  1. Wrong house

Well I finally did it! Had my guys wash the wrong house. What an idiot!!!!!!!!! Thankfully it was a small house 1200sq ft, I sent them to 7--- Cypress Keyes, it was suppose to be 7--- Leeward Ln in Cypress Keyes, same neighborhood. The people live out of state and rent it out, I just totally overlooked the leeward part when write up schedule for the day for my crew What an idiot, I was just going to email an invoice to the people and caught the mistake. This is a 1st , I thought it might happen someday. WELL IT DID:lgbonk: :bullistic Well I just emailed the customer and told them what happened they probably think Im an idiot too. Someone got a free house wash What an idiot Moral of this story, Dont be an idiot!
  2. New House?

The house is coming along, its looking great. We've had some hassles most have been worked out, but I understand now when Ive heard other people say they would never go through having a house built. It can be a PITA sometimes, the builder has screwed up somethings and has fixed most stuff some I had to fight for. All in all we are happy with the actual construction. Im glad I can get to the new house everyday and check things out. We had a big fight they screwed up my vaulted ceiling in my living rm because the hip roof came in the middle of the vaulted ceiling it doesnt look bad but its not what we wanted The in law section they put up trusses for a 9 foot ceiling. It was suppose to be a cathedral ceiling. The design guy admitted he screwed up and they took all those trusses out and put in new with a cathedral ceiling, looks great now, but a hassle They had no house bibs on the pla the plumber told me and we placed 3 bibs in. the 2 front entrances Im battling, they were suppose to add a peaked overhang at my mothers side and theres nothing except the foot wide soffit. The framers said nothing on plan, the design guy said they will figure it out and the main house they put this little overhang roof it was to be bigger, after 2 weeks of crap they just made it a little bigger and we have that settled. The way they have both entrances the rain would of run right on our heads even with gutters if the rain was heavy we would be getting wet.

  5. First liability claim

I would not just let the insurance company handle it. I would be very proactive and call your insurance company and tell them it wasnt your fault and stress that you dont & shouldnt be held liable. Dont trust your insurance company to handle your claim out right fight for your company This lady is crazy to come back at you months later and I would of told here it would be filing a false claim to come back at you-screw her. I have a line or two about not being responsible for any leaks or damage due to poor or faulty building construction , maintenance and/or materials. Contractor is not responsible for ANY leakdamage etc. JL

  7. Sometimes you can find a manufactures tag on the edge of the door and model # make sure its all wood, it may not be and it may just be a Mahog. finish. Like said its a lot different than wood decks its more like refinishing furniture. I know a guy who does doors all thhe time and who you can make them look beautiful if you know how.

  18. How to

I never have done awnings and always stayed away from them. But today I looked at 2 jobs and the awnings are filthy many green mold & mildew. I have to have these bids in soon, whats involved and whats a good way to do them & how much $$$. Both are the same material as far as I could tell, ones 110 ft average awning with at a golf course and the other is 24 ft They are the green cloth fabric and water beads up and rolls off. Do you use a bleach mix, brush & rinse Theres some thick mold in places Any help thanks JL
  19. You lose some

THEN YOU WIN THEM BACK. I bid a job at the airport for the county, it was a wall about 100ft X 25 high. Its a metal wall with a baked on coating its white. I bid it a couple months ago and i did a follow up call and the head of maint. said they had to go with low bidder and low bid was $900, my bid was $1600. So they went with low bid. Well I got a call from Head of Maint yesterday and they asked if I could do the wall, the low bid went to do the job ad was out there for hours and washed the wall. Well he didnt remove any of the soot. OH WELL didnt have the right chems and he didnt get paid because he couldnt do the job. To bad he should of done a test The wall had soot on it from temporary generator. It was a black soot and they wanted it removed, when I bid on it I did a sample cleaning 1st, just to make sure what product I needed to clean it RPC Gutter Shock is the product I used . I tried to Xjet it straight it took some of it off but not all of it so I did the rest of the test by brushing it 60/40 and the soot disappeared. Got to love gutter shock it won me the job back and we'll be doing it June 1st YAY JL
  20. How to

No I didnt even look into it, because I wasnt sure how to even clean them What is sealing them, what kind of product is used and how is it applied Thanks JL
  21. How to

It works great for removing irrigation rust stains and other types of rust and you can use it for brightening wood after stripping JL
  22. How to

The building was pretty disgusting. The mold actaully ate away at the coating on some of the columns. You know some of these places they'll let them get just as bad before they have us wash them again. Its a shame if people would just clean things more regularly, they wouldnt have to recoat as often, cleaned up good JL
  23. How to

Heres pics of the rest of the job we did awnings, building, concrete got to love oxalic. It didnt do to much with the battery stains from the golf carts but it brightened up the rest of the concrete real nice. another happy customer
  24. How to

My 1st awnings. Just used a little 12% & Citraclean worked well. They werent as tough to do as I thought
