  1. Pricing a vinyl home?

    Ouch, Don you funny
  2. Pricing a vinyl home?

Dan, i agree with you, for the most part. Im just saying thats an hour job for soap on and soap off. I could never get that here in my area of SC. I'm from Mass, 23 years ago i could get the same for a house in Ma that I get now in SC. I was a painter in the union in Boston for many years and did some side painting and got good money. I know now painters arent making what they used to just a decade ago, its a shame and its because of a lot of immigrant cheap labor I wont do painting here because they dont want to pay and i just dont like painting at all anymore. i was guestioning Ken, just because that seems high and you know it probaly isnt that high at all for his area. 20 plus years ago in Randolph Ma I would have gotten $250- $300, so $450 isnt really that much 20 years later. The $450 isnt high, but the $800+ does seem high. Cost of living is a lot different up north than here in my area too To bad about the paint biz dan, I wish I could say it would change someday, but the way we just let the immigrants roll in, it will probably only get worse, thats why when people say the economy is great, I have to say....not that great if you cant even make a living wage. Every generation for decades the wages/prices went up, now they have actually gone down, its wrong
  3. Pricing a vinyl home?

Man I got to move to your area. I would never pay that much. an extra $145 for wax? I didnt see any gutters. Im not starting a low ball thing either Ken how many houses do you do a year about, whats your closing rate, just wondering 2100 sq ft no gutters and no ladder work about $200- $250, you might get up to $350 if your lucky, but you wouldnt get many $850? it probably has a little 2 car drive a small walk and a 10X 10 patio. Im not trying to start with you dude. what do you get in PA for sq ft rate on concrete You would never get $850 around here
  4. Stolen Equipment

Here in South Carolina you don't have to register most trailers, it could be sold here and no one would ever know its stolen. No plates on 99% of trailers here. Thats why so many are stolen around here. Fricking theives, I hate to here someone lose their equipment

  8. Is the surface cleaner even. When I used to rent them, a couple times the arm on one side was bent from a weld repair so one nozzle was closer to the ground and then another time the tire was low on air on 1 side. Could be that or probably what the others have stated
  9. Slide in unit

Same here and the Uhauls have their hitches welded to close to the bumper for most trailers except theirs. I couldnt get my trailers hooked to Uhauls
  10. extension poles

Ya Lowes has a good one with the pin lock, very good poles. Not the twist type, they are a PITA. If they dont have the long ones ask them to order it, its on their stock list
  11. Could have done better

No I never question myself and my work. I'm perfect! LOL I used to question things a lot more, but with more experience over time I question myself less & less. With my workers, I beat it into them about quality almost daily and i still check a majority of their work daily. Once you dont worry about things is when something will happen

  14. Hillary for Pres?

    I AGREE
  15. Hillary for Pres?

The Prez's people are at fault, they aren't getting the message out. Also Iraq is going to take the steam out of any good news, its a lost cause sad to say, I personally thought that from the beginning and the prez has asked no one to sacrifice anything, except our great service people. Not one to toot his own horn, remember Mission Accomplished, tooted his horn to soon that time. The economy is great for many, but not great for many too If the message of the good economy isn't getting out its administrations fault. I hear about the great stock market, but only 50% of Americans are in the stock market one way or another and out of those 50 only 25% reap the benefits before retirement age We as Americans want everything and many grab for it with out long term thought. Many who had dreams of big homes are now loosing them. Yes the economy is good for maybe half the people, but that means its not good for half. As long as the front runners in the Republican & Democratic Prez race remain the same, I think we have NO good choices out of all of them
  16. Cleaning out gutters and downspouts?

Rent a fire hydrant meter. Shouldnt be any issues with that. Other wise charge them real high, then they might thnk again about not letting you use the water. You shouldnt need to much water for cleaning out gutters
  17. Hillary for Pres?

Rod, I don't know what you mean. I've seen the light:lgangel:and only us good republican soldiers are going to Heaven VOTE REPUBLICAN IN 2008
  18. Cleaning out gutters and downspouts?

As long as it is powerful and the roofs are level, other wise the back pack is safer to use & carry Your welcome good luck Jeff
  19. Hillary for Pres?

I was a flip flopper like the rest of those democrats, no more. The Dem's will probably take the White house and Congress in 08. But I'm behind GW until then and I'm hoping Chenney does a sneak attack and decides to run for Prez. D Chenney is a great American. I like how he doesn't answer to anyone, not even the American people. thats a great man, he's in good company when it comes to not answering for things he does. He's a rock and we need more like him The hell with Hillary, she'd have this country all screwed up. I'd rather have Lynn Chenney, she'd cut the balls off of those Iranian a holes. Hillary would wait until they drop a nuke and then ask them please not to do it again God Bless America and you too Jon, I like the world according to GW, history will show what he's done Have a great day and if I did have you thinking about Hillary I hope it was in your dreams, we know you'd never vote for that immoral ***** I have to go I have Hannity recorded, got to go watch Jeff
  20. Gum B&A

  21. Cleaning out gutters and downspouts?

Are the roofs walkable? We use back pack blowers and we will have a small extension pole, like a painter pole with a hook on t ( we use the little painters sausage roller handles from Lowes, theres a 3" or a 4" roller handle, use the 3" one it goes in the gutter better) With the pole & hook and blower you can get everything out. Blower gets most the stuff and hook helps if they are stuffed with debris. We also use an electrician fish, when needed to check the down spout elbow and then we go and check lower downspouts and clear them is needed. Sometimes we'll dismantle partd of downspouts if needed Usually we dont need to flush with water, but if they are packed with shingle granules you may have to flush and the stuff can make a mess Then go around with blower and trash bag for on ground cleanup of gutter debris Be careful on walking roofs, but backpack blower are great for gutter cleaning I love large gutter cleaning jobs Jeff
  22. Hillary for Pres?

Damn left wing lesbians Vote republican in 08
  23. Accountants

Ask other contractors in your area who they use. My accountant does accounting for anyone but over half his work is for contractors. I was real small and he didnt charge much at all and he still is reasonable Ask around and if you go to one and it seems to high$$ or he doesnt know constuction trades go to another. Ask him questions, whats this going to cost and what he offers or recomends. Interview him I would never go without an accountant, he saves me money every year and I'd probably beig going to jail with out him LOL
  24. Opinions needed on our website

Hey Matt, Its kind of boring. Its seems like something a one man company would do thats trying to save money. Not trying to be a PITA, there just isn't much to it. It seems empty to me, like you just dont have much to say or show. I would think because this is an organization, not just a one man operation that it would have more info and even more pictures. Looks like your just trying to fill the page with some large pictures & large text. I'd like to know more about the org, maybe more about the cleaning process, more of what I'd get if I was to be a customer, what makes your service better than others etc etc Its an OK site, it looks like something I would do just to have a website. I think its OK for now just to have it up and running, but I would definitly expand on it Good luck with it Jeff
