  1. I would like each and everyone that reads this, if they believe in the power of prayer, that they say a prayer for my sister. Her name is Janet and she is 59-years old. You might say she seem to get all the bad luck compared to the rest of our family. First she had breast cancer about 10-years ago and had both breast removed. Problem solved. Three years ago, she found out she had colon cancer, again she had an operation and they got it. Last month she was told she had cancer on her overies (spelled wrong). Two weeks ago she had the operation and the doctor told her they thought they got it all, but wasn't 100% sure. They ran test on cancer they took out of her and they told her that it was a type 3. This is one short of telling you they can't do anything for you. The doctor told her that he wants her to go through a whole list of cemo treatments to make sure any that might still be there is killed. She asked the doctor if she was going to die this time, all he stated was lets see how the cemo treatments do which in her mind means she is going to die. Please keep her in your prayers if you would. She needs everyones prayers. She is having a hard time dealing with it again. Thank you! Hugh (copgib)

  2. Well we are just waiting to see if and when the storm is going to make that turn to the west. Once that happens we will get our share. I just hope we are on the west side of it where the store isn't that bad. Here is a story for you, yesterday I went to the dentist to get a filling put in. After they numbed me up the whole one side of my face was numb I could hardly speak clearly. Wouldn't you know it I got a call to clean a driveway. I ask the lady what her address was and I guess she thought I was drunk or something because she immediately told me never mind and hung up before I could get another word out. I laughed it off and did not bother to call her and explain once I could speak normal again 2-hours later. Hugh

  3. I for one don't expect much except heavy rain tornados and wind. But after living in the Florida Keys for 15-years and working in and riding through numerous hurricanes, I am more relaxed to be living further north in the state. I too hope everyone is safe after this storm, I see on the news they expect more hurricanes to form this year that they thought before. Hugh

  4. This is an ad in our local paper. These are the type of people we have around here. They all come out of the wood work every spring. Here is the ad:

Pressure Cleaning 1200 - 2000sq ft - $150, includes roof, fascia, siding, with purchase get driveway done free. We accept all major credit cards. Insured.

What do you think of those prices? Hugh

  5. I need some wood refinishing advise if possible. I have a 12' X 12' deck with no railing, just a flat deck. It is pressure treated wood that had been stained with a Thompson's light shade of stain. I cleaned the deck with F18 and then sprayed it with oxy. I went back yesterday to look at it and I noticed a couple spots that I didn't see earlier that where small but seem to still have alittle of the old stain on the wood. Tomorrow, Monday I am suppose to seal the deck since it has dryed out. How would you handle this? Should I sand the few spots that I missed or just go ahead with staining? Customer requested I put Thompsons water seal back on the deck. I am putting on a clear stain. Any help would be appreciated. Hugh

  6. Hey Beth, does that mean we have to be respectful to Jeff too???? Jeff my sleep at night hasn't been going to good after my burglary. The neighbors dog backs alot at night which makes me walk downstairs with gun in hand to check it out. I sure will be glad when Wednesday get here, I get my monitored alarm system installed then. As far as President goes. I vote for a different type of government without a president in charge. How about every man for themselves? Take care, I will be sitting here shining my gun up so it will be ready for some action! Hugh

  7. I do have insurance on my household items, but for jewlery, if you don't have it appraised they will only give you a max of $2500. My insurance company will be cutting me a check for about $4000 but when we totalled everthing including all the jewlery I bought my wife overseas while in the Navy, my total loss was around $16,000. I can assure you if that subject trys to return for more items, I will put some lead in his butt. My new alarm system gets installed on Wednesday. Take care Hugh

  8. Jeff I expected a good response out of you! That is why I posted it to get your blood pressure up! I am still recovering from coming home from a job and being burglarized. I totaled up my losses and it was about $16,000 dollars in jewlery and other items. I still can't believe it finally happened to me! Hugh

  9. I see alot folks on here and other forums state how Bush screwed everything up while in office. I voted for him and yes he has made alot of mistakes in my opinon, but as you can see above, he has did some good for everyone even though they may not realize it. Just trying to share an email that a relative sent me. Hugh

  10. Subject: Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
If you think the following may be fabricated, click on the link
    below:

    Taxes under Clinton 1999 ------------
    Taxes under Bush 2008

    Single making 30K - tax $8,400 - Single making 30K - tax $4,500

    Single making 50K - tax $14,000- Single making 50K - tax $12,500

    Single making 75K - tax $23,250- Single making 75K - tax $18,750

    Married making 60K - tax $16,800- Married making 60K- tax $9,000

    Married making 75K - tax $21,000- Married making 75K - tax $18,750

    Married making 125K - tax $38,750- Married making 125K - tax $31,250

If you want to know just how effective the mainstream media is, it is amazing how many people that fall
into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever.

If any democrat is elected, ALL of them say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie "The Sting" with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of their money and they don't even know what happened

  11. Thanks everyone for your comments. I didn't get much sleep last night, the neighbors dog kept barking. I have a 2-story house so I kept going downstairs with my .38 checking things out. Now I am waiting on an alarm system company to come by to give me an estimate for installation. My wife stayed home from work because she is sick over losing all her real nice jewery. I believe it was kids or young adults also. Taking my Wii game console lets me believe they weren't that old. Anyway thanks for all the nice comments. Hugh

  12. I came home today around 2pm from a cleaning job and found my home burgarized. The subjects pryed open the side door of my garage with deadbolt attached. The responding deputies stated it look like I might have spooked the intruders by arriving home unexpectly. There were foot tracks where someone jumped my fence and ran through the woods to a side dirt road where another person may have been waiting in a car. Beside ramsacking my house, all my wife's expensive jewlery was taken, a 5-gal watter bottle with about $200 in change with it and a Wii machine I just purchased last month. Of course they left the games and controllers behind. What really bothers me, is that I had a badge from my old Sheriff's Department they gave me when I retired sitting on my office desk that was taken also. We really feel violated and now that they have seen what I have in the house I suspect they will return sometime. Well I have my 38 loaded and waiting for them. The deputies that responded canvased the nieghbors and alot of them stated that lately there had been a couple young guys knocking on their doors asking if they had any scrape metal that they wanted to get rid of. More than likely, they were just checking to see if anyone was in the homes. Unfortunately, I wasn't home at the time they came by. I had my new laptop and digital camera in plain site but they never took either of them. I can only hope that law enforcement will finally catch these suckers. Tomorrow I get some bids on an alarm system for my home! Hugh

  13. I bought one of those shed lights for my shed, they work ok. I have had my solar panel attached to the top of my 14'X7' trailer for about 1 1/2 Months now and even using liquid nails to attached the panel to the roof everything seems to be working great. I now have light inside my trailer whenever I need it. I have 3-inside lights so it is pretty bright inside any time I need lights. I would say this was the best thing I have ever did to improve my night working conditions. Hugh
