  1. I've seen strange patterns before too. For me they followed the stud lines of the framing.

My assumption is the studs or walls in some way effects either the condensation on the home exterior or the temperature in those spots.

This either increases or slows down the oxidation in those spots.

I say condensation, because when I've seen it it's been early morning and the home is covered in dew except along those spots.

In the picture they are verticle lines above the shadows.

  2. Aaron I think you've already got the answer, sounds like the uv exposure caused the oxidation.

As far as fault goes, who are you going to blame, the sun?

We all hate to do jobs where we don't make money, or even lose money, but sometimes you have to take it in the shorts.

You really have to paint that side of the house for this guy.

The action you take here will define you and your company.

  3. How about an advisory board that selects who the newcomers are that get access to what type of information?

You want to know what I use to clean a roof, provide me with an insurance cert. That shows you've made at least that much of a commitment to the industry.

You want to know about the business in general, great, you get access to all that info you want.

Anything more specific and you need to prove you are at least responsible enough that if you damage someone's property it'll be taken care of.

  4. Yes well, I am a winner, I'm happy to accept this tremendous honor, and I hope I don't let you all down.

It's only through hard work, determination, clean living, the love of my family, and my faith in God that I was able to persevere, and ultimatly become, 'The Wand Winner'.

There are so many people I'd like to thank, I'm not sure where to begin, I'd like to thank the 'Institute' and all it's members, the Brown family who's home is pictured, and also my ex, she ended up with everything I owned, but she did let me keep the camera I took the picture with.

I'd like to thank Ron for sponsoring the board and the contest and Russ, for breathing new life there these last few months.

Well as for you losers, and you know who you are, what can I say, your pictures stunk. The combination of excellent workmanship, remembering where I stood before and after the job, good lighting, and a steady hand won the day.

    Better luck next time losers!

  5. Only problem I ever had was a wire inside one of the heads frayed, was an easy fix.

It was my fault, the head cover wasn't secured well enough to the drum so it was bouncung around while driving.

Otherwise they were great while I needed them.

Very cost effective, more powerful, and could take more abuse than any of the purpose built stuff I've seen.

  6. I don't mind the music at all, but I'm not a big fan of sound on websites either. I think it follows the pace fine, more of a personal pref I guess.

I think it lools really good, and seeing it on your site obviously puts it in much better context then the Youtube video.

I'd maybe change show piece to showplace, and cap the if in the beginning.

All in all I think it's a great addition to your site.

  7. Giants weren't even playing championship caliber football until week 17. They are a different team than they were all season long.

If they play with the focus they've had in the last 4 games, it should at least be an interesting game.

If this is Eli finally coming into his own, well it took long enough.

I've been saying all season Eli's gotta go, that won't happen until they get rid of Coughlin, but a win in the bowl could change my mind.

  8. Good for you guys staying positive! We are letting ourselves be talked into a recession. This drives me nuts, are you feeling a recession? Did your business grow last year?

GDP is still forcast to grow, just at a slower rate.

Let's keep scaring people so they decide to hold on to the $500-$1000 for upkeep of their property for another year.

Inflation was higher in May, June, and July of last year, and in Sept & October 05, and in 1991,1990,1989,1988, and 1987.

The highest rate was actually in March 1980 @ 14.76 at the beginning of the Reagan Admin, due to the doomed economy from the Carter Admin.

I don't believe the hype, but I worry about what effect the hype will have!

  9. Ron you must be thinking of workmans comp, not GL. Regardless if you have no employees or 100, you must must must have GL.

Housewash and a bad light fixture or outlet causes a fire? I have nightmares about that!

Not having at least GL of $300k for the $6-$700 is just crazy, a million for a hundred or 2 more is better.

Daniel you need to check your 'partners' too, they do some damage to a persons home and you'll be on the hook. You are open to a great deal of exposure without it!

  10. Just wait and see these when these illegal folks start competing with us all directly as business owners.

I see it here already, no language barrier, a workforce that is more reliable and will outwork anyone you can find, even at the same hourly rate.

No bad attitudes either, we grew up with the 'one day you can be president' mentality, so most idiots we hire think they know more than they do, or have a better way to do things.

Not so with the illegal folks, they grew up with a 'you work and get paid and feed your family' attitude.

We don't need innovators, we need guys who will show up on time every day ready to work, not &itch and moan, and follow simple instructions.

We're going to have some real challenges ahead.
