Suggestions on which HOT PW to purchase
Mike Williamson replied to Tom DeFrancesco's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have the 8gpm 120v Pressurepros hot water skid, and I love it. It's only 8 months old, but it has given me no problems other than the stupid choke sticking on me at 11:30 at night last week, with no tools!!! LOL! Just a result of being on an open trailer. Fixed it in 5 minutes once I was able to get the air cleaner off! -
3" Spider

Works on carpenter bees??? I sprayed a carpenter bee hole with wasp spray, and out comes the female, falls on the ground and starts rolling around. Did that for about 10 minutes, then flew away. Did I mention I also saturated her with spray? I'd love something that would knock those things down. I HATE bees/wasps/etc. Some call it an irrational fear, I think it is completely rational...:lgbugeyes That's one critter I will kill anytime it gets near me. -

I have a friend who claims to have been bitten by one. I hate them. I won't kill them if I don't need to, but they love building their webs between trees, and some jobs I do are pretty wooded around the house. I just HATE walking into a web I didn't see and wondering where that joker went to...And their webs can dang near catch a person! Just spraying them with water will usually run them off, and a stick will get rid of the web. No reason to kill them if you don't have to! -
Agreed, the right thing to do is protect my family. I DON'T do that by antagonizing some stupid drunken redneck who then decides to come by and burn my house down the night I'm out working and my family is here sleeping. This isn't a "predator", this is some stupid redneck taking advantage of an easy opportunity. He's not coming into the house. The dobie won't let him anyway, and the wife knows how to use the .38 and the shotgun... Like I said, catching him is one thing, being vindictive and ruining equipment or vehicles is another.

Kinda like it is easy to profile a drug dealer? If he's black and driving a nice car, he MUST be, right? I just don't buy it. Sorry.

Some of the nicest, hardest working people I know are hispanic. And who cares if they have swarmed us? I'm not talking illegals here...The VAST majority of hispanics in this country (including mexicans) are here legally, most of them citizens. Hatred is a horrible emotion. It will eat you up and spit you out.
-
Ahh, but the OTHER issue here, for me at least, is what is the RIGHT thing to do? As the saying goes, what would Jesus do? Catching them is one thing...destroying equipment/vehicles is entirely another.
-
Maybe I misunderstood...I just don't see how you can "tell" they're illegals by looking at them...they're more likely just as American as you or I... I said nothing of racism regarding illegals...I said assuming they're illegals just because they're mexican or speak spanish is just another form of racism. Nothing wrong with not liking illegals being here taking work and money...Everything wrong with assuming someone is illegal just because they look different.
-
giving them the benefit of the doubt??? Kinda like I do you, or anyone else? For all I know, you're an illegal from Bosnia or somewhere else that looks like me. Just because they're mexican, cuban, or whatever, doesn't mean they're illegal...Many of them are just as American as you or me (if you're really an American). Calling INS on someone just because they look mexican or are speaking spanish, is just another form of racism.
-
How do you know they're illegal? I mean, they aren't driving around with a sign saying "Illegal Mexican Powerwash Service" are they? Or do we assume that every mexican doing lawn care, pressure washing, etc, is an illegal trying to lowball us?
-
It isn't...it is a huge bag of powder, and a gallon jug of liquid. I suppose that IF the powder were mixed uniformly enough, you could weigh it out for a 5 gallon bucket and pour in 1/11th of the gallon jug...but I don't think the powder is mixed uniformly.

This is the ONE reason why I'd consider being in favor of government licensing for the PW trade...It wouldn't completely do away with fly by nighters and illegal operators, but it would help. The question is, would it help enough to outweigh the cons of government regulation!
-
Well, if it weren't for the mosquitoes and other nasties out there, I'd leave the dobie outside for a few nights...He's hard to see in the dark until he's right in your face. He can't go over the fence, but he'll scare the mud out of you.

Ehh, I'm not worried about that. I just want to catch the SOB so I know who he is.

Thought about setting up the video camera to the DVD recorder on 6 hour record and leave it set up in the bedroom window. I may just pursue this...easiest way to catch the jerk, without damaging anything but maybe him. I'm not crazy about getting into a fight in the street over gas, but my Dobie wouldn't mind.

This was another thought...Thanks for the details on how to do it. Maybe I'll just swing by radio shack tomorrow. I also thought of wiring floodlights to the system. Lights and siren.

The X-Jet debate
Mike Williamson replied to PressurePros's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Yep, but mine is different. soap/rinse nozzles in the left pocket, shooter tips in the right, if I need them. -
That's because you and I live in a particularly blessed part of the world. I do agree, it is a GREAT time to be alive...but that doesn't change the fact that this world is in many ways getting worse. Ways that may not matter to you or others who don't share my beliefs. That's a whole different thread. LOL!

It was about both..gimme a break. The support Saddam had and was giving to terrorists was one of the reasons we went in. The PRIMARY reason we went in was Saddam's refusal to comply with UN resolutions...He'd spit in the face of the US and the UN quite a few times...He refused to cooperate. There was no "refocusing" on terrorist ties...that was a focus from the beginning. Has anyone claimed that they were? Does that mean anything? Yes, because the arguements are valid, whether it is 1987 or 2006. The minimum wage doesn't encourage productivity, it enables laziness. "Hey, I got a raise even though I'm a 'do the minimum required' employee"

I've thought of both those...Warning him that there's a chicken**** thief around stealing gas, so he ought to make sure he doesn't leave any out. I also thought about leaving a little note telling this idiot that "Yes, there are 3 five gallon cans here. One of them has an undetectable additive that will ruin your engine. Feel free to take your chances" I also thought about leaving him a bill for the gas and cans. LOL!

I think a simple locking toolbox will do the trick. While it would be nice to do something back, Alan has a good point...this idiot knows where I live, and if he's stupid enough to come back a 2nd time in less than a week, then he's stupid enough to, well, do something really stupid if I make him mad by ruining a car/truck motor or other equipment. The problem with catching him is that I like my sleep! I'd have to literally sit up all night hoping he tries again that night. I need a locking toolbox anyway, so I'll just go that route. This is a pretty rural, redneck area, and it is pretty defiinitely somone who lives out here, or visits someone frequently. You don't come out here by accident! I have a feeling I know who it is, but proving it is another thing.... I do have an enclosed trailer, but I like working with the open rig...Much easier to access everything. With a locking toolbox and the cable locks I have, I should be able to better secure everything. I do like the paintball gun idea tho...

I use the pocket system. -
Wouldn't the water/gas seperate? I like that idea if it'd work, but I'm thinking more something that would permanently ruin the motor of whatever they tried to run it through. I have a feeling it is a lawn care guy who lives around the other side of the lake, but that's just suspicion. I really hope they don't know the difference between mixed and regular gas, and dumped the whole can of mixed gas in their car.
