I am NOT Sec. of State material! I want to be the Secretary of Killing All the Scumbags Who Try To Kill Us. Mike Williamson, SKATSWTTKU I like that.

Interesting numbers. Shows how the US has progressed from fighting war primarily in the trenches to fighting a high-tech war primarily from the air. I wonder what the stats are for WWI.

Most of those 3.69% die from natural causes or terminal illnesses. Most aren't young soldiers in fighting shape. I'd say the percentage of active military who die each year from non combat and non accident causes is much much lower.

Apperently, several people. Excellent post, though...

I don't know that there is such a thing...but maybe you could start checking their websites, or if there is a tile roofing materials manufacturers organization similar to ARMA you could check their website.

Oh yea, I realize there are no absolute guarantees, but they couldn't give me any likelihood....It depended on that one test (and of course, being able to handle the training). That's what I wanted to do, and if not, I wasn't interested. As far as the libertarians, it was just in response to your comment about "toeing the party line". Because many of my views are pretty conservative, and I like GW, people assume I'm a republican. I was just clearing that up. No bad feelings here!

Notice I said that was A determining factor...not the only one, and not the largest one. Sorry my lack of service disappoints you. I'm very glad I never joined...had I done so, I'd have never met my wife, and would not now have my son...I'd have missed out on the two most important people in the world to me. My life worked out just the way it was supposed to. :)

Jeff: Yes, a good day for the Iraqi people. A day that likely would never have happened had it not been for your buddy GW!! As far as when, according to the news reports, it now goes to a 9 judge panel for review. If they don't reject the sentence (and they have unlimited time to either approve/reject) then he must be executed within 30 days of their decision. The US didn't try him, didn't sentence him, and will not execute him. This is all Iraq. I disagree that it makes us just like him. He killed unjustly and immorally for personal gain. He will be killed as punishment for that, not for anyone's personal gain. I have mixed feelings about the death penalty, but in this case, there is no doubt what he's done. There's no doubt he's a deeply evil man.

I'd have to say "ok". I still think that he's a basically honest man who wants to do what is right for this country. I don't see him as an evil republican oilman who wants to order the deaths of Iraqis and US soldiers to benefit his oil buddies, nor do I see him as someone with a vendetta against Saddam because of things his father experienced. I'm not happy with every decision he's made, but as I said, I think he is an honest person with the right motives. That means a lot, compared to some from the past. I'm no Bush lover, or Republican party myrmidon...I'm simply a free thinking American. No one has told me to think this way. I think on my next voter registration, I will register as an independant. I have been Libertarian for years, but there are aspects of the lib. party that I simply can't support. I think it is more honest for me to simply claim to be independant.

I came very very close to joining the Navy in 1985. I scored in the 98th percentile on my ASVAB, and the recruiter wouldn't leave me alone. The only thing that stopped me was that they could not guarantee that I'd go into the nuclear power program. I'd have to take some tests, and that would determine whether I was allowed in or not...and I could not take those until after I had enlisted. There were no real conflicts going on then like there are now, so that too was a determining factor in my decision. Sometimes I wish I'd gone in...God knows my life could have used the discipline I'd have learned at that age. I have nothing but the highest respect and admiration for those who serve this country in any branch of the armed services. My dad was in the Navy from 1955-1959. He served on the Coral Sea, and was also stationed in Kodiak and at Whidbey Island. Rod, as long as we have humans on earth, we will have conflict and fighting. There's just no way around it...The strong will always seek to conquer the weak, and the weak will always seek to be free from the strong.

Oh don't be stupid...my views are my views and have nothing to do with the Libertarian Party....

I've seen many evangelists who drive cars less expensive than mine. Evangelists don't have churches. Those are pastors. Evangelists typically travel around going from church to church. I agree, the dirtbags who are using the ministry as a means to live the good life while fleecing the people will get theirs...I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. However, those people are not representative of the ministry as a whole. There are so many more good men who are simply trying to do what they feel God has called them to do.

