  4. Best Method to Remove Loose Paint

Daniel, Hello, I have reading up on what to use for preparing house for paint, wood siding and figured TSP and bleach would work well. My question is how should I mix this. I have liquid TSP not the powder form. I also believe that even after pressure washing house you will still need to scrape and sand...no matter how much pressure you use...correct? Thanks,
  5. Anybody in Texas

Well not really...at least I don't think. I see some placed on the side of the road selling them but I think most of them are probably sold like in theme parks and such. There is actually one on the side of the road when I drive to work and for the most part it is not really ever open. Why do you ask, if I may ask?
  6. Anybody in Texas

Are you referring to shaved ice or snow cones?
  7. Wow, I would have ran...but does look better than what I would have expected. Nice job and way to stick with your gut feeling, you won that gamble :).

  9. just a hello

Dane, I would like a pic of your tip as well, can you send me a pic to daniel@mrpowerwash.us Thanks,
  10. I received a call to give an estimate on a deck last mid year. When I arrived the home owner was there and showed me what some one he had called to do the job had done. They...it appeared had used the zero tip in an attempt to clean the deck. Once they saw the damage they quickly left before he (the homeowner) arrived. Funny thing is, is that when I gave him my quote, he said he did not want a perfect job but just wanted it to look better then it looks now :).
  11. The ant and the grasshopper

I like the OLD version, let's keep that one :)
  12. Selling trailer rig question

Mel, Educate me. Why do you divide the 24000 by 1100?
  13. Hot Box

Paul, Have you had or heard of any complaints in terms of people running shur flo to spray chemicals and the 12 volt being drained because the engine on the pressure washer could not keep up with keeping the battery charged?
  14. Okay, I have done a few decks and fences now. Fences are pretty easy - don't get me wrong though, they are regular type of wood fences, none to fancy as some of the ones I have seen here. I am posting pic's of a deck I have done and don't worry - you won't hurt my feelings, tell me how I can make them better. I do have some issues when I spray the decks, I usually brush about 6-12 inch border from the wall of the house and then spray from that point out. At times you can actually see the brushed in area in comparison to the sprayed area...not sure what you call this; how do I avoid this, other than covering the entire house and spraying everything.
  15. What do You Think

Thanks Rick and Jason for the info.
  16. Hello Ron, hows it going?

  17. simple cherry experience

Hmmm, I agree. I also ordered some and it smells really good, but once I added the bleach it did not really mask the smell. I am not sure if my mixture was right though, as I have noticed most people using SC are either DS or X Jetting it. How should it be mixed if you are going to apply with chemical sprayer - like a shurflo???? I like the theory of DS but with gas prices what they are, I would rather use a chemical sprayer and cut back on my gas usage.
  18. Fence Job Today.

Yeah, same thing with me. Couple was selling the house so they just wanted the fence and deck washed :)
  19. Hello to all, My name is Daniel and I have about 4 months experience in this type of work :) I have been shadowing a friend who has been doing this for about 12 years but would also like an opinion on what this is. I did a rock house (lower half) with stucco to upper portion of house. Anyway, on the rock portion there was one rock that was covered with black stuff - mold I thought. I hit it with 1:1 bleach about 8 times to no avail. I am using a 5.6 GPM with hot water and 3000 PSI. I then progressed to make the bleach stronger and still to no avial. I then placed bleach straight to no avail. It did get better but after about 12 applications it is about 75% less than when I started. I also used Zep commercial all purpose cleaner. Here are the pics. What else do you recommend...I would like to get it all off. Oh by the way I left the rock with straight bleach soaking over night. Thanks, Daniel
  20. Black ?Mold? on rock house????

So James from the picture and well the house (not full view in picture) the surrounding rocks is what the majority of the house looks like. Except for about two rocks in which the initial black stuff came off slightly after being aggresive....maybe I was to aggresive? Is this top layer artificial or a natural part of the rock?
  21. Black ?Mold? on rock house????

Lightning Gene, thanks and glad to hear from you.
  22. Black ?Mold? on rock house????

Well thanks to all for the information. I did speak with a technical advisor from a chemical company and he states that it is Quarry Sap and it is a natural part of the stone. He also states that no chemical with change its appearance. AC New Guy, also glad to see someone from the Lone Star State. E-mail me, I go to Houston on occasion. My e-mail is Daniel@mrpowerwash.us. Thanks again for the advise and input, Much appreciated :) Daniel
  23. Black ?Mold? on rock house????

The area was all black when I started and after multiple applications of bleach and zep it did begin to go in some parts from black to gray. Other areas begin to show the color of the rock. What is left is what would not change back to match the remainder of the house and those parts stayed gray or black. There is another stone that is like this but no where near this bad. I could not get the black off of it either. It to now has gray or black mixed with the original color of the house???? The house is around 5 years old. Will see if I can find out what type of stone it is. Thanks, Daniel
