I have a buddy who took the builders test and now has his license. He sure can't build a house though. He took it just to see if he would pass it. Having a license has really no bearing on the quality of work you will put out. Just a way for a state to find you when you screw a consumer (Protects consumer), and also helps you if you get the same from a consumer, (Protects you) from non pay. (Lien)

I want to be a weather man. It's one of the few jobs that I know of, that you can always be wrong and still get paid, without consequences.It's either dust off the plow and when you do it hits 50 Deg.Then you grab the equipment to go clean and then it snows.

I might just start watching the birds. If they are at the bird feeder then no weather, and if they are gone then somethings coming. LOL

What really gets me is that in lower Michigan we have all of these weather channels. They all have every month it seems new equipment. From the doppler 1000, then doppler 2000, now I think they are up to the doppler 4000 or more now with live radar, and they still can't get it right. My wife and I think this is hillarious. Now when we go up northern far end of the mitten on the west end of lake michigan. They have their own weather radar system. Older from what I am told but they get it right almost evry time down to the inch and temperature. We go to the cabin near Traverse city we can actually plan the whole week ahead of time and be just fine, but here is another story. One more reason I can't wait to move.

Rich I hear you loud and clear. I must be nuts because I'm one of the few companies that will not walk away from the ones that others leave for the customer to sit with the now what look upon their face, thinking they had just called a wood restoration proffesional. I wake up in the morning looking for these PITA jobs. When I leave a proffesional result, and attitude behind that's how I get the next job. Especially in Waterford LOL

I say if any one deviates from their intended business, then they need to be licensed, and have insurance that covers it. I know of several companies who deviated away from what they were insured for and something went wrong and now they have lost insurance, and had a lawsuit which in turn lost not just business equipment but their own personal (Home belongings) since insurance would not cover. Raking leaves and moving furniture is fine I guess , but entering a home when you are not bonded for it or replacing a electrical plug when you are not licensed for it or insured is a totally different thing. Even roofs when your not a roofer and licensed. One so called company lost everything due to a simple plug that later caught fire because he thought he would replace it, and burnt the entire house down. I know of many other mishaps that have happened. This is just a piece of advice for some that deviate a little to far for what the are supposed to be doing.

I usually can tell when the dogs go outside around 5:00AM how cold it is. How far they want to go into the back yard for bathroom time, if it's close to house then it's cold because that means they won't be staying out long.

Don't get scared it's not here yet. LOL We have just been thinking ahead as usual to keep the work coming. I have been asked every winter from my commercial customers why I don't plow. So this year we are having the plows and v Box sander/salters installed on trucks. Already informed some of the customers already and they have all jumped on the contract deal, actually thought they were going to hug me. I was never to be one for sleep so why start now, I would rather be working LOL. Every winter we would here the same thing that the other guy never showed up, even after the snow had stopped days later. So to expand the business we decided to ad this service. Going to feel wierd plowing again. Sorry if I scared every one but have to be thinking way ahead since we all know the months fly by fast. I already had to put my winter protect the equipment and house checklist together LOL. My other friend even offers Christmas lights, but I don't like the fire risk issue , with insurance or not.

I just think of the fire due to all the snow that piles on top of my own X-mas lights in the winter. Then the bulb goes out with the whole string that was advertised not to go out LOL or the overloading the circuit and strings issue. Just don't think I myself could handle the calls when the bulbs go out at all hours. From what he told me you don't make much the first year, since you have to buy all the lights and special things people will want on their lawn, but he does have some that spend over 15,000 even more for X-mas lights in the winter. I'll stick with the plow and sander LOL I don't want to be frosty the idiot on a ladder hanging off the roof looking for the bulb that went out. Easy part is always puting them up, it's the taking them down when it's cold, that sucks he said. Almost want to cut them down but you need them for next year.

Nothing irritates me more than when in a time of need, after the hurricane has left it's mark. That when people are scared, hungry, tired, no water to drink, or food, living on a roof in still crappy weather, wondering if they willl be found on said roof or in a car floating around, no where to use the bathroom, no warmth at night, no clean clothes, bath, electric, sewage filled streets, mosquitoes, giving up in most cases on life, have lost everything and maybe no money to even start over, have lost a loved one who was swept away, mssing loved ones in another state, and loved ones missing them dearly, with no contact available, that they have to deal with the looters. I hope everyone that has a loved one missing may soon be able to hold them and comfort each other with hugs and kisses, or just to know that they are allright. Even our fellow powerwashers. I hope the police and military shoot first and don't ask questions later for any looter no matter what. These band of idiots who are stealing guns from the stores and shooting them, even the one that shot that officer in the head I hope you are found and , well you know what. Jails flooded sorry you gotta go. Stealing jewerly and tv's and other items. Come on what are they going to do with this? Try to take it to the pawn shop or plug it in. Oh wait that's right no power, dumb%#$. For the police and millitary to have to stop search and rescue to deal with these band on inconsiderate idiots. That's uncalled for in my book. I understand taking food and water from a grocery store for your family and neighbors, but leave some for the others. I do not consider this looting just borrowing to survive. Who knows when they will be saved, or who needs medicine for themselves or the neighbors child who is sick. My prayers are with everyone who is scared, hungry, thirsty, and worn out. My evil thoughts are with the ones who are causing problems, and will be painted with that scope.

Lance Forget about it. Just there has been alot of hostility on alot of the boards. Seems like if someone were to post a picture of a #2 pencil everyone would fight over it lately. I was going to post some more pics of the vacation but my headache would not let me. Sorry I went off, just thought it was starting again and I couldn't figure out why. Oh well Scott is right I do have to take my pills LOL I have been pretty much stuck at the home office for ever now since vacation. Got sick 3 days in with the wife her to, but not the kids. Almost a month now with splitting headaches that are worse than the migraines I used to get. At least those would level off these just build and build until you have to knock yourself out with meds. LOL Boy and if I have to see another doctor or hospital again I will just go run and hide somewhere. I am not allowed to go out and play and I hate it. If I go near my trucks or toys I get the where do you think your going thing. Get back where the doctor said you need to rest. LOL Yeah you know how many times I let the dogs in and out just to get out? The dogs don't mind and then I run and run LOL

There is no point. It's from the little vacation we took the kids and dogs on. They love how clear the water is for finding turtles and fish. Should there be a point about my sharing my little enjoyment I have with my family? You seem to have a problem with people you don't know.
