getting it right the first time
John T replied to bulletproof's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Ron P, Your amazing. Your like a talking book. You sure seem to retain alot. I on the other hand must have what they now call A.D.D. I have to go over and over something to retain it. This is the reason why I never got thru College. When I was reading the homework assignments all that was going thru my head was"Blah,Blah,Blah" just like Homer Simpson. Here's a thought for you Ron P.....Did you ever think about going to college and getting a degree in something that takes alot of retention such as LAW or something along those lines. I bet you would be good at it. -
If Kendra ever posts her story about reclaiming etc. etc. I am definitely going to read it. Sorry Beth I didn't give any imput on the PWNA here. I will when I get more time. Personally I think there doing a fine job most of the time.

I have to think about this long and hard before I post. Also I am somewhat suspicious about Roberts involvement with the enviromental end of powerwashing. Don't get me wrong I like Robert and he has been probably the number one supporter of the Powerwashing Industry. The problem I'm having with Roberts involvement is that Roberts top priority for the last bunch of years is to sell his products such as Powerwashers, Chemicals, RECLAIMING EQUIPMENT etc.etc.etc. I get the feeling that he is pushing for the powerwashers to reclaim there water. This I don't like. Its right up there with you out there powerwashing and someone watching you calls the EPA just to make things difficult for you. Then the end result is you have to spend another $10,000 just to be compliant and guess who will be selling this equipment. Its just a theory and it could be way off base but when I feel uncomfortable about something my instincts kick in.....which means I smell a rat somewhere. I just can't put my finger on where this rat is coming from.

Sounds like a job for a Street Sweeper.

HD-80 melts 5 coats of Sikkens Cetol Dek in Vegas!
John T replied to Beth n Rod's topic in Chemicals & Safety
HD80 is great stuff. On that board that you show one coat of stain, then two coats etc. down the board when you went to strip them with the HD80 did you use the same strengths of it?? Also did you let the Hd80 stay on the wood around the same amount of time for each thickness of stain?? Thanks P/S- Wish I could be there on the 22nd but my in-laws are coming over that weekend. Maybe next time. -
What are the best window cleaning tools?
John T replied to dlamontm98's topic in Window & Gutter Cleaning
A couple of different size Squeegee's(18" 12"etc.) the clothy applicator to wipe on the window washing Liquid, a Bucket long enough to fit in the clothy Applicator so it can soak up the washing liquid. Of Course Window washing Liquid. Window wiping clothes for the squeegee and also in case you have to wipe the windows in some area's. These window wiping clothes work much better then towels because they don't leave behind lint on the windows. Also an extension pole to put the Squeegee on if the windows are to high up. I have a couple of different height poles that I carry around in my trailer. Also make sure you have your work order or whatever it is that says your are to clean these windows. When you complete them have someone in the bank sign, date and print there name where it says the work is completed so you don't get screwed out of money owed. Preferably a bank manager signature if you can get it. I Have a question for you. How much is a bank willing to pay for your services?? is it a once a month account or once a week?? -
Chuck, Check your email and let me know what you think. Thanks

Wood Cleaning
John T replied to misskriss's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Beth the Administrator right here sells it on her website www.seedirtrun.com As for who manufactures it I'm sure she knows. HD80 is a great stripper. I've used it myself a couple of times last year and hope to make alot more $$$$ using it this year. -
I know Beth is doing some classes at the PWNA Convention but if you read her initial thread here it says that she is also doing a show in Germantown which Chuck Richard first told me about it. I may meet him there on that date if I have him pick up my rig.
-
Where exactly in Germantown do you plan on having this Seminar and what happens if it rains that day??
-
Beth, Since when did you make detective?:) Thats exactly what we are talking about. IF all goes well you might just see me at your seminar..checking out the stripping show and playing with my rig :D Seriously this show would be cool because stripping is my least knowledgeable thing when it comes to doing decks.I try to avoid these type of jobs but I already have 2 booked for April. Hopefully I'll see you there.

Chuck, I just e-mailed you again. I think we are in agreement as to a price. I will let you know by Wednesday of this week on what I am going to do. Let me know by e-mail on what you think. Thanks
-
Chuck Richard, I sent you an e-mail. I am Considering your offer. Let me know about the price that I sent you via e-mail. I went to www.mapquest.com and checked the Driving Distance from your Cousins place Amarillo TX to Mesa AZ (85213) it comes out to about 760 miles there. So it would be aprox 1500 miles roundtrip further then you would have to drive to visit them. Actually a little less then that because you would just go straight home From Arizona instead of back to Texas then over to your house. Check out www.pressurewashinginstitute.com and go into the equipment for sale by contractors and look up Eli's machine for sale. You will see plenty of picutres of what I bought such as the Rig,Surface machine, wands, cones, etc. Let me know what you think and also what you think a fair price is to do this. Thanks
-
Ron P, How would I get this rig on and off the truck if I was to rent one. I like the idea because I could fly to Arizona for around $130.
-
Chuck, Its in Arizona at one of Ron ********** places. How much would you charge me for you to go there hook it up and bring it to your house where I would go to get it. NC is only about 9 hrs from me?
-
The problem I have here is that this would be 5000 miles roundtrip. If I can't figure a way to get it then I just might have to go get it. How long do you think it would take me to go 2500 miles?? I would only have the most 7 days to go there and back. Chuck thanks for the offer. I'll definitely keep that in mind.

I am not allowed to use a Hydrant Period. At least that is what My water District said. If I was a Landscaper I could get a permit to use the Hydrant but Powerwashers are not allowed. Even though I have the wrench and hose to use for the hydrant I really haven't had the need yet to use a hydrant in 7+ yrs in powerewashing. When the day comes were I need to use Hydrants I will have to look into this Hydrant permit again and if need be I'll start a shell add on Landscaping Company just to get the permit. There is always a legal way.

I won't be there:( but I did buy a new rig that was posted on ***:)

Beth, I'm honored that you added me in as a moderator here in a few sections. In my hectic schedule this is the best way that I can help this Industry at this time. Maybe If I retire from one of my jobs(Not Powerwashing:) ) I would have more time to donate to help this community grow. In the future that is what I plan on doing. Do us moderators have our own moderator section or is that a thing from the past?? P/s- Your BB is kicking already!!:)

How many GPM's do you really need
John T replied to Joel Hawley's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Ouch!! To learn by that mistake must of really hurt! But it sounds like you realy recovered from it and learn a ton from it also. Good Luck In the Powerwashing field. There's Plenty of Money out there to be earned. Good Work ethics along with good Advertising will go along way in this and any other business. The Beauty of Powerwashing is watching the machine do the work for you(Even though your arms at times feel like they want to fall off:) ) The use of the Proper Chemicals along with the PWer is the key in this Industry and If your Handy with a good head on your shoulders your work should stand out when completed. As long as you have the Knowledge as to what to do. IF you don't of course come here and we can try to work your problems out together. Good Luck -
Beth, I agree with everything you said above and I would also like to say that Everett did a great job with the NJ Roundatable. The only thing I would like to add to what was said above is that Ron ********** should also be thanked for starting these Roundtable meetings in the first place and his time and effort in promoting the hell out of these meetings all over the net. Looking Forward to the next fall Roundtable meeting.

PWN--- Which for me at least is a shame because I used to really like this bb and its gotten real stale. I can't afford to spread my time to thin and adding Beths bb to my favorites means someone has to go. IF Dans bb ever picks up again then I will of course go back.....and still keep Beths in my favorite because she like Ron M. is so innovative and they are nothing alike. ( I bet Beth is happy I said they are nothing alike.LOL)
