  2. House Wash Mix

Mix 1/2 Gallon Sodium Hypochlorite in 4 1/2 Gallons of water in a five Gallon pail. Add 1 to2 cups Dawn or 22.5 ozs of Barlox. Shoot mixture using the X-Jet with no proportioner. Move fast and don't linger on any section. Works every time. Ron Strickland
  3. cold weather gutters streaks

Most Chemicals don't work as well under 50 degrees. The optimal range is from 70 to 90 degrees. Normally for every 10 degree rise in temp. within this range, chems work twice as well.
  4. Sodiumhypochlorite %

Dan was right on the money. Dip your finger in it. If it's warm(not hot) to the touch, it's active. If it's cold like water, it's dead. Usually Sodium's shelf life is 60 to 90 days. It needs to be kept out of the sun in a dark place. The UV's from the sun wiil kill it eventually.
  5. Down Streaming 300ft of hose

Use a Downstream injector with a 1.8 orifice.
  6. Prostate Cancer

Hello George, In 2001, I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer after a PSA test came back with a 14.5 count. After much research on the Internet, soul searching and consultation with my Doctor, I made a decision to have the seed implants. On September 1st, I received an injection to shrink the Prostrate down to under a 4 and did 21 days of radiation to assure that it didn't spread. They did the proceedure in October, 2001 and since then my Psa has been O. (flat lined). I go to the Doc every 6 months and as far as we are concerned, I'm cured. The worst part of the entire process was the biopsy which obviosly you have had. Everything else was a piece of cake. I'm not trying to sway your decision, but talk to your Doctor. The success rate with with this 14 year old procedure is about 95%. They did the operation in the morning and I went home that afternoon. They put me under with some good s--t. I was back at work in 4 days. If you would like to talk, Email me at rstrick1@verizon.net and send me your phone number. Best of Luck, Ron
  7. House Washing Chemical

Does anyone use anything other than Sodium Hypochlorite to clean houses? A lot of Exterminating companys claim that Sodium distroys their treatments.
  8. Overkill?

Ryan, Dumon Chemical makes a product called "PEEL AWAY". It is a poltice application and they claim it will take away several layers at a time. We sold it at Xterior Sales and Service and had good results. Glaxo Smith Kline used it to strip interior doors. Search Dumon on the internet or call Mike Baker at Xterior. The number is 919-779-7905. He might have inventory.
  9. Bleach Dilema

Household Bleach is 5.25% to no more than 6.25% buffered down strength. Sodium Hypochlorite(Pool Bleach) is 12.5%. When Sodium is manufactured it is about 20% but when it finally settles down it remains at 12.5%. By law it cannot be any stronger. If you own an X-Jet (original or M-5), mix 1/2 gallon to 1 gallon Sodium Hypochlorite to 4.5 to 4 gallons of water respectively with some Dawn and use no proportioner. If you are cleaning siding to remove Mildew, Mold, Algae or surface dirt; I can promise you this proceedure will work. Now you don't have to worry about breakdown percentages.
  10. Alto Simpson unit

BUY BOTH PIECES!! (If they check out) Is it a cold or hot water machine? If it's a hot water skid machine, make sure the burner cycles on and off and no smoke from the stack. Before I retired we sold that machine for $5,800.00 and the Cyclone retailed at about $ 550.00. I would say you've got yourself a DEAL. Is the washer a skid or a portable unit? Ron Strickland
  11. black streak remover

AH!! but butyl is not the only ingredient in Gutter Zap.
  12. Bleach Dilema

A sure fire way to clean a house is to mix 1/2 gallon of 12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite (Pool Bleach) to 4.5 gallons water and detergent. Apply with an X-Jet with no proportioner. It is a tried and proven process that Xterior has been using for 30 years.
  13. Sodium Hypochlorite

Good Morning Phillip, Wow!! Killer machine. I would use a #20 orifice. Call Mike at Xterior and he'll get one right out. The # is 800-983-7467.
  14. Sodium Hypochlorite

Tim Mix 1/2 gallon (medium dirt and mildew) to 1 gallon (heavy dirt and mildew) Sodium Hypochlorite in 4 1/2 to 4 gallons water in a five gallon bucket. Add 1 cup liquid detergent. Be sure and flush vegetation before and after with water. You can do this with the X-JET nozzle. Use the X-JET with no proportioner. X-JET Technology Xterior Sales and Service, Inc.
  15. Ratios

The ratios are the same in that intake hose barb is 1/4" ID
  16. The X-Jet debate

I'm really glad to see the different opinions on the X-JET nozzle. In doing this, we can address the questions that come up. Keep in mind that one of the major advantages of using the nozzle is the fact that all harmful chemicals are directed to the end of the X-JET. This allows you to bypass the chemical flow through the pump, downstream injector, gun, lance and pressure nozzle. This makes for much longer life for all of these parts. KEEP 'EM COMING.
  17. Hi Beth, Rod and All; Phillip Dolittle and I have posted an X-JET question and answer session about some technical information he requested. We both feel it will shed much light on the subject of X-JETS. We have posted all this information on the SHOWROOM FLOOR forum. Please take a look when you get a chance. Ron
  18. Chem Storage

A simple test is to put your finger in it. If it is warm to the touch, it's active. If it feels like water temperature, it's dead. The normal shelf life for Sodium is 60 to 90 days.
  19. chemical ratios

1(one) is always the chemical. The proportioner chart for the X-Jet lists the GPM's of your pump and the extreme left hand column gives you the color and dilution rate for the gpm of your pump. The first entry in the color column says "open" which means there is no proportioner in the hose barb.
