  1. Are your services disposable Jeff? Don't you market safety and healthiness to your customers? How does anyone expect to maintain clean living and working environments if pressure washers are unable to clean?????

We are NOT a disposable industry. That isn't trying to be cocky, it's a matter of fact. The pressure washing industry delivers services that given the way the world is today, are not luxuries, they are necessities.

I might have written that incorrectly. I agree totally we are not disposable and thats what I was saying with the !!!!!. The cocky stuff i was just trying to say your other lines about the about let everyone know and we are the folks to deal with. I was just trying to help, if some Gov official sees this, they might think they are the ones to deal with and take it out on the PWer another way. i might just be being a little to cautious or I might be thinking theres Big Brother watching this:devil:. I must be being a conspiracy kind of guy. since the PWNC is in its infancy, being diplomatic might work well, just trying to be constructive. Hell what do I know, I'm just a pressure washer from MB. Good luck. Hope for rain, lots of rain

  2. It was a great meeting! Details are here: http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/severe-weather-drought-information/12524-drought-meeting-media-coverage.html

The PWNC has always shared and will continue in the future to share any information with any effort and movement - only difference now is that we will let EVERYONE know what we do and when we do it. In NC, gone are the days when pressure washers are just a little unorganized group of businesses who can be picked off individually. WE ARE the folks to deal with in the Carolinas - we publicly established that fact yesterday and have several plans to implement to continue bringing the message home: We are not a disposable industry!

We are not a disposable industry!!!!!!! Just dont get to cocky, you never know who is reading these post. just a thought Celeste. Ya never know if state Big brother is reading. Good luck

  3. Hey King......what are you doing up?

Its called sick kids and a crazy cat. Plus when do I ever sleep right.

Good luck, at the meeting today. I wish I could be there to show support, I understand some of the other Myrtle Beach guys are going. We have a nightmare from hell parking garage with absolutely no water drains to finish , plus sick kids, mothers Friend in from Boston that I have to get to the airport

  4. To me, it seems like the Kingpins are Carlos in the west, ********** in Southwest, K. Fenner up North as well as Beth & Rod for Northern King ( & queenpins), in the East there is Lecours and Celeste who rule the kingdom. I certainly have learned alot from their post' over the years. As far as the Gulf east region goes, Russ in Alabama, I consider the same.

Doolittle ruled ATL when he was in biz, and have yet to see anyone with his knowledge fill those shoes. There's also Cujo, and Alan that where a crown.

I always like to be considered anally professional but certainly not a Kingpin. ( Not yet anyways). But I have helped many get started in this biz with what I have picked up from the bbs. I will own H-town in the future and hopefully acquire the brass buttons that those I speak of have. I am in a position now to take on help as my name grows around here but I refuse to do that until I get so backlogged that I can't keep up. But it is because of this board. I have work with folks that claim themselves as a 15-20 yr. vets that have yet to match my professionalism and skill with less than 6 yrs. I have seen 30 yr. painting vets that think they know all there is to know about PW, but yet it takes them 3 men and a day and a half to to clean a single ranch style. Jeez..... to my 45 minutes and just under 6 yrs. So it just goes to show the variety of "Pros" and difference in time taken to learn the trade. Differnt goals I guess. But yes I want to be the best at what I do and to be sought out, as one of the best, which is starting to happen this season.

I just don't know if one can make a living in consulting.

Who really would decide which contractors are the best anyways, other than our own personal takes on them?

    Sorry to babble, no sleep.

I love my deck- jet and x-ster

    ......what?

Thanks, but its about helping and being apart of a community of somewhat like minded people. I'm no King, its just something I put out there for fun, there are better minds out there than mine for sure. Other than the BS posts I do on politics etc, I really enjoy these BB's its my get away and heck I like to brag a little, not just to brag, its because I really get excited and sometimes cant believe how some kind of marketing has actually worked

I dont know a lot, but I have learned a lot and one of my biggest joys is to help others when they call, I never have all the answers, but I figure if I can help someone a little, thats actually a lot.

