They will raise a nice sized welt on you.Poisonous only if you are allergic, most bite victims(very rarely they bite) experience pain in the bite area, the welt and pain go away in a few days. Just one damn big bug I don't want on me....lol. Cujo, A buddy in Iraq emailed me that picture a while back.Had to change my underwear after I opened the attachment....lol.Camel spiders and they are huge, thank God there are 2 in the pic,if it were 1 big spider there isn't enough Raid in the world.......:lgbounces

How much for a decent starter rig?
squirtgun replied to Craig Fordham's question in Residential Pressure Washing
http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3538 Don has this rig for sale. It's a good price for all that it comes with. -
Jason, Most in the south refer to those as Banana Spiders, they buld huge elaborate webs. Nothing like walking into one at 5AM(wrapping around your face and head) on the way to a favorite deer hunting spot. Can you imagine seeing a 295 pound man run through the woods with bow and climbing stand on his back, screaming like a girl. The only source of light a mini mag light? It ain't pretty nor funny when you have a huge fear of spiders. You can also be assured that every deer in the woods left the minute the heard the girly scream.

Adrian, You don't have to buy an expensive unit to reclaim.Don't be scared into buying a unit that you can't afford.Berms, sump pumps and filters can get you started. Also,if you can put the water in a sanitarty sewer after filtering you don't have the worry of hauling water. Alan will be the first to tell you reclaim doesn't have to be expensive. He's in Cali and deals with stricter reclaim laws than most of us.Call your water district and see what they require for you to dump in the sanitary sewer system(i.e how filtered do they want the water).

When we had flooding from Dennis here a fews months ago,It affected about 100 low income homes. Most of the occupants gutted their houses before they ever knew if they were going to get some kind of assistance from the local, state or federal goverments. They figured they were all going to draw a big fat check. They threw out things that never got wet.Bedding, mirrirs, pictures, ceiling fans etc. Then to the dismay of most, since they were renters with no insurance they received about $1000 from the government agencies. Not nearly the value of the things they threw away that weren't damaged by the flood waters. They also received help from the Red Cross in the way of food, water and cleaning supplies and complained when they shut down the aid center after 2 weeks. I'm with Mike, some not all,low income people feel they are supposed to be supported by the system. In Ga. there can no longer be lifers on assistance, they have 3 yrs to get an education(paid for by the state if they choose) or find a job. After 3 yrs they can no longer draw benefits.

Easy guys,it's not a full moon yet. Everyone go to a neutral corner and take a valium.

What the hell is this about?I don't think the 1st post had anything to do with politics.Let's keep it that way.

Ken, Not all Habitat homeowners take care of the place they get. There have been a few in our area that have burned their own homes to collect on insurance. One was shut down because they were using it for a Meth lab. I have worked on about a dozen Habitat homes(building cabinets, framing walls)and the only time the future homeowner ever showed their face was to get the keys. The time they are supposed to put in doesn't have to be on their home and it isn't always the sweat equity they talk about. Habitat's headquarters is about 45 minutes north of us.Now that the Fuller's are no longer with them I don't know what the future holds for that Org.

Since they have lifted the EPA restrictions and gas taxes for the next month.Gas should cost the stations less $$$ from their suppliers which should mean less cost at the pump for the consumer. This is a temporay measure to insure that the citizens of the state have a supply of gas to buy.If they are buying the gas available they are also buying beer, cokes, cigarettes.lotto tickets etc.So as an end result everyone gets a benefit from the temporary measure, store owners and consumer alike. There are some stations out of at least one grade of gas/or are only ordering the lower grades, but they do have gas and people are still buying. We haven't seen any stations that have mile long lines or completely out of gas for more than a few hours.

I think in the state of GA. our govenor decided what was fair.

Cujo, I have been thanking God a lot(I do daily, even before the hurricame).Lately I have been asking God give these people the faith and strength to rebuild their lives. We dropped of diapers and food at a local collection point today and will as often as we have the extra money to do it.We may not have everything we want in our lives but God does provide us with all we need,so in exchange we will always try to help others who need it. I applaude you and Pam for giving of yourselves to help out.

