  1. Downstreaming EXPERTS ONLY....

Mike: Just threaded the female QC onto the XJ, and the male QC onto the tip.
  2. Full time or part time?

Ernie: And whose fault is it that they didn't plan very well, or jumped into it with nothing but a hope and a prayer? If they make it, great, I'm happy for them, but if they don't, the fault very often lies with their lack of proper planning. That's all. Even WITH proper planning some businesses don't make it.
  3. should i buy the x-jet????????

By the way, what IS the warranty period on the M5, and what's it cover...I mean, if it quits working after a few weeks of using acid through it, is that covered?
  4. should i buy the x-jet????????

Mike: Well, the M5 has done at least one good thing, even if you never use it...the price of the old XJ is now cheaper.
  5. Get a load of this!

The link from paul works because using that formula, every resulting number is a multiple of 9. Either 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, or 81. The symbol next to each of these numbers on the chart is the same. In short, it's rigged!!! I just noticed this, but the symbols change each time you try it...but they are still the same symbol for all 9 of the numbers above....
  6. should i buy the x-jet????????

tim: Maybe you need to save the M5 for the less harsh stuff, and use your old XJ for the adic?
  7. Downstreaming EXPERTS ONLY....

Mike: I don't think so...I tried attaching a QC to the Xjet, so I could attach the close range nozzle quickly...didn't work. The draw rate went WAY down. That may be one reason the XJ performs better than a regular downstreamer. That was my main complaint with the XJ, that it was a pain to go back and forth....Just got my M5 and will play with it tomorrow. Hopefully it is as good as everyone says it is.
  8. Hose in the House

    What about over the roof?
  9. should i buy the x-jet????????

Nope, the new XJ is the M5 I believe...Just got mine yesterday, haven't tried it out yet. Wondering why they still send a close-range tip with it...there's nowhere to screw it into.
  10. Get a load of this!

Very strange....I had no problem reading that first part at all... Here's one.... Count the number of F's in the following text: FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS Got it? Scroll down only after you have counted them! OK? How many? Three? Wrong, there are six - no joke! Read again! FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS The reasoning is further down..... The brain cannot process the word "OF".
  11. A quick hello

Chuck: Good to see you're still around! I was just wondering about you a couple days ago, still have your email around here somewhere and was going to shoot you a note to see how things were going. Glad things are going well!
  12. Downstreaming EXPERTS ONLY....

ron: According to the chart provided with the XJet, a 5gpm machine gives you 2:1. I don't know if this is true, since I have a 5.6 gpm machine. I drain a 5 gallon bucket in just about 2 1/2 minutes. I haven't timed it to be exact, but if I get the chance tomorrow I'll do that. I agree, I wish someone would develop a downstreamer that would draw 2:1....
  13. should i buy the x-jet????????

WEW: Do you ever have a problem with that setup damaing the owner's lawn? That's a lot of weight to wheel across the grass!
  14. Downstreaming EXPERTS ONLY....

rfitz: The XJ and the downstreamer work using the same principle, regardless of where they are in the pressure line....They are both installed after the pump, thus they are both downstream injectors. The XJet is just fine-tuned to the point where it can get 2:1 on a 5gpm machine, has a fancy name, and costs more. You can get an Adams downstreamer from Pressure Tek, Bob Williamson. www.pressuretek.com I don't have his number in front of me. I'm sure others carry the Adams, but I'm not aware of who. Order one and give it a shot, you'll be surprised.
  15. Xjet vs. Vjet (knockoff)

rfitz: Let me preface this by saying that I am NOT trying to make you mad, or attack you, or come across as mean or ugly or anything else. I simply know from experience that you're mistaken, and I have a couple questions... If you have so much background in math, science, and engineering, why is it that you're asking others with more experience to explain why a downstreamer can't have a better draw than an upstreamer? When I say that I can drain a bottle of bleach in 5 minutes, I was wrong. Not thinking. That bottle of bleach would be drained in a couple minutes, max. That's with a 4gpm machine using a factory downstreamer. That's at least a 12.5% draw rate, probably higher. We'll never know since I never timed it. My point was simply that with a factory downstreamer I could get better than your earlier assertion of 20:1 (I think that's what you said, different thread, maybe different board). At any rate, my last question is this: Why do you question a 5:1 (20%) or 4:1 (25%) on a downstreamer, but you don't question the 2:1 ratio of the XJet, which works on the same principle as the downstreamer? If you are correct that you simply can't get that ration in a downstreamer, then you simply can't get it in the XJet either. You may have a background in math, science, and engineering, but I have a background in I'veseenitwork. It may not make sense to you, but trust me, I'm not lying to you, and I'm not so stupid as to not be able to figure out my ratios. Maybe when I have time I'll make a video of it and send it to you.
  16. Is this a whisper wash?

