    You need to refinish your deck. I go light on chemicals around any deck or unfinished metal surface.

    Get a snowblower and 15 clients that will keep you busy for when it snows. I use to do this in college and remember seeing $500 cash in hand at the end of a day. If there isn't snow offer dump runs, pickup/delivery, house sitting. There is alway work out there you just need to be the one to get it.