Jon, I read that no offers of aid are being declined. They are asking for some of the nations that have offered help to wait until later in the recovery. Sri Lanka has pledged $500 million in aid, other countries are flying in plane loads of huge pumps and water purification unit to get people clean water supplies.Israel has pledged their mobile hospitals, doctors and expert in building temporay shelters. For the first time in history the world is offering aid for the US.We have bailed so many out in the past,I guess the figure they are way over due to extend the helping hand. There are a great many unskilled, below poverty people in my community now(just a couple of blocks away)so I wouldn't really notice anything different.

This has some pretty bad language, but it's an enlightening point of view. Turn up your speakers. http://www.flashplayer.com/animation/foamyhurricanekatrinareport_movie.php

JeffW, The reporters may have been doing their jobs, but I think there were opportunities for them to report it better.I have seen news crews pump up crowds to get good on camera footage and I think some of that may have taken place in New Orleans. Why has there been limited coverage from Miss. and Al.?These people were hit just as hard, but because the mayor of New Orleans has been so outspoken the news media has almost exclusively covered N.O.I also notice the mayor of N.O hasn't stepped up to accept his share of the blame for poor emergency planning on his cities part. Also,You only see on the news what they want you to see. It's a TV show like any other, they edit out what they feel will not increase ratings.Have you ever noticed how fast they plater pics of civilians Iraqies that were killed by US airstikes? They fail to show our soldiers digging wells, building schools and passing out food.If they report the news honestly without adding to it by slanting the viewpoint it's fine with me. I think there are a lot of credible news people who have helped cover this, and to those who have used their spot in front of a camera to further their career or personal agenda I hope you get yours when you meet your maker. Keep in mind no matter who is covering this they will never be able to put into words the amount of destruction.I don't even think pictures show nearly as much as what is there.I pray for all effected daily it's all I can do along with a donation to a charity that can help the people of the gulfs states begin to recover from this tragedy.

Someone posted it over on the NAPC site. It's kind of harsh, but there are volumes of truth in it.

Scott, Bill HUnter and his family are safe. They made it out before the storm hit, they are in Houston at his sisters house.Their home didn't suffer any major damages, but his neighbors were all hit pretty hard.He was heading back to L.A on saturday morning to give a hand to the neighbors. Happy to hear you have made it through. We are all praying for everyone in the gulf states. This is the post Bill made on TCN last night. Katrina Update -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, I was offshore when this storm entered the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). We evacuated last Sunday. After getting off the helicopter, I hauled ass home (about 4 hours) to get the family ready. We left the next morning headed for Houston to my sisters house. We are still here & finally found out today that my house was spared, but lots & lots of trees in my neighborhood are down. I live about 35 miles north of downtown New Orleans. We don't have power, looks like it could be weeks before we get it......but I am LUCKY. I beg all of you to PLEASE do what you can to help the people in New Orleans, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, & all the people in our country that have been affected by this catastrophe. The magnitude of Katrina will be felt by all of us. Katrina is the single largest catastrophe in the U.S. By the time all is said & done, thousands will have died, many others will have lost everything that they own. I have seen all of the video footage on the looting, heard the stories of all the other crimes. All I will say is that these people will meet their match one day. I don't know when I will be back on here, so thanks for your concern. I am headed home in the morning, going to help the neighbors out. Talk to ya'll later __________________ Bill Hunter Supreme Clean Pressure Washing (985) 246-9665

They all think we invaded Iraq in a day so the Fed's should have been faster to respond. They miss the fact there were months of preperation to move into Iraq(staging equipment etc). Hurricanes nor any other natural disaster care about race. They effect all in the area they strike.90,000 sq miles of damage and they think New Orleans was the only place that wasn't getting aid. I guess they have already forgotten about the 4000+ lives saved by Coast Guard helicopter crews.GREAT JOB GUYS/GIRLS!!!!!!you are true heros.I hope those you saved are as grateful as I am for what you are doing. The mayor of New Orleans is passing the buck to the the state and federal level. He ordered a mandantory evacuation and didn't bother enforcing it.He dropped the ball as did officials on the state level In L.A. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton both need to sit down and shut the f*%$ up.Neither one has a clue what the people who live in the gulf states are going through. They were both sitting in their multi-million dollar mansions far away from this tragedy when it happened.

