  1. thanks for the feedback guys, sounds like I'm going to be pulling about 7,100 lbs, if I do go with the SUV I'll most likely be looking at a Navigator or Tahoe. I don't have any family to pull around, I work full time during the day and classes in the evening, this is a side business that I do during the summer. I think if I get a 16ft enclosed with the usual equipment I might have a little storage in there if I equip it with racking etc... this would limit the amount of equipment I would have to put into the SUV. But I believe the main question has been answered, which is, its not unheard of to tow with an larger SUV!
  2. hmmm, I appreciate the input! If I can pull of the SUV I was looking at the lincon navigator which is built of the the expedition platform and has a towing capacity of 8,800lbs. Or a tahoe which is similar. I'm just not to sure on the weight of the trailer rig.
  3. Ok, here's the deal... I'm looking at getting an enclosed trailer within the next couple months. It will have the usual 500 gal water tank, washer, 50 gal chem tank and various other equipment. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of the weight of such a setup (including the weight of the trailer). As I have not owned a trailer before I'm kind of in the dark here. THE REASON, I'm wondering the weight is fairly simple. I'm looking at purchasing the vehicle to tow this rig and I would really like to get an SUV instead of a pickup. Pressure washing is just a seasonal side business for me so this will also be my day-to-day vehicle as well. I'm just wondering if anyone has towed such a rig with a 2004 tahoe (or somthing similar) At the end of the day if it can't be done I'll get the truck but I'd really like to look at a larger SUV if I could get away with it. Any help would be appreciated ! Thanks!

  5. Yea, I thought I would need somthing 5+, when you say flatwork what is it your reffering to?
  6. this is the washer I was looking at for a new one but its going to cost me 8K Karcher Commercial Website Karcher Cleaning Systems : Karcher Commercial Products At this point if I could find a used one I would like to do that, I'm looking for somthing to get me into more of a commerical aspect as we've been washing houses for 5 years, with very few commercial jobs.
  7. Well I"m in Calgary, Alberta and there are not as many suppliers of this type of equipment around here. Particularily used equipment. If I were to look at purchasing from the states I would have additional costs such as shipping, the import tax, duties, or the cost to go and get it, plus in addition I might make a trip just to find the equipment is not as advertised (broken burner coil etc..) This could easily make up an additional 1-2K. This is the only used one around, I have not problem driving to another province for testing or pickup but so far have not found one! I have found a used enclosed 20ft trailer (rated to 12,000 gvw) for $5,000 however I would still need a washer and then need to get it all mounted! Yikes!
  8. Hmmm looks like 11,000.00 could be on the table now.
  9. extension poles

I use a 30ft aluminum pole, it has a booster on it cost about 240.00.
  10. Thanks for the input everyone its appreciated. What would be reasonable price to pay for somthing like this? I was thinking $10,500.00 - $12,000.00
  11. Its enclosed, I'm not getting into the business, but I am expanding. For the last 4 years I have had 3 part time guys with a cold water washer rig mainly doing residential houses for the painter contracts I have. The trailer in question, is not vented through the roof and there are essentially no accesories with it. The unloader is not hooked back to the tank, basicly its just the washer and the trailer. This seems like the asking price is a bit high
  12. Just wondering if this is a good deal, also if anyone has any additional questions I should maybe ask prior to purchasing. This guy wants $5500.00 for the washer and the trailer is leased at $200 a month with 4 years remaining ($9600.00) The total unit cost is $15,100.00 keep in mind this is Canadian. There are 2 small chemicals tanks and line but no reels. He bought the rig last year but recently took a new job offer and therefore is not able to wash anymore.
