  1. it takes a lot to get banned bfrom Bobs board .... wait , no one has ever been banned ..... till NOW !

Good luck Joe and welcome , sign in at *** ..... I WILL LET YA IN THERE

Actually I think he is the second person to be banned.I believe Ken's old pal TB was kicked out as well.

  2. Personally, it pisses me off no end to see a 20% - 25% fuel surcharge on freight bills coming to me, but what choice do I have? Drive hundreds of miles to pick up my merchandise? Trucking companies and carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.) have a captive clientelle. It would be better, IMO, to add to the price of the job instead of denoting a "fuel surcharge".

Russ I agree that a separate charge isn't the best way to reflect a cost increase for our industry.

One of my customers was telling me their trash company is getting $75 extra per stop in fuel charges .The last time I cleaned their property I watch the truck go down the row of 30 or so businesses in a matter 15-20 minutes emptying dumpster and started thing someone was getting robbed.

I have a cost increase of 6% annually clause built into the service agreement we use,but it seems as thought that 6% may not be enough if the oil companies have their way.

  3. I just looked up this link and did some math - in the year 2008 under Bush according to this site - a single person making 30k would have to pay

$4098.75 not $4,500! And under Clinton the same 30k would have to pay

$4952.50 not $8,400! The difference isn't that much - and totally ignores the fact that different deductions and such lead to different Adjusted Gross incomes - I remember my salaries under clinton making 50k+ - My total taxes of Federal, State, Fica, and Medicare never amounted to more than 28% of my initial total gross income - so this chart is at best irrelevent. And at worse serves to demonstrate that you republican ********** that visit this board have your heads so far stuck up your ****** - that you don't even realize that when your salary is taxed - the WHOLE amount is not taxed at the highest tax bracket that you are in!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first 10 grand of your money is taxed the same if you make 10 grand, 20 grand or a million!

Man I can't wait for the next Democratic president to free me and my democratic brothers from this idiotic republican fantasy world.

    Daniel,

You need to lighten up a little. In the last week you have been insulting to others with less than friendly language. So much so that it has been brought to the attention of the mods.

If you feel the need to continue with you barrage of name calling and cuss words your posts will be moved from public view.

  4. When we do commercial concrete we downstream all of our chems.A couple of weeks ago we lost out hot water capablities when using the downstreamer.

I can apply chems then switch over to the sufae cleaner or wands and the hot water kicks back in.I adjusted the flow switch last week and had hot wtater while downstreaming, but it has stopped again.

Is it time for yet another flow switch or am I missing something else?

  5. Angela's oldest daughter went into labor late Monday and yesterday we became grand parents to twin little girls.Mom and babies are doing great.

Kylee was born at 5:31pm was 5lbs 6oz and Rylie was born at 5:56pm and weighed 4lbs 15oz. (they are 5 week premature and doing much better than the doctor had anticipated)

I will post pics as soon as I get them.I haven't been able to go hold them due to a cold.

  6. Did you all notice how I managed to stay out of this conversation? Did you all know that my wifes maiden name is Castillo? Did you all know that I only employed one hispanic worker until last week when he managed to get fired? (Beth knows that story, and it is actually kind of funny and very well deserved)

That being said, I am absolutely opposed to illegal immigration. I tried using Hispanic workers, mostly Mexicans, and they just did not work out for me. They could not have a drivers license here, so that they could not legally drive. The language barrier was untenable, and they would quite often totally rip me off in performing their assigned jobs for the day. (did you know that it can take up to 3 hours to drive two miles to a job?) I do not employ anyone of questionable legal status anymore. As much as I would like to, I do not think that there is anyway feasible way that they can be returned home to their native countries. It would be horrendously expensive, and would take decades. What we could do is make it increasingly difficult to send their money home, etc.

So, if I was president here is what I would do, and mind you, I am thinking of this on the fly and it is not perfectly thought out.

