Marko you should be sorry, don't know and don't care what you guys are fighting over but stop posting it all over the board! I'm sure Beth and Rod are probably at ACR today, but can one of the mods put a stop to this? Why are you creating more work for the peolple who run the boards, your dispute has nothing to do with them.

Hey Phil, Middletown is just on the edge of my range, I try to stay west of the Parkway.
Business was excellent right up to Mid-Sept, then it fell off a cliff. You know this area, everyone commutes to the city and 25% or more of my customers work in financial services.
Everyone is scared to spend any $ right now!
How's things out by you?

Is November the best month to wash a house?
John Doherty replied to James's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I like the fall too for all the reasons Jim stated, but as Dan noted the gutters are kinda out of the question. It's a great time for roof cleaning too. -

How many uses for duct tape are there?
John Doherty replied to Beth n Rod's question in The Club House
Certain types of cysts if covered with duct tape for a day or two will start to drain. -
Hi everyone - Newbie trying to get started
John Doherty replied to ls1cameric's question in Residential Pressure Washing
First find a contractor outside your area who will let you do some labor for learning. Try and find a one man outfit (that'll be you to begin with) and spend 3 full days with them. Then think if this is the business you want to get into. -
You would have to be using a pretty strong mix to have any effect on the roof stains. But better safe then sorry, and you're not really adding any significant job time by wetting the roof. I wish my house mix worked on roof stains!

Free estimates for jobs worth less than $500?
John Doherty replied to plainpainter's topic in Business Topics & Tips
Dan, Try this first. H/O: I'd like an estimate to have my house done blah blah. Dan: Sure be happy too: When was the last time you had it done? Who did it for you? Where you happy with the job? Where are they now? These all help you qualify the h/o. -Never been done, they have no idea on what the price should be. -Son who moved away to school used to do it, same thing as to price. -Guy couldn't reach up to second story, or left wand marks, etc. -Guy who did it last time's phone is disconnected. etc. These are all opportunities to get correct pricing into there heads before you go out the door. They also give you entry points to sell quality over price. Dan: Yeah the guys who charge $199 usually don't last long, if you think about it with gas prices where they are, going out to an estimate and then going to do the job costs $50 in gas alone. That's not even counting time, contractor grade soaps and professional equipment, blah, blah, blah. Find ways to plant the seed early. -

It is a conflict of interest, full disclosure to the other board members must be made and this individual must recuse themselves from the vote. If they didn't disclose it or recuse themselves from any vote on the matter it is a violation of fiduciary duty—specifically, duty of loyalty. Duty of loyalty requires that board members act for the association's benefit only, without regard for any personal interest the directors may have. Violation of any fiduciary duty could lead to legal action against the association or an individual board member. This is to protect the residents not you. What can you do? Nothing, let it go, only the residents would have any standing, not you.

Pics or sources for reel mounts?
John Doherty replied to MMI Enterprises's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I thought about getting one of those sliding beds and putting a reel on that, reel might be too high though to conceal entirely. -
New to Residential Pressure Washing
John Doherty replied to buc21jrs3's question in Residential Pressure Washing
James please fill in your signature, people will be more responsive if they know who you are, and where you are. The problem may be your mix, you need sodium hypochlorite (chlorine or bleach) not sodium hydroxide. If that was a typo and you are using sodium hypochlorite let us know what method and type of equipment you are using, then maybe we can help with the proportions. -
I only use it as a straight mix for the Bandit or 5800, cleans great and is easy to rinse. I never really see it foam up, just light bubbling.

Help! I think I have wand marks!
John Doherty replied to Mary Fallon's topic in DIY'ers - Ask The Pro's
Don't bet on it Lance, NJ is one of the most consumer friendly states in the country. Issues like this consumers are allowed 'treble damages'. That means that if the problem is fixable for $1000, the co may have to pay up to 3xs that amount ($3000) as punishment. We don't all say "NJ HATES SMALL BUSINESS" for nothing! -
Help! I think I have wand marks!
John Doherty replied to Mary Fallon's topic in DIY'ers - Ask The Pro's
Mary I would give him a chance to rectify it, the reason the folks commenting here knew what this was is because it does happen every now and then (although yours is pretty bad). If he recommends any of the methods mentioned here he is on the right track. Is he a licensed home improvement contractor? In NJ he is required to be, if he isn't and a complaint is lodged with NJDCA, the fines are pretty hefty. If the bill was over $500 he is also required to have you both sign a contract. NJDCA is 800 242 5846 The one thing I don't like is the waiting until Saturday thing. If I ever get a complaint I'm there personally that day or by the next morning. I wish you luck, keep us posted. -

Scott, What color is the background to be printed/embroidered on? I really like the colored logo and don't care for the black and white.
