  1. Personally I want to thank you Scott Stone for being the moral and ethical compass of BBSland.Since resigning as a moderator from both TGS and *** my cell phone rings much less and I have been able to focus on my business, marketing and my family.

I think these sites are a great tool and hope they continue to thrive as such. The one thing I would like to see is the "Ivory Tower Syndrome" come to an end.

Many act as though they are without transgression, but none of us are perfect and we have all over reacted to something or someone on the internet in the past. There is dirty laundry everywhere on these sites if one chooses to dig deep enought to find it.

Good, bad or ugly we will never all get along. There is no perfect world unfortunately.

  2. In recent days Admin of TGS asked that staff step up and help better control the chaos that often occurs on the site.

A couple of days ago a member here at TGS attacked a reputable distributor and a piece of equipment he sells without any working knowledge of the product. The claim of using similar components may hold water to some, but not with me.If you haven't used the equipment in question you simply can not give an honest evaluation.

I interjected my opinion in the thread while trying not to allow my friendship with this distributor to grossly skew my comments.I should have known better, but being a moderator I wanted to do my best to steer the thread away from propaganda that very well could damage a distributors spotless reputation.

Because if my willingness to try and head off what I saw turning into a negative thread I now stand accused of stirring the pot. That perceive pot stir bought me an infraction today. One I don't feel I deserved.

One member does not a BBS make. One members 2500 post with a great number of those containing plagiarized scientific material shouldn't be a trade off for making moderators doubt anything they do in the name of keeping the peace.

Time and again the member in question has proved he can not get along with others in BBS forums being banned from many of them that relate to pressure washing and roof cleaning.Yet they are allowed to remain on TGS as staff and other members are alienated.

In light of the events of recent days I ask that Admin remove my moderator status and return my account back to regular member status. It's time for a change of scenery and the view from the members side doesn't look so bad.

I wish the moderators and Admin the best of luck.

  3. We get a few crack pots a year. The most memorable is a local attorney who is chemically sensitive.

We cleaned his roof a few years ago and he swore up and down if he could smell the chems he was going to sue me for everything we owned.Poor guy just didnt realize we didn't have anything to get at the time....hahahahaha.

I did the job late afternoon and he pulled up as we were winding up hoses. My wife comes around the trailer with a silly grin on her face and points to the side of the house were the fruit cake is on his hands and knees sniffing the ground around the house.

Mind you the ground is wet from all the plant watering and rinsing that has taken place. When he sees me looking he promptly jumps to his feet and marches over to me with his pants all wet and muddy and says "great job on the odor, now what are you going to do about these pants" Suppressing my laughter I told him I could rinse him off with the machine if he wanted. He declined and and dared me to try and get my money.............LMAO at this point becuase his wife has already paid us.................in cash.Hahahahahahahahahhahahahaha.

Don't let the freaks and fruits drag you down they are valuable learning tools. There are those whom teach us not to take certain jobs and those whom we as contractors must guide along to show them we do know our jobs. Then there are those who just need to be told where to get off.

  4. I went there and I was calm, Scott. I took a bunch of photos - and found evidence of massive roof leaks into the eave/soffit areas - and eventually exploding out from the back sides of the top rows of clapboards. I wrote a detailed synopsis for him - included a photo with pictures of his home and some close ups detailing what I mean. As well photos from another home taken last winter detailing icicles coming out of soffit vents and from behind the clapboards discolored with tannins - as a better visual of what's going on with his home. And a recomendation that they contact a roofing expert and have their roof replaced along with water proofing membrane installed along the bottom of their roof.

If you have gone to all that trouble there is little hope you can please them.

If you offered any kind of warranty on the paint they might have a legit complaint, but usually the warranty is through the manufacturer and it sounds like the prep was way beyond what most companies would offer.

At this point if it were me I would offer to wash the house at no cost to the HO this one time only and tell them any cleaning in the future will cost them $???.?? I would also try to steer them toward a yearly maint. cleaning to prevent the regrowth.I would continue to stress getting the roof fixed.

In the end I still don't think they will be happy, but I feel this will be your best compromise.

  5. Next couple month should be good for getting an 08' at steep discount. What would be entry level Ford with a small deisel and like what msrp would it be?

Am I gonna have to go over 25k after incentive or is there something down more in the 20k range? I just know with some brand the incentives off certain times of the year when new ones are on way in equal out to as high as 12k off a 20k truck so how about Ford?

There is no SMALL ford diesel. The 08's- 09's have a 6.4L with 350HP and 650 foot pounds of torque from the factory.

  6. This beauty joined my extended family today thumbsup.gif

I talked my father-in-law into buying a 2005 F250 Lariat 2 wheel drive 6.0L turbo diesel. He got the truck for about $9k less than current retail listed on Kelly Blue Book. The second pic is it sitting next to my 2003 F250 Lariat 4x4 6.0L turbo diesel.

  7. Sorry ... but it's not funny if you are driving like that around the town and doing this to old ppl and little kids ... Just my opinion ...

Kind of depends on which side of the horn you are on,but we are all entitled to our opinions.

  8. Well, I thiught it was funny. Guess I'm a little simple :)

I think it's down right funny.I have been begging the wife to let me put train horns on my F250 since the day I bought it.

I think she is on board now,but they aren't cheap so I'm saving my allowance until I have enough $$$.

  9. I think that it is sad that this is even a point of discussion. Why is it the situation is so dire that it even needs to be a topic of discussion of whether teachers should carry guns? It would seem that if parents were taking the time to raise their kids, and to teach them to be obedient, that most of the problems would be resolved. Any more, the kids are asserting rights that, legally, they do not have.

Parents want their kids to have all the rights, and refuse to teach them the responsibilities that come with the rights.

To much sparing the rod and spoiling the child now days.If you do give them a good old fashioned spanking they have been taught at school to call child welfare on you.

My kids live 20 miles away, they know if need be their mother can call me to disipline them. I will come to where they are if they can't act like they have been taught manners or respect and remind them.I have yet to make that trip since the day I had that discussion with them.

  10. I carry and have daily for about 17yrs.

If you remember a few months ago I had a crackhead try to hold me up.He was armed with a pair of needle nose pliers. My 380 was a good deterent and may have prevented me from getting stabbed with pliers that had been God know where.

  11. That's probably for a blue cat. Channel cats don't get nearly as big as blues or flatheads.

    Thad he's in Tn.

If you have never fished in TVA owned water you might be surprised just how big the fish are.I have seen bass with double gills in a couple of TVA lakes.