    1. Any money sent to a foreign nation by a Non US citizen, including foreign corporations would be taxed at a 50% tax rate. Anyone caught sending the money and not collecting the tax would have to pay the tax on all money, whether it was previously taxed or not, at a rate of 25%. For collecting the tax, the company would be able to keep 10% of any taxes they collect to cover their expenses.

    2. Anyone that is caught working or employing people with forged documentation would go to prison for 6 months of each violation. If they are a foreign national, they would be returned to their home country. If they are caught again, it is their second violation and would require a 12 month sentence, 3rd violation an 18 month sentence.

    3. Any medical care that they seek would be paid for by the federal government, and deducted from any assistance that the US federal government gives to their native country. If no assistance is given to their native country, then it is deducted from any trade that they conduct.

    4. Any Foreign national would be required to have a drivers license to drive and would be returned home at their own expense if caught without a US drivers license.

    5. They would be required, within 5 years, to purchase a home on american soil. This way they would have a vested interest in the American Dream.

    6. Any employer that is caught not collecting taxes on Foreign nationals would have a complete audit on their books, and have to pay 20% on any income taxes not paid.

    7. Any foreign national would be able to keep whatever money they have paid into social security and have it paid out to them upon retirement, no earlier than the statutory time, until they run out of money.

    8. They must have basic english skills within 2 years of arrival or start of their first employment. It can be done without an education.

But we would otherwise welcome them with open arms...

I would add to #5 by requiring them to become US citizens who must learn english and all that are of legal age should do a minimum of 2 yrs in our military.

    OR

Any that are of legal age can become US citizens by doing a 4yr term in our military. This only applies if they enlist in the military the day the hit US soil.

  7. These were taken in the town of Ashburn,Ga. about 15 minutes north of us.Where they had a confirmed F-1 tornado.

    1. Convienence store with the roof ripped off.

    2. Mobile home blown off the blocks into a ditch.

    3. Mobile home blown off blocks and thrown 35ft into a peacan tree.

This little town took a beating with over a 120 homes damaged and several completely destroyed. The city fire dept, took a near diect direct hit. There was 1 confirmed death related to this tornado.A semi was blown down and embankment in I-75 at the Ashburn exit. The driver didn't survive the roll over.

  9. Our little town had it's annual Christmas parade last night. The grand marshall was a local 21 yr old Purple Heart recipient. He was injured in a IED attack, went back into combat about 6 weeks later and finshed his tour before coming home.

As the mustang(yes, literally) he was riding in made it's turn onto the main stretch of the parade route the applauses from the crowd became deafening. As the car traveled along the route veteran after veteran stepped forward to salute this young man.

Watching that happen last night reminded me in a way of this commercial.

  10. I guess I am bad, but I ride them really hard and give the worst jobs I can come up with the first week or two, sometimes even up to the first three months. If they make it that far, they are usually good for about two years, until they figure out that I really am crazy.

I figured that out the 1st time I talked to you.....lol.

  11. Who has the frequency, duration and cancellation terms actually written into their contract?Does your maintenance contract automatically renew unless you receive written notice?

We have always tried to do business on a hand shake, but that changed after this morning.Stupid on my part since I have a contract that I should have been using all along.

The one thing it lacks are the things I'm asking about.Since the majority of our business is commercial flat work on a monthly basis I need to get these few specifics nailed down.Starting next week all accounts will be receiving contracts to sign.

  12. Starting tonight and running until 11/21/07 the PWM is having another sale of merchandise. All profits from this sale will be donated to the relief fund Carlos(newlook) is working to set up.

This sale was originally slated to benefit the Autism Foundation, but at this time Bob and myself feel that lending a helping hand to our pressure washing brethren should be the PWM's focus for this sale.

There is a new selection of items being offered including T-shirts,Hooded Sweatshirts, hats and can coolers.

The PWM is not an organization; it is a group of pressure washing professionals that share the same passion for the pressure cleaning industry. As fellow pressure cleaners we see the need to help each other excel in the industry be it with advice, ed
