I have the BBC on Satellite 24/7. You can also find the BBC on radio in most areas. So you're saying that the news reporting abilities of a 3rd world country that's not wired for the internet somehow have the capability of reporting the "truth" that we don't, or that other nations that are not 3rd world countries do? Does this "conspiracy" reach to ALL nations except those lucky 3rd world nations? As far as the media, I don't see how it matters whether it is print, radio, TV, internet, or whatever. The information is out there and available. I'm simply curious how our government and media block our access to these news sites that are surely out there! First, you're saying our lack of "truth" is a government conspiracy, the media doesn't tell us the truth, etc, but then you say you don't have time to watch the news, and you don't use the internet except for your business. If all that is true, how do you KNOW we're not getting the truth, since you obviously don't know what's even being reported! No doubt much of it is negative, and much of it is mindless. I don't watch it either, and I don't search the internet for news...my point is simply that we DO have access to all types of news, not just what our conspiracy laden US news outlets report to us. I've heard this claim before, that we don't know the truth, because we don't have access to the news that "other" countries (who are usually blatantly anti-American, but they certainly wouldn't be biased, would they) report. It's just ludicrous...makes no sense.

Am I using the surface cleaner the right way ?
Mike Williamson replied to Tom DeFrancesco's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Yep, been there done that. I left my ball valve on my other trailer one night when I had to do a restaurant strip...Big LONG open air plaza where people eat outside, and 4 restaurants in a strip mall type setting. I got SO sick of walking back and forth to shut down the machine, walk back, switch to the wand, walk back, fire the machine up, and walk back to rinse. -
losing $$$$
Mike Williamson replied to jbruno's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
For me, it depends on the family. I don't charge my parents or sister for work I do for them, just as my Bro-in-law didn't charge me when he brought his 72" mower (he does lawn care) over and cut my back lawn. That, to me, is just what family does. -
The X-Jet debate
Mike Williamson replied to PressurePros's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Can just about guarantee that, with the right injector (one with a high enough draw rate), you'll LOVE downstreaming. The Xjet and the downstreamer work in essentially the same way. The Xjet is able to achieve a higher draw rate I assume at least in part because it has no back pressure from the hose. The draw rate is so high (typically 2:1 or so for a 5gpm machine) that it is adviseable to dilute the wash mix a bit so as not to waste mix, and not to use a chlorine solution that is too strong. The Xjet (based on their own literature) will only give you a 1:1 mix if you're using a 2.5gpm machine. With a 4gpm you get 1.6:1 and with 5gpm you get 2:1. Downstreamers, from my own experience, vary in their draw rates. I can tell you I know the one I'm using now is giving me more than 6:1. Some advertise close to a 3:1 ratio. -
And we as Americans don't have access to the news from other countries? They don't put their news on the internet for us poor deceived Americans to look at?

Speaking of how woefully uninformed the average US citizen is, here are a couple links to videos from an Australian TV show...They can to the US and interviewed people on the street. Funny stuff, but sad.

Am I using the surface cleaner the right way ?
Mike Williamson replied to Tom DeFrancesco's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Yep, a ball valve allows you to shut off the flow of water so you can switch from surface cleaner to the wand for rinsing and detailing. The one I use is great, Bob at www.pressuretek.com sells them. -

Bruno! I thought you were getting out? I remember you were selling, then you weren't, then you were. You just can't get away from this stuff, can you? -
Congrats!!! When my son graduates, I'll be 56, and my wife will be 64. No worries! Just more incentive to keep yourself healthy!

For those that add Cascade to your housewash mix...
Mike Williamson replied to Chris S's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I don't know about cascade...I have used JetDry, which is the spot preventer. cascade is the soap. I'm sure it may help a bit, but using a true rinse aid will help much more. -
Looks good! I just don't like that it tries to make customers believe that using pressure of any sort to clean their house is going to damage their paint. I have hundreds of customers who didn't have the experience your website seems to imply is commonplace. It looks a lot like I remember the old site looking.

It's typically considered polite to start your own thread rather than insert your request for free stuff into someone else's thread.

The X-Jet debate
Mike Williamson replied to PressurePros's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Whatever the ratio that you're actually getting, if it works, it works! I went the route of the $50.00 SS "super" injectors, but they didn't work as good as this cheap $12.00 brass injector. I'm seriously considering watering down my mix a bit because it is almost too strong. -
Yep, hard to believe Michael is almost a year old. Time flies!

That's him!

Yep, sorry. Envirospec. http://www.envirospec.com/products.htm Don't know why they pulled the prices from the catalog...Kinda sucks. They've gone a whole different route with their ordering...if you don't bug them with phone calls, you get to order off their monthly discount flier (via email or fax). The prices are significantly lower, but not everything is available at a discount price every month. They're really pushing the "don't call us, we don't want to be bothered" mindset in their advertising, but the prices are hard to beat on small parts. I'd never order something that may require service after the sale from them. There IS a guy on this board who is a re-seller for them, and I've heard good things about him as far as service and helpfulness. Can't recall his name tho.

Well, personally, I think the whole thing is a bit silly. I just don't see anyone downloading pictures of my kid, and photoshopping his face onto the body of another naked baby...why not use the face of the naked baby? Get a grip!

Well, you also have a bit of added expense getting down here. For us, it is a 2 hour drive and the cost of tickets and the campground. If it were a big deal time and/or money-wise, I'd wait until he was a bit older and could enjoy it more. I'm sure we'll be at Disney quite a few times in the next couple years.

Exactly! I think too often Xjet users are being told to use way to much chlorine. Sure, it melts the algae in seconds, but it can also burn plants easier, damage windows, I've even had it take paint off window screen frames. The one thing that's easy to forget is to rinse the downstreamer after using it. I keep a short hose close by, just pull the feed hose off, put the rinse hose on and drop it into a container of water, and let the open hose run for a minute as I'm putting other things away.
-
Not sure what you mean. There's no difference, except I'm no longer using a bucket and chem hose at the wand end of the pressure hose...everything stays on the trailer. All I do to switch between chem or rinse is change tips. I ordered two relatively cheap downstreamers from espec, and the first one I have tried ROCKS! I haven't tested the draw rate, but it beats any downstreamer I've tried thus far!

What in the world is "some sicko" going to do with those pics? Hell, I have several hundred of Michael on my webpage... Bruno: She's not too young! We're taking Michael down there for his 1 year birthday next month.

Nope, no more troops needed, and certainly not a draft. The military isn't asking and doesn't want a draft. The last thing a commander wants is a bunch of troops who aren't there voluntarily out of their sense of duty to serve their nation. We're doing fine...the problem is in this culture, we want immediate results...we want this over two years ago...but I don't see this being over for 20 years...not necessarily in Iraq, but everywhere. Bush pointed that out from the beginning...this will be a LONG battle.

In this day of readily available news from so many sources, don't you think just ONE news outlet would have broken ranks and reported the truth?
