I'll third that. You took the words right out of my mouth, Barry. I say what's on my mind and for better or for worse an org is worthless unless it's gets the message of professionalism out to the public. So far what's been done has been unimpressive. What will I do as an individual? I will operate with integrity and professionalism. I will educate the public. I will continue to learn and better my skills in my chosen profession and then pass on that knowlege to the newcomer.

Bridge over troubling water

Very nice job, Jim. Kudos for doing the right thing and being enviroment concious. -

replacing boards
PressurePros replied to Chappy's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Steve has it. You want to apply the stripper and acid to the new boards to "age" them so the difference when you stain/seal is not so dramatic. -
I use a 00300 on a 5.5 gom machine. On a 4 gpm a 00250 would probably work well.

Here is just a typical sample of a house cleaned by downstreaming. All work was done from the ground, which is a whole 'nother debate. PS: I couldn't get thse to load as attachments. They are hosted at photobucket. I'll try and resize them and resubmit as attachments later.

Saying "switch to downstreaming" would be too encompassing but I will tell you that I encounter none of the inherent problems I have with the X-Jet when I can downstream detergent. If a house has siding it is not neccessary to use an X-Jet. In fact my houses turn out more uniform and I use FAR less chemical. If you speed up and try to "beat the clock" and get your chemicals on faster with the X-Jet, I can guarantee you you are going to miss many spots that run parallel to the ground. Downstreaming provides the luxury of slower pace, re-treating harder to clean spots and I get a true 50 ft of chemical stream with the right nozzle. I'll add some photos. As to your gutters. My guess is that they were installed at different times and are of differing quality. No matter what you do to some gutters they will not come up white and shiny.

Timbersil
PressurePros replied to Dale's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
LOL, sweet send some my way! I will dedicate and name a pallet "Shane" I will be publishing my copy of "Kensumer Reports" in the spring. Placing an ad in my magazine will absolutely bias my findings. -

I think it would be okay for deck structure such as posts and joists, stuff that is never intended by a homeonwer to be stained or sealed. Supposedly this stuff can be painted or stained but I cannot understand how something that serves to act as a moisture barrier and serve to increase density would allow sealer to penetrate. I am assuming they mean some type of solid stain? I've done as much research as I care to at this point. If someone wants to send me samples of product I'll be happy to add it to my 15 or so projects out back and let the world know what my results are. -
Who do you use for your website hosting, how reliable is your server, and how much does it cost you (setup fees, domain name etc)?

What Do My Mentors Think?
PressurePros replied to StainlessDeal's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Celeste, what's wrong with ten pumps, three small engines, fifteen wood pallets and a few hundred pounds of masonry from various demolition sites? A man's gotta play! -

I'm with you, Scott. If the pump is bad, the engine is probably fine. You could hook up a roller pump..something that outputs 12 gpm at 300 psi and have a killer chemical pump / housewash rig. Even if you get it for $50 it's well worth the play time (if you have it to spare) -

Favorites are wood resto and house washing I don't enjoy flatwork..too boring and monotonous. Roofs are not a favorite either. -

Solid stained deck
PressurePros replied to RogerG's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Nice job brent. What was on there? I would have hit you for at least two grand on deck that size with that many rails and steps. Edited: With that square footage, make that three grand. -

:lgbow: Damn, Shane. You should think about upgrading that dinosaur LOL. I use Avant browser which utilizes the IE engine (which I thought Mozilla did as well?) Anyway I like the tabbed browsing also. Question for you.. How do I setup Outlook to read the mail on my website? There was some type of script built into the site architecture but I get error messages when trying to use it. Are there better mail readers? I have gotten spoiled using web mail and since you are a definite guru perhaps you can guide me? PS: I like CCleaner as well and I use adaware but I find that it doesn't pick up everything. I've been using shareware of Spyware Doctor.. it has no limitations and it finds a ton of adware. It also doesn't eliminate vital registry entries.

Wow, no wonder you didn't want to accept CC's. What bank/processing company wanted all of that?

Solid stained deck

Acrylics should be outlawed. Nice job Roger, I know what goes into this type of project. -
Does anyone have a suggestion for a company that fields phone calls? I need full time customer service but not to the extent of opening a nice office with a full time person. I know they are out there I just wanted to see if anyone had any info on a service they have used?
-
Great job, Adrian. Way to stay afloat. Nice growth and not a bad overhead. Continue to refine, advertise like a madman and soon you will be the larger firm everyone talks about.
-
Thank you for the good advice given so far. I cannot get too detailed but the reason I need a service is because the calls can occur 24 hours, could be in very high volume and the response would not simply be getting a name, phone number or location. To have these calls forwarded to my cell phone would limit any other activites associated with PressurePros and as of right now I am still on the streets every day. My biggest fear is incompetence on the line. I can script most customer service inquiries but if something falls outside of the script the operator would be lost. Rod, I was not aware that a service has to announce that they are not direct employees of mine. Let me ask anyone reading this.. Suppose you had called for information and were unable to get a satisfactory answer. Would a response of, "Rather than give you misinformation I am going to have the owner of the company give you a call right back" appease you or further aggravate your troubles?
