an hourly charge(this size do not take excessive time). You have to remember that it's a different kind of cleaning than pressure washing and we have found that the hourly rate is not the same.In our area we can manage $45 - $50 and hour for smaller awnings.

Ride alongs? I thought Russ did drive by foamings.....lol.
-
The areas included are front porch w/3 small walks(they move chairs),dumpster pad +10ft and 15x15 area @ backdoor. There isn'ta lot of sq ft but the price is low.I have given them my prie per location for 3 stores now we wait to see if they accept.

I have spoken with Javier several times. This is a nation wide contract and they are seeking companies to pressure washing in every state. They require a minimum of 3000psi, hot water and use of a surface cleaner.

True Confessions: I am a baby killer :(
squirtgun replied to Scott Stone's question in The Club House
Scott has turned into a serial bird killer.I bet the FBI is racking their brains trying to profile that one. -
Growing up OP folks were fine as long as they didn't cross the river....lol.Op was starting to boom when I moved to Ga.Places that were trees and fields growing up are now strip mall, schools and houses. The growth in unreal to say the least. I grew up in Jax....my dad and sisters still live in the Ft. Caroline area.I moved to smallville Ga. in 1991 and have no intentions of moving back to the big city.Yes,it's 18 miles to the malls and nicer restaurants(east or west),but rush hour is only as long as it takes to pass a peanut or cotton picker on the highway. I do enjoy going home to visit, but a week is all I can take anymore.

Question on 2 and 3 story decks
squirtgun replied to Cleaner Image's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
What extra measures did the lead paint removal require? -
Suck it up! Get on the phone ASAP to set up a time to clean the window. It is what it is...a dirty window that takes away from the rest of the job you did. Do you want referrals from this guy because you had great customer service..or...do you want negative word of mouth to spread about the dirty window you left?

Paintballs are made entirely of food grade products(yes you can eat them) and as stated by Russ it should wash off with rain or plain water.

Mahogany doors??
squirtgun replied to CB works's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Yes Sir you gotz sum mitee purty, firnitur graded MOHogOnay doors there. $900+ to strip, step sand from 120 to 220,stain(gel stains rock for furniture) and cabinetry) and varnish(if these were interior doors they would get sealed, sanded and laquered x 3).Lots of man hours and detail work.Multiple trips to job site etc. etc. If you aren't sure you can handle the refinishing of the doors walk away.......BUT...if you can......Charge accordingly and don't worry about other possible work. -
I keep a soap nozzle in my pocket for PITA customers. If I see them coming I pop it in and give the wand a swing in their direction.I've haven't soaked anyone yet.however, there have been some close calls.

Presenting estimates

I just write them out on a roll of 2-ply toilet paper I keep in the truck.I slip a piece of carbon between the plies so they get a copy and I get a copy.Bigger bids will use up an entire roll on occasion. -
Bob, You shoot em,you eat em.