You will never hear me complain about my SUV,with 5 children between my wife and I,it's a must, not a luxury. We don't drink beer,so that is extra money for smokeless tobacco and Diet Moutain Dews.As a general rule we don't make wasted trips when we are out we try to handle as many tasks as we can. We rarely do the dinner out thing. The bill for 7 people will make you pass out.....lol. I understand the station owners point of view to a degree. However, double or triple the normal profit under current circumstances is ^&%^$# up.

Jason, Thanks for the link,it's refreshing to know what I was lead to believe isn't true. Phillip. It has been that long ago we donate our time and equipment in our town to those who's homes were flooded when the remnants of Denise came through.Late last year we filled our tank and headed to a local town that was without water for over 2 weeks(1 trip a day until their water was restored.).Numerous mystery house washes we do for the elderly, whom have no idea who did the work.We knew there were needs and stepped up to meet them. NOT one penny profit was made, not one job has come of doing any of it, and I could careless .We did it because we wanted to help our fellow man. We have made our donation to help with what is happening in the gulf states. We are asking our customers to help with a donation in exchange we give them a discount. Hey Ken the new logo looks great.

Jason, The area you bolded in my post, was told to me by an immigrant of this particular nationality. He currently owns 3 hotels and 6 convienence stores so I figured he knew what he was talking about.

Once a decade? I think the folks in Florida would beg to differ with the frequency you think hurricames hit. As for who is working the hotels, most not all live in them(the hotel) with 13 of their relatives. They are allowed to enter the US with all the gold they can carry on their bodies.AND our Govt, gives them a $10k business grant(not a loan a grant),they also don't pay taxes for 5yrs,so every 5 yrs they bring over a new relative to put the business name in to aviod taxes. They spend almost $0 in the communities they live in(if they do business with other in their community they think they are entitled to a lower rate than anyone else) and then the greedy %^&%^& &*O^ break the law by jacking prices up(you live in Ga.you know state law doesn't allow room rate hike during an evac). They are making plenty of $$$ by having full rooms that would normally be empty. If someone tried sell me a $100 sheet of plywood and I would tell them in just a few words where to put it. For those who think that price gouging under current circumstances isn't wrong.Let me come bulldoze your house, take your equipment, make sure you have no fulltime job to go to(if you do PWing parttime),let me skim your checking account, put you, your wife and kids in the car, make you to drive 10 hr,force you to pay triple the normal rate to put a roof over your head, and raise your fuel cost by over a $1 a gallon. Then we can see how feel about price gouging.
-
We found gas this evening for $2.61/89 octane(they ran out of regular,$2.51 a gallon,at 9pm) the stations owner says he won't take advantage of people and will abide by the state of Ga. gouging law.He says he has a consistant supply and that there are no long term shortages and would have regular again at 5am.The gouging law in Ga. enacted today will not allow stations to sell gas for more of a profit per gallon than they did last week. The state of Ga. has inspectors and sheriffs Dept's out checking stations and they are writing citations.I think I read it's $2000 per offense(i.e. 30 cars filling up at a higher profit than the station made last week means a $60,000 fine).

I don't have a problem with anyone making a profit. I do have a problem with people who take advantage of their fellow man in a bad situation. Raising hotel room prices by double or triple during a mandantory evacuation is taking advantage.Raising gas price to compensate for not selling beer and lotto tickets is taking advantage. Put yourself in the situation the people fleeing the storm are in.Would you want to pay $199 a night for a week or maybe more for a hotel room that normally costs $65 a night? Now top that off with some moron who isn't selling as much in beer and lotto tickets than usual,so they raise their gas prices to $8 a gallon to compensate(don't forget they didn't pay $8 a gallon for it).Now add in food costs to feed the wife and kids.Oh, and let us not forget when you get back to where you came from, your home is gone and likely your employer is not going to be in business either. How would like you like to be price gouged? If you worked a job making $9 an hr could you afford to be price gouged?Face facts not a lot of people can continue to make ends meet without a pay increase and their employers aren't going to do that.Minimum wage in Ga. is $5.15 hr and there are more people working in those positions than the $15 to $20 hr jobs. If we raised our prices by 50% because of gas prices people would quit calling. We had a price increase at the beginning of the month(1st in 2yrs) of 15% due to higher costs for supplies, parts and gas.Not something I wanted to do,but since we skipped the normal 5%+ increase that most businesses make every year we needed to. Right is right and wrong is wrong.Profit and free enterprise have nothing to do with greedy scumbags.
