I've had it! today, I am officaly retiring my sponge boots. I'm pretty sure I'm a prime candidate for foot fungus, seeing as how my feet are wet for 10 hours a day. I appreciate all of the footware input and have decided to replace my Walmart brand "Survivors" with Georgia Mud Boots. Tommorow I plan to take my stinky, wet, used, fungus infested, Supposed Waterproof, Survivours back to Walmart for a refund.

Rod, maybe you should look into adding on a PW'ing reapair business. Sounds like there's a need for it in that area. :lgmoneyey

I think FL is around $35 a year.

I agree, you could very well find a rig 5 states away that, even after factoring in a couple hundred dollars in travel expences, in the end, costs you less than the best deal closest to you. You yourself said it seems that no one is selling used rigs near you, well if thats the case, than in theory rigs should be selling a good bit less in other parts of the country where supply is plentyfull. Supply and demand basics: the higher the supply the less the demand, which equalls lower prices.

Has anyone seen this?
CCPC replied to seymore's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
This wouldn't be a problem around here, as most in this area have decks built, do absoululty nothing to them, and when the deck becomes unsafe to walk on in 10 years they tear it out and build another one. -
I have a house to wash next week and they want their back porch, which has indoor outdoor carpeting, cleaned. My question is, anyone have some suggestions to what I could use to remove mildew off of the walls of this screen porch without damaging the carpet beneath. I've cleaned a lot of backporchs, but this would be the first with indoor/outdoor carpeting. My regular house wash mix consists of Chlorine and Emuslifer Plus, so I'm obviously a little concerned about bleaching their carpets if I was to use my regular housewash mix. My main concern is to remove the mildew safely and effeciently.

What kind of chemical at a high alkaline? Scott is right, down here sodium hypochlorite is a must in some form or another. If I tried to use just a high alkaline soap of some kind I would be there for ever and still never achieve the kind of results I can with Chlorine. I need to start taking some pictures of the kind of mildew buildup I encounter. I,ve had mildew on houses that was so bad in certain spots that I had to apply full strength chlorine as many as three times to remove it. Anyway, back to the screened porch. I'm not trying to clean the carpet, I'm trying to clean the walls of the porch without damagin the carpet. The carpet is not the plastic green turf lookin stuff its more like a low nap beigh colored carpet. Gary mentioned an oxegenated bleach, does anybody else think that may work? Can Oxgenated bleachs stain carpet? Can Oxgenated bleachs remove mildew on sideing? Or does anyone have another suggestion of a chem that would clean the mildew and not bleach out the carpet. I will be doing this job tommorow morning so I need to come up with some kind of plan today. Thanks for all of the input.

Amen to that! I hate the Patriots! We get the first and probably only Super Bowl in Jax for the next 30 years and its got-a-be a team as irratating and borring as the Patriots. I hope the Eagles destroy em. P.S. Is it me, or does Tom Brady seem like a stuck up little s**t.

No sweet here. just chemical infested water.

Scott, are the mud dawgs rubber or leather?
-
No its not from the pant leg running down. Its defenitely coming either through the leather, or through the seems of the sole. This seems to happen especialy when doing roofs, which leaves the boots pretty wet for hours on end. I hate the rubber boots also. I used rubber boots for almost two years and hated every minute of it.

Another reason I have a P.O. Box is that my town requires it. They will not issue you a Occupational license without proof of a P.O. Box. Of course that's only if you run a business out of your home. Not to beat this horse till its dead, but I think some of you are still missing the point I'm trying to make, but I'm getting a bit bored with this topic so I guess I'll just leave it at that.

Its not about what happens if you did a customer wrong, its about making a prospective customer comfortable with doing business with you from the get go. Once you have done work for them, and they see what your all about, you could run your business out of a tent and they wouldn't care.
-
I agree. two benifits I like with the post office vs. other mail center options is its cheaper and I have access to the P.O. Box lobby 24 hours a day.
-
I work out of my home and I use a P.O. Box for most of business mail. I believe its a good idea to always keep business seperate from personal. The only downfall with P.O. Boxs is it may make prospective clients a little bit weary to do business with you. Customers like a physical address as to where they can find you if need be. Actually, one of the main reasons I use a P.O. Box is because I rent the house I live in now and would rather not use my home address until I settled in a place I know I will be for a while. Homeownership... I can't wait.

Anybody have experience Cleaning the fabric, orange Hooters awnings? I've got to give an estimate on some and am not quite sure what chem I should use. The awnings are a bit fadded from the sun, and they have a little mildew. I've always just used a a little detergent and chlorine on the green and white striped ones, but these are a bit more fadded than ones I've done in the past. Any chemicals that could maybee bring back the color as well as clean? Any thoughts would be great.

Stainless steel quick disconnects?
CCPC replied to seymore's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I use the stainless on my shurflo setups which I use primarly for applying 4-6% chlorine to roofs. I use mainly the generic SS because it seems under those condions the name brand and generic SS couplers seem to degrade and rust rather quickly. -
Craig, Do you tow a trailer behind your van, or do yo find the room inside adaquete enough? I'm still considering for my next set up wether to go box truck or large van. I was concerned about the available sqftage and interior height of a van opposed to a box truck.

Scott, I've been at the T-Birds on Baymeadows a few times a couple of years back, but don't get over to Jax Beach that often. Never been to Papa's. That's one of the problems with Jacksonville; its to spread out; it takes forever to get from one side to the other. That's a long drive home at 2:30am drinking or not. -