That appears to be a Whirl-a-way 16". If you were using a system such as this, you wouldn't need to have any other sort of reclaim, would you? I mean, say you modified a 30" cleaner in the same type of way, you'd be reclaiming your water as you washed. Correct?
  17. Well, wadda ya think? ;)

Speed is fine for me, but I'm on a 56k dialup, so I probably don't know any better! :)
  18. Please welcome our newest Moderator...

  19. Experienced Upstreamer..???

This is an email JT sent me about where to get the shooter tips... CALL PRESSURE WORKS 804-358-1129, ASK FOR GREG OR ED. TELL THEM JT SENT YOU AND YOUR LOOKING FOR SHOOTER TIPS. BEST TOOL YOU WILL PURCHASE FOR HOUSE/BUILDING CLEANING I haven't seen pics of them...I currently use an zero degree 040 tip to rinse with. How's the shooter tip differ from the 040?
  20. Downstreaming EXPERTS ONLY....

rfitz: why do you have such a hard time beleiving you can get more than a 10% draw with a downstreamer, but you don't question the 50% draw rate of the XJet? ....they both draw chems based on the same principle... How many downstreamers have you tested? They're not all the same, and different downstreamers will perform differently with different machines. 8:1 draw rate is 12.5%, not 11.11%. The final product coming out of your wand is 11.11%. 1 is 12.5% of 8.
  21. Downstreaming EXPERTS ONLY....

ron: right...You're getting a 25% draw rate, and the final product is 20% chems.
  22. Xjet vs. Vjet (knockoff)

rfitz: I've seen you post elsewhere also that you can't have a better draw rate on a downstreamer than an upstreamer....My question is, why? I don't think Mike is saying he's spraying chems for 40 minutes...You're only downstreaming when you're applying chems....once you go to high pressure, the downstreamer stops injecting chems. That's what's so nice about downstreaming. You can go from applying chems to rinsing with the change of a tip, or if you use a high/low tip, you just release the trigger and flip your tip up and pull the trigger again. The only problem I have with downstreaming is that, as Tony says, the 5:1 ration isn't strong enough for some chems, like bleach. If I downstream 12% chlorine, by the time it hits the house it is 2%...That's not strong enough for some applications. Many chemicals CAN be mixed stronger to compensate for the 5:1 ratio as opposed to the 2:1 ratio of the XJet on a 5gpm machine. I can mix my soap powder twice as strong, and when it comes out of my nozzle it is the same strength as if I mixed it normal strength and used the XJet. And yes, you CAN get 5:1 through a downstreamer...Mike isn't the only one who has done it. However, there ARE different downstreamers and their draw rates vary, as well as whether the downstreamer you're using is rated for your machine. I promise you that I can drain a 5 gallon bucket a heck of a lot faster than you think. Heck, when I used to wash with a Home Depot 4gpm 3600psi cold water unit, using the factory downstreamer, I'd drain a 1 gallon bottle of bleach in 5 minutes easily. Certainly not the 10 or more minutes you're talking about.
  23. Experienced Upstreamer..???

I've always heard you shouldn't upstream bleach. Not being familliar with the inner workings of the pump, I don't know if there are parts that the bleach comes into contact with that it could corrode. I'm sure it depends on which pump you have.
  24. should i buy the x-jet????????

Wow, sorry I missed this thread earlier, and glad you brought it back up, Alan! Ronp: Yes, friction loss is a small factor in the reason why one 1" hole in a bucket drains faster than two 1/2" holes...but the primary reason is that a 1" hole has twice the area as two 1/2" holes. Pi(r*r)... 3.14*1*1=3.14" 3.14*.5*.5=1.57
  25. Full time or part time?

John T: I agree totally. I don't understand people jumping out and selling their equipment. Heck, worst case get a job and store the equipment until things get better...wash part time if you have to. What I think happens to some folks is that they get in thinking it is easy money, easy work, and they find they don't like it as much as they thought....so when things get tight there's their excuse to get out. As you said, some refuse to fail, some refuse to succeed, and some are caught in the middle. It is the same with any business. Some will excel, some will do OK, and some will shut down.
