I think a lot of the things that are known about roof cleaning comes from Mallard.I have seen his name around and actually read a bio about his business.I believe he does deserve some respect on this board.He has a lot of knowledge to share if he choses.I don't know that patronizing him is the way to get him to open up and share his ideas. His company has probably done more roof cleanings then anyone that I have heard of. I'm always amused when someone get on this and other boards and posts a pic or makes a statement, and if they are not a high number poster or on every board there is,people jump on em and attack what they say as if they don't know anything or they are trying to pass something over on us all.

I have a general pump brand that is sold by northern it has a polymer housing.Is this the one your talking about? If so I have washed alot of concrete with it and it's a pretty good tool for the money.If I was going to wash thousands od square feet a week like some of these guys then I would probably use a whisper wash but for the money and what I do with it the GP works for me.

I have a direct drive 4gpm 4k machine and have washed ALOT of cement with it.I have also washed a lot of houses with them also.I would go with the general pump and save the money for something else you are going to need.I run all general pumps and knock on wood have never had one fail yet.

I think the dewalt can't make the pressure and gpm it is rated for with a 11 hp honda.

I spent my week cleaning out a house where an old lady lived with 38 cats and 10 dogs!No kidding the place is a biohazard.2 30 yard rolloff containers of crap out of the house and the yard.When i say crap I mean literally pooh pooh ok. The health department had to run the lady out of the building.you can't enter without a respirator.I sprayed bleach into the house and there was so much ammonia in the carpet it started to gas off the chlorine in a cloud.I had to get the water hoses and spray the clouds down. So I really feel for you having to work where you were.

They improve the work conditions by threats though not by performance and work output.The foreign automakers are unionized also but they don't sign bad contracts.The big three have been forced into bad deals for years.Why do you think the foreign companies don't build plants in the same areas as the big three? They can get good workers and cheaper in the south because it costs less to live here.It is supply and demand.Good people who will work for the wage offered.Not the wage that was threatened and cajoled out of the companies. I want the big three to survive but it will be smaller more productive companies than they are now.They will have to be to survive.I mean come on you pay people to stay home because they plant is down.That's like my customers paying me to not wash their house this month.I think unions are god and bad they protect the people but unfortunately they protect the people who need to get run off because they are worthless and won't work.

I think the guy is trying to get out of the contract.But thats just me being me. I try to talk to people like that when I'm walking around the job and if it's obvious they are ultra picky my price doubles, just for the callback factor.

If the oil is milky ooking it has probably blown a seal.The only one I have ever had fail on me it was very obvious though it wasn't bubbling out it was blowing everywhere.

Post some pics of it and we can figure it out.

Used it's worth like $450.The reason is if they ran it dry the pump's almost shot.They could have abused it.Honda is good Comet I really don't know alot about.It's used and everything used is worth half of new in my book and that's just a starting price it goes down from there

You can buy a lot better machine for that kind of money from any of the distributers on this site just post a rquest for a qoute and what you want to do with it and they will pm you I'm sure. That machine is worth maybe $700 brand new used I would offer $350.00.

I use a hand held echo blower the nozzle fits right in the gutter and nothing gets wet so it all falls to the ground.50 percent of the time the leaves get blown into the mulch under the bushes.the rest we rake up and haul off. I done a bunch of houses like this.If its not a walkable roof I charge so much its worth the ladder moving.

I always question things people find months later.I mean c'mon are you now the owner of every thing that goes wrong at their house now. I find it hard to believe you did that,unless you rinsed with an x-jet but it ain't your first rodeo if your 5 years into the biz. I rarely wash trailers but they are famous for oxidized paint.

It sound like your mix dried on the windows.Ammonia may get it off.Why 2 months later she didn't notice this before?I'm kinda skeptical about that.

How do you know the ball is sticking? You could have a water flow problem,less than adequate to cause the pressure drop to start the chems into the injector. The other thing could be the rubber seat in the injector is gummy or has turned less rigid and is causing it.Check the seat,but also check the water flow too.

Is Hydrotek looking for you because the cops called them?If so you better call the cops before they find you. I kinda understand the don't get involved thing because I got an insurance claim on me for letting a guy use my cell phone one time at a wreck way out in the country.The guy call the cops they show up take my info as a witness and the next thing I know a month later my insurance is calling me about an accident I was involved in.WHAT!! The state trooper who showed up went to church with the guy that wrecked.I don't stop anymore I know it sucks,but it is what it is, the best thing I can do is call 911 and I do it everytime I see an accident.Getting involved is just that YOUR involved and in the courts today you have to prove your not.

What size machine does it take to be a real PW?It is obviously more than 2.7 gpm.3 gpm,4gpm,5gpm if you have an 8gpm machine does that mean your more of a PW than a guy with a 4 gpm machine.Please,give me a break.It sounds like some people don't want anyone to start a biz from the ground up. To say Oh,you have to have a 5 gpm hot machine and at least $5,000 worth of other stuff to be a real PowerWasher in the real world.I think you are a real PW if you can satisfy the customer that's it.I can't believe I can't be a real Power washing contractor unless I have some big over rated machine.HAHAHAHA I'm dieing here. So Joe blow goes into his local distributor and throws down $15,000 for a big machine and a trailer the whole works,NOW he's a contractor because he has the equipment and hes ready to make a good impression on his customers because he has a big ole machine.He can wash a house right now because he has a bigger machine than me?I don't buy it. There are guys on these boards that don't use pressure washers to clean, does that mean they are hacks?there are guys that wash houses with brushes are they hacks? Give the guy a break he asked for an answer and we gave him our opinions.I know you can wash house with a 2.7 gpm machine I've done it and I can guarantee there are others on this board who started with a similar machine or less.

You use the same chems you use to clean your own house and the other families houses that you have already washed with it.I have washed hundreds of houses and I don't have a 5gpm machine.I started with a 3000 psi 3 gpm machine and washed alot of houses with it, as a matter of fact I would still use it when I wash a house and driveway sidewalk at the same time the helper would do the cement and I would wash the house so you can wash with it.Will you be fast NO,will it be clean it depends on your work ethic if you are honest and do good work it doesn't matter you will get it done. To say you have to have this machine or that machine to do a good job is BS the machine doesn't decide when the job is done or if its good you do. Cement work you will go broke trying to make it with that machine,stick with the house and deck washes until you can upgrade or grind it out and try it, your choice. Call Bob at pressure tek he can advise on chems to use he sells em.There are several others that sell chems on these boards that will help you out.Research the posts and call them. I don't want a war with anyone but if you want to do this work and work hard you can.That being said this is not for everyone this is a real job that is learned over years not days and the lessons can be very expensive when you screw up someones house or deck so get legit with insurance,lic., etc

I have never been asked to brush a house,and if someone did my price would be the same per hour, but twice as many hours. I see the value of leading homeowners to percieve the labor in washing a house and that may deter them from doing it.I believe I'm there to clean thier house period,if I can clean it from the ground than I do,if I need a ladder I use it,but I don't go out of my way to create unneccesary labor for myself.I that you want to appear busy by your saying you would rather do 15 houses in 15 days than 8 house in 4 days.I may be wrong but I need to make as much money doing the least amount of work while pleasing my customer. I see your way as a marketing tool but it doesn't fit for me.I would rather do the 8 houses in 4 days and find more work with the other 11 days or just go fishing and play some golf.LOL Seriously I see that you are trying to add another tool to the younger guys tool box for marketing.
