I live here in Key West Florida and we were very lucky that Charley didn't totally wipe us off the map! The Southwest area of Florida is devastated! They are pulling bodies from damaged homes on a daily basis now! These people can use your prayers. All I can say is if there were Pressure Washers in Port Charlotte they probably will have to start to rebuild there business all over. The destruction is the same I saw when I went to Homestead the day after Andrew blew through. We are bracing for an active Hurricane Season, looks like more on there way! Copgib

I am thinking about getting into business in pressure washing and deck refinishing. My question is this: Which would be better? A van like a GMC/Chevy or Ford where I put the pressure washer hoses and maybe a 200 gallon water tank as well as all the items to deck refinishing where they would be locked up or.......... Get a pickup and then buy a trailer rig pressure washer to pull behind. Parking and moving around in tight roads might be a problem. So, all you veterans out there, now is your time to shine and help a newbe make a few decisions. Which way do I go? The work will be doing is: Flatwork/mobile homes/houses/commerical business properties and wood deck staining and refinishing/Gutter cleaning ect. Thanks ahead of time for all your help I have been reading these forums for approx. 3-years now and you guys do know your stuff! Thanks Hugh

Beth stripping....a deck.
copgib replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Rod and Beth, I am just working part time now helping another to get experience. As my name states I am a Deputy sheriff and want to get into pressure washing on my own in the near future. Sort of a retirement job. Every place I look, everyone uses different chemicals which is somewhat confusing. Could you explain to me exactly what you use and your procecure for starting and completeing a deck? If you do not want to post it here send it to my email " copgib@earthlink.net " also anyother information would be appreciated as far as what equipment you would recommend. The guy I work with in my spare time gets all his chemicals from evirospec. Thanks for your help. Hugh -
