We've had more than 30 inches of rain in the last several Months in the Tampa area. I've only been delayed 2 days in all that. I Come to Atlanta for a Big job and it looks like we have to wait out a day or so cause of this front. Least TS karen fizzled out.

George clinton, MC Hammer, any old hip hop. Man I used to hate that music, now it's one of my favorite Pandora stations.

We see the same thing on travertine. A little strong bleach will disappear it.

Who still bangs the physical labor part of your business over 50yrs of age??
Chappy replied to John T's question in The Club House
Of course the very next day one of the guys couldn't come in. I think I need to work more just so Im ready to work when the time comes. Friday wore me out. -
Who still bangs the physical labor part of your business over 50yrs of age??
Chappy replied to John T's question in The Club House
Yeah, John. You look like your really humping it in that pic. I've finally gotten to the point that Im not behind the wand. I felt like I was falling apart, plus I have hernia surgery next week, so I had to slow down just when I'm balls to the wall busy and cant see a slow down on the horizon. My newest employee is almost 60 though. after 30 years roofing, this feels like easy work, but he's definetely not used to the florida heat. I still pull hoses, carry buckets, do what needs to be done, but no pressure washing and I get to sit in the AC wasting fuel. I feel really bad about that sometimes -
Florida rain good for roof cleaning but it causes sinkholes!!
Chappy replied to John T's question in The Club House
Rain rarely causes sinkholes. It can because the acids erode the limestone. However, It is typically caused by the severe overpumping of groundwater. Central florida is more prone to them. So, join the crowd, john, just please don't complain when ground opens up. Or when your dog gets eaten by an alligator, our a hurricane comes through. Every year the news shows some transplant whos dog got et saying" no one told me about alligators", or "they charge extra for sinkhole coverage?" -

Yeah, I had to give up my TR6 when my first child came. Too much money to keep one for a hobby.... And Im not sure which of the two that statement attaches more appropriately to.

Why clients need to tell the truth
Chappy replied to Kristopher Pettitt's question in Residential Pressure Washing
you can't get out every stain. I've gotten to the point that I do not proposals based on description and online measurements. The phrase "as possible" in relation to removing stains is prominent in my agreements to avoid these problems. -
Who's sending out these roof cleaning Org. joke emails?
Chappy replied to John T's question in The Club House
Oh seriously. Of course its a joke. Pretty funny too! -
In 2010 I started pushing Paver sealing. Now I do 80% of my business with it. I'll still bid on commercial work and I'll do pressure washing of im already doing pavers.

Who's still here on TGS from it first year in 2003?
Chappy replied to John T's question in The Club House
I cant beleive this board only started in 2003! When i found it in 2005 or 2006 it had so much info on it I would never have guessed it was only a couple years old! I got so much info here that the first deck estimate i went on I landed because I knew so much more than the next guy. WOW! Thanks again Beth and Rod. -
It can be used for concrete, but I don't. I've even seen it used on a fence once with some tint in it and it actually looked very nice. But again I wouldn't use it. Other things are better and I believe in using products for what they were meant for and SNL was meant for pavers. The only codicil on that is travertine and natural stone. Its fabulous on those, but takes radically different application techniques. You should really call Seal n lock and see when a local training session is happening. Attend it and see what it will do for your business. Plus, feel free to call me. I have no qualms about helping out other contractors on the use of SealNLock. But you need to go to a class. PS. Fix your signature. Im happy to help, but like to know who Im talking to. (Im surprised the signature police havn't gotten on you yet.)

Seriously? Do a search under Paver sealing. I've been preaching seal n lock for five years now. Some don't like it but its saved my business! I had given up sealing until I ran across it. Now every manufacturer has a knock off,

If all you are doing is cleaning and resanding before sealing then no. you can pull a few pavers here and there and level them out easily. If you need to level ruts, you might want to bring in some one experienced. Pulling more than a few and compacting isn't a job you want to take on without some experience of you will be cursing your neighbor and she you for a long while.

I don't see how your lease has anything to do with maintenance. Maybe you expected more than was written in the lease? Or you wanted more than what was on a true lease? I have two leases for my two skid units. I couldn't ask for better terms and for 36 months I have much more equipment than I could have had for the cash I had on hand. Plus having that cash slowed me to pay off my truck early, buy a new trailer with cash, and be able to expand in ways I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. I think its the best decision I ever made. Im willing to bet you'll find as many that are happy as the opposite. Dont just settle for the terms your local dealer gives you. There are plenty of leasing companies nationwide to compare. Doing one that works for you. As for tax benefits, they will be different in canada than here. But congress can change any tax benefit at any time, so you can't use that as the only consideration.

Candidate Ryan lets down owner of Pressure Washing Company
Chappy replied to Beth n Rod's question in The Club House
Awww! That mean Paul Ryan didn't I use his awesome powers to force the mean Epa to accept the poor, destitute pw'ers contract! What a bad man! im changing my vote right now. What stupidity. If he had done more, wom how would that story have been written. 'Ryan causes power washers to lose contact to company sending unsolicited bids!' Seriously! Can't you people find better ways to bash Ryan. -

When do you draw the line on showing contractors in your area "The Ropes"?
Chappy replied to John T's question in The Club House
I would rather have friends in competition with me than enemies. I will give advice and help to anyone who asks and get calls from all over the country. I see so much bad work in the paver sealing biz that if I can keep someone from having a ruined paver deck by telling a competitor how to do it right, I will. I will tell them how to price also because everyone already undercuts me so what the hell. That has worked well because many competitors have brought up their pricing. They figure if this fool can get that kind of money, they can too! So we all win. -
Thats the reason I don't work with concrete sealing. Too many problems that I don't have the time to spend on. Thanks for the education Craig. That is something that I have never heard before.
