A downstreamer is basically an Xjet that you place between the pump and your pressure hose that draws chems from a tank, bucket, or whatever you keep your chems in. They typically don't draw as well as the Xjet, but for most jobs, you don't need to draw as well as the Xjet. Oh, and they typically cost 1/6 what an Xjet costs...The downstreamers I use cost around $20.00. I went the stainless route, but found the cheaper ones work as well, and last as long, for less than 1/2 the cost. The benefit is that you use less chem, and you leave your chems on the trailer rather than mixing them at the jobsite and dragging them around the house. This is a downstreamer
-
The best technique I have learned is to stick the Xjet back in the box, hide it on the trailer, and get a good downstreamer! However, to answer your question, yes, the Xjet will work with that machine, you may just need to cut down your chemical mix a bit, since the Xjet will be injecting 2.5gpm into your 2gpm of water, making your chem/water ration over 50%. It'll work, you'll just spend more time rinsing...and remember, you don't need pressure...you need good chems and plenty of water. The machine you're talking about isn't weak because it is only 2300psi. That's too much for anything other than concrete or brick. That machine is weak because it is only 2gpm...making rinsing take much longer.

Collecting after the job.
Mike Williamson replied to Jarrod's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I don't do nearly the commercial stuff you do, but even with my commercial accounts, I'm paid within a couple weeks...Burger King usually pays withing 3 days..I fax the invoice over Monday, I have a check by Thursday. It does help that most of my HOA/Condo stuff is from the company I used to be employed by, and still do accounting and apartment management projects for...I can walk in with an invoice and ask for a check no problem, most of the time. I've only been stiffed once, and that was a slimeball trying to blame me for damaging his boat and get a free roof cleaning. I just let it go after a few letters. Not worth the hassle. But I'm not going to let one dirtbag ruin it for all my customers. I've just been busy with all kinds of things...washing is slow, so I'm doing quite a bit of property management/accounting work to fill in the gaps, which means I'm not on here as much. This has been a TERRIBLE winter for business!!! Michael is getting big! 17 months and a few days...time flies, but it's great! I wouldn't trade my life for anything, despite the ups and downs of business and finances and all that stuff. As long as the three of us are healthy and happy, then life is great!!! -
Collecting after the job.
Mike Williamson replied to Jarrod's question in Residential Pressure Washing
When I speak to the customer beforehand, I tell them I'll leave a bill and ask if they'll just drop a check in the mail the next day (if they're not going to be at home). I don't like to ask for a check to be left, unless it is a repeat customer who knows me. I want them to be satisfied that the job is done to their expectations (or beyond) before they write the check. Usually the check arrives within a few days...every once in a while it takes a bit longer, and I've had a few go 2-3 weeks...one guy left town and forgot to pay...gave me a $25.00 bonus when he got back 3 weeks later. I noticed earlier this year that I had a LOT more slow payers...but that's more or less stopped. If things are particularly tight, I'll leave a note on the bill that I'll be back later that evening to collect a check, but I don't often need to do that. -
I can say with complete honesty that *I* have the coolest and most fun Avatar!!

Wouldn't that be the "choche"?? :) -
Unions typically aren't good for anyone. You miss the point (I hope). She was told "No, you can't have the time off" and she took it ANYWAY. If the rules say "No one takes off during the "holidays", then why would someone think that just because they ask 4 months in advance, they should be entitled to the time off, AND should be entitled to take the time anyway once they're told no???
-
Well good for her! And anyone wanting to spend a lot of time with family during the holidays really should re-think the concept of getting a job at a retailer who is going to be horribly busy during those holidays! Was Walmart expecting her to work 16 hours a day, 7 days/week? If not, didn't she have plenty of time for family when she wasn't working? There are a LOT of people who didn't get to take a vacation during the holidays...That's just the nature of retail.
-
Let's see...requested time off during one of the busiest times of the year, was denied, and took the time off anyway? I'd have fired her too. Isn't it wise to request time off BEFORE buying tickets/making plans??? My wife works a great company, but if she requested time off, was denied because she couldn't be spared by the company at that time, and took the time off anyway, she'd be fired. Doesn't matter if she requested it a year in advance, if she was denied, she deserved to be fired if she just took off anyway. Is your mother in law an executive? If not, she shouldn't expect to have the same benefits as an executive. To expect the executives to work in their offices simply because the stores are busy is just silly...That argument doesn't hold water. Sorry. Hope the trip was worth it!

Well, as with anything else dealing with a mega-corporation like Walmart, I'm sure that's at least a slight exaggeration. I doubt if you develop pneumonia and are admitted to the hospital, or if you have a baby, or if you fall off your roof and break a leg, that Walmart will fire you for not working Christmas Eve. However, I CAN understand their expectation that employees work those days, which are some of their busiest days...When you go to work in retail, you know you're going to have to work weekends, holidays, busy times. I used to work in a small grocery store as a meatcutter...We were open Saturdays, and that was by far our busiest day. No one ever got off work on Saturdays, except in extremem situations or if they were on vacation that week. You just accepted that you have to work...It doesn't make Walmart evil for expecting people to work during the busy times...That's what they're there for.

Of course they do...because they hang on to it...

What method do you use for cleaning Cages?
Mike Williamson replied to Kory's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Ditto all that. I downstream, and usually have no need for a 2nd application. You just have to let it dwell for a bit. I did have one that was so bad I used the shurflo and my roof mix (3-4% SH) to get it clean, but that isn't typical. -

Yep, he took the page down the next day, after, of course, claiming he had permission from all parties involved. -

You don't even have to print and scan...just do a "print screen" to the clipboard, and paste it into a photo editor, crop out the garbage, and you have the picture. -
The first season is by far the best...
-
Nope, haven't seen anything since the 24th episode of season 5
-
Well AWESOME then! I wonder if they're going to do this with all the discs?

I HAVE a dish... Thanks to Congress, I can't get any network for which there is an affiliate station within 75 miles of my home. That kills ABC and Fox. Direct TV offers local stations via dish in many areas, but not in mine. So, my only solution is an antennae, but I don't care that much about stuff on ABC or Fox...24 is the only Fox show I like. Just not worth the hassle of putting up a good outdoor antennae so I can watch one hour of Fox each week.
-
No way...The first 4 hours haven't aired yet, have they? I saw the season premier disk for sale somewhere, but I assumed it was just the Prevue disk...Season 4 had a season 5 prevue disk, but season 5 didn't have a season 6 prevue disk. That'd be AWESOME if they'd release each disk as the episodes air....no waiting for next December to get them.
-
LOL! My wife and I have been known to stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning, saying "just one more episode, THEN we'll go to bed...That stuff is addicting! We don't get Fox, so I have to wait until it comes out on DVD, unless Fox decides to put the episodes on the web, but they appear to be the only network who is not doing so at this point.

Watching the sopranos is like watching the scene of a bad accident...It's nasty, gross, not something you really want or need to be looking at...but for some reason, you can't stop looking. Kinda like that other series HBO had...OZ.

Oh come on now...no spoilers for those of us who haven't seen it yet!!!! Jeeeez