BB's should stay just how they are. Theres some BS out here, I know but dont really care unless its going to hurt someone, some way or another. BB's are a great place to interact with others who PW and thats it. I love my BB's, Xjet and my Biz

Adrian, its funny who you post as the kings, its the ones who post the most and have the biggest mouth, me included LOL

I was thinking of starting my own BB and call it "The world according to the KING' LOL. That would ber one messed up BB. No downstreaming allowed or off with their heads

Maybe someday, accreditation or an org will work well, I am just going to sit back and see.

Adrian, continued success on your biz. Hope 2008 is a great year

  5. The reason I was asking is because in one of the search threads, a guy mentions washing a hardiplank house and it changed colors (blue to green). They mentioned oxidation as the cause on the thread, but I was wondering if there were any precautions to take when dealing with it.

    Jeff,

You mention that I should just use regular house wash, so would 2gal of 12.5 SH and simply cherry in a 7 gal bucket X-jetted be fine?

Thanks for the replies so far!

    RJ

That mix should be just fine

  6. We will have nothing eventually from our own country. We are going to be totally screwed sooner or later, we are showing signs of it now.

Im surprised at youKen, I thought you would say its the American way, unfettered capitalism. No being a wise ass, just thought thats how you saw it, or it might of be doolittle, I cant tell you two apart sometimes LOL

  7. I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for cleaning painted hardiplank. I did a search and found three threads, but not much information, on the best way to clean it, or should I stay away from it. I am thinking that I should go easy on the bleach when dealing with the stuff.

Its really no big deal, regular house wash mix is fine. I have seen older hardiplank that has coatings that have oxidized, just take same precautions that you would take with other oxidized surfaces.

Its just like any other house wash

  8. how would you compare it to simple cherry? better or worse or do you feel like sticking your neck out?

    rando

It would say better. On stucco the rounded drip edge we sometimes have to brush those areas to get black streaks out, and the Citra Clean would work faster with less brushing

Simple Cherry works good too, but I feel the Citra Clean was a little better

  9. I tell them its a building wash mix that has a bleach product in it and that its diluted which makes its safe. We someone is concerned I just down play the bleach aspect of it and say that the bleach is the only effective way to remove the mold & mildew. I never say its 12% or pool chlorine

Just play it down and tell them its a great mix of, detergent/soap, bleach and a rinse aid and it is bio degradable

  10. My accountant in the past few months has laid off two workers and its his busy time, tax time. He's lost a lot of service companies, Construction is way off, which also takes away from everything else. The trickle down effect

Its looking like a good year for us, but I know that could change. some with money are going to hold onto it longer just in case

Damn, I wish we could keep Bush in another 4 years

  11. Its effecting everything, how bad Im not sure. Just fuel cost, not just what I put in the trucks, but fuel costs effect everything we buy

I think all forms of PWing can and probably will be effected, people tighten their purse strings when the economy shakes. I know many retirees that are looisng money or nervous about the Stock market etc are they going to wash their houses, some yes, some no. New construction is down so isnt that line of PWing, I know a couple guys that, that hurt

theres a lot going on, I hope it doesnt last to long and I hope all survive, but not all will

Good luck to all Oh Ya, its all that devils fault ........George Bush :lildevil::lgbonk:

  12. Would anyone like to share any articles they may have on exactly how dirt and mold/mildew can degrade siding (particularly vinyl and brick)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to gather info for this Spring's marketing attack! Thanks in advance for any help!

    - John

Ya, I'd like the same thing

    Hey John! Whats up?

  13. I have been very busy with my restaurant and the new baby boy (Jan 12, James Cooper Bruno) But I just realized Steve's board was gone. Steve taught many of us what it meant to be a powerwasher, and he certainly helped me get started and stay in business. I will always be indebted to THE CLEANER NETWORK and Steve Rowlett.

Congrats Bruno on the new addition. Arent you to old to be fathering kids. Oh Viagra LOL

Congrats to you and yours and hope the restaurant is going well