Not sure how I feel about that...It would solve some problems, but I'm not crazy about forced service...
-
It sucks, IMO. I have 1/2 a drum of it if you want it, but it really does suck. Stick with the Citracleen or similar products...Can't beat it.
-
Most of the military leadership disagrees with this position... No one wants a draftee military... If I'm out there fighting, I want the guy watching my back to be there because he chose to be, because he believes in what he's doing, not because he got a draft card in the mail.

We WHAT??? We pulled out long before anything was "won"...The 1993 raid was a fiasco, and it took until 1995 to get him to sign the Dayton Accord...which didn't stop him from continuing the horrible things he was doing to the Serbs. It wasn't until 2000 that he was removed from power by his own people.... We didn't win a damn thing in Kosovo... No, we went in under partially erroneous intelligence. We went in because Saddam refused to comply with UN resolutions. We went in when we did, in part, because of intelligence that led some to believe that Saddam was aggressively pursuing WMD programs. Some of that intelligence turned out to be faulty. Whether there were ever any WMDs, or a nuclear program, is a topic for debate. No, "we all" don't "really" know that at all. While there is no apparent direct link between Saddam and 9/11, there ARE links between Saddam and terrorism... Did we pull out of Afghanistan? I don't think so. In fact, we're STILL there...That's a silly arguement. Going into Iraq had no effect on our operations in Afghanistan. First you say "Bush lied" and now you say "IF he lied, or IF he had bad intel". Which is it? Or does it just feel good to say "Bush lied", even if you know you really don't have any basis for that accusation? What, specifically, should we have done in Afghanistan that, in your opinion, we didn't do because of the timing of the Iraq invasion? I don't mean "get OBL"...I mean, what specific military operations? He did? He knew? Do you have proof of that, or is this just another anti-Bush accusation that has no basis in fact? There were rumors in late September that he was dead. Of course, they're unverified...for all we know, he's buried under a mountain of rubble, or dead somewhere from heal problems. Or not. We just don't know. I'm sure we're still looking, and I just don't see how being in Iraq has any effect on that whatsoever. Do you think EVERY military planner and leader in our nation's military is focused on Iraq and no one is watching Afghanistan, or anywhere else??? LOL!

Why is some loser making $10k/year MY problem? Why should *I* pay more because he's either too lazy or too stupid to make more than $10k/year???

Wow, great ideas from everyone!!! I love the ebay idea, that's a heck of a lot cheaper than local, as long as you're capable of putting them on correctly! -
Chemical Tank for Downstreaming
Mike Williamson replied to Buckeye's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I use a 65 gallon tank, and fill it close to full with SH and soap. Usually lasts a week or so, with isn't nearly long enough for the SH to break down enough to notice. Much nicer to just pull the hose off the trailer, turn the ball valve on the tank on, fire the machine up, and start working. No mixing for each job. -
Chemical Tank for Downstreaming
Mike Williamson replied to Buckeye's question in Residential Pressure Washing
That tank is not designed for vehicle mounting, and is kinda small. For not much more money, you can get a 65 gallon tank similar to what Keth has on his rig from Tractor supply. 4 eye bolts and two cargo straps and a few fittings and you're in business. Keth: I like your valve setup. Where'd you get the valve? -
He was not mis-quoted. He said what they say he said.
-
Well, there is that too. Of course, next time I come down for one of those "near cost" deals on supplies, I need to pick up another case of Phelps Wands. I've had great success in suckering the local washers here in town into buying them. I think I've converted a dozen or so from using those silly Spraying Systems guns to using the far superior, rugged, lightweight Phelps Wand. Of course, these are some pretty tough characters to be able to "wrestle" with those horribly difficult ball valves! LOL!!

Yep, been busy with other things the past few weeks. Oh, and trying to attain and keep the Mahjong championship!! LOL!
