I think that next time one is forcast to be so close, I will prepare a little more carefully. didnt like what I saw in those pictures. I just realized how appropo my avatar is.
  4. Hurricane Charley

ive lived in tampa bay for about 19 years now. never got hit by a hurricane, just grazed. this one was serious and was supposed to hit us dead on. highest ever level of evacuation. spent all morning friday helping neighbors board up and get ready. lots of people wnet to Orlando to ride it out, and guess what? went right over Orlando. we ended up with about 1/2 inch of rain and no wind. Its funny, but a lot of people are dissapointed that it didnt hit us. But after seeing the pictures of Punta Gorda, they realize these things really arent a joke. I feel for the people who got hit. thanks for your thoughs guys. But you know, as bad as hurricanes are, they rarely do as much damage as tornadoes or floods in the midwest or earthquakes in CA
  5. this is my first deck. did the cleaning while on vacation in the NC Mountains. belongs to my dad. was able to clean and brighten it. but the rain kept me from sealing it. it had some type of stain from home depot on it. about 3 years old. took 3 hd80 treatments to get it off. then brightened with a Wollman product.
  6. first deck

Finall stopped raining long enough for dad to stain it. used cabot semi transparent- cedar. 2.5 gallons. he said it was very easy to use. brushed the whole thing. I still take credit for the deck.

  9. 1 Down 92 to Go........

The first pictures make them look so much bigger. I love those results. I did a lot of awning research, went out knocking on doors, did a couple with what I had available, that turned out great, then ordered the starter kit from one of the companies that specialize in awning chems. Started handing out professional flyers, showing the pics of my work, and.... havnt gotten one job since. I think I over knowledged myself. Too much research. Que sera!
  10. I looked at home depot, no such thing, and no one could figure out what I was talking about. do you have a specific brand or name it comes under?
  11. You know, this is a really good idea. I had a place that did some therapy for my kid when he was little, I know they could use a cleanup, and I owe them one. cant do it this week, but Im going to offer for whenever they do.
  12. Pump warm up?

I had a similar problem recently, in that each time I idled for a couple minutes or more, It took 30 to 60 seconds to get full pressure back. I took the unloader out, and there was just the tiniest amount of dirt in it, cleaned it out, and no more problems! might want to give that a try.
  13. Tree Limbs On Roofs

Carpenter ants! I cleaned this guys tile roof last month that had years worth of leaves in each valley and packed full gutters. I dont know how many seperate carpenter nests I disturbed, but I was brushing ants off me the whole time. wish I had taken pictures of the 3 foot tall and 1 foot wide bromolaid growing in the valley. He wanted to make it look nice for selling! Jeez.
  14. Tree Limbs On Roofs

if there small limbs, offer to cut them down for them, for a fee of course. I only ran into it once and priced it into the roof cleaning to cut them back enough to work. couldnt say what to do if there big, but they probably arent good to have laying on the roof and probably should be removed. I know here it is advised to cut limbs back, mostly for storm purposes, I think
  15. byoungster, How did you wire it? what model. was it a garage door type remote or a lighting/fan type remote. I went to HD today and was lost. (no I found my way about.) the guys there didnt have any ideas.
  16. I held it as close as 2 feet. If a screen is going to tear, it will tear with any tip held too close. I did blast one screen out, but the homeowner said it was very degraded. what I look for now is whitish spots on the screen, that tells me it will probably tear.
  17. I did one screen enclosure that was full of oak pollen, very similar in that it works its way into the holes and just doesnt blow out. the roto jet did wonders. it works like a tornado and just twists them out. cant see why it wouldnt work on pine needles. the homeowner said that he just had his lawn guy blow as much off as he could, and I probably couldnt make a difference. His screen was spotless when I got done!

  24. is gray away a cleaner? if so what about water issues.
  25. Did You Know? Tile & Grout Issues

You can also use a product called Quarry Tile Cleaner, It is an acid based product that will really bring out the tough stains, need to brush it with stiff brush and then rinse. EcoLab makes it along with other manufacturers. can probably pick it up at any restaraunt supply house.
