  4. Next week we only have 3 house washes to do. We are doing some parking garages the end of next week and a couple of weekends after that(they can only be done on the weekends). There's some sporadic commercial work such as shopping centers we have scheduled but where starting to slow down now. So what's your up coming plans look like with your business?
  5. Great advice Beth!! How do you plan on doing that?
  6. New equipment critique

The rule of thumb for what gpm rating would be maxed for surface machine size it's 1gpm/4". So in your case 5gpm I wouldn't go larger then a 20"surface machine so your 19" surface machine will be fine.
  7. PWNA CONVENTION UPDATE: Sunbelt Rentals https://www.sunbeltrentals.com/equipment/subcat/81/manlift-straight-boom/ Just signed on to take 2 booths at the PWNA Convention this year. They will also be offering a LIFT CERTIFICATION so you can market that for your business. This is the last big Powerwashing Convention this year to learn a ton and network network network for your business.
  8. Also where working on getting discounts for PWNA members who rent from Sunbelt. Now that would be a dream :)
  9. There's a reason why you swept all those PWNA awards so many years ago when you did presentations Beth!! Your pretty darn good at it an you can back up everything you ever said.
  10. Joe Walters agency has always been great for my business. 15+yrs with them and never a problem. First class all the way :) http://josephdwalters.com/
  11. Sounds about right to me. We need some of these wood experts here to chime in on this. BETH,JIM,SHANE.. you guys out there??
  12. Of course. I'm so bad at spelling that I can't even tell if the spell check is close to being right Gym.
  13. Theoretically if all coats absorb into the wood you should be good....but.....after around 2 coats, the next coat will most likely lay on the previous coat and not penetrate the wood.. That coat will most likely peel down the road.
  14. Hey Steven-- you have to be careful with coat on coat when it comes to stains everything under a solid(sometimes solids as well). Not all stains are the same. Some say one coat, some say 2 coats and others say to do a coat over the other coat before it dries. Over applying stain can cause a problem down the road because stain basically is made to be absorbed by the wood. If you do to many coats then yes it will look good initially but eventually the top layer of coats very well may start to peel off because they never absorbed into the wood. Sometimes applying a very liberal coat can cause shining in some areas where the stain didn't soak into the wood. Personally I think staining is the most rewarding of all work in the Power Washing Industry and I consider you guys that do it well like artist. Staining is also the trickiest and if not done right or other bad factors come in such as a downpour in the middle of a job can cause serious headaches. I know this because I had so e rewarding experiences and also headaches at times in the past when it came to me staining.

Thanks Beth--I look forward to reading about it. This is my favorite topic to read about in the Powerwashing Industry. On my end my business has been slacking here of late.
  18. Yup I heard that because it became to pricey. We don't do hoods but it seems like you guys get an unfair shake from Insurance companies when it comes to this type of cleaning.

Hey Adrian- so sorry to hear about your loss brother. IF there's anything we can do please let us know. Where all getting a little older and hopefully getting a little wiser. On my end sometimes I wonder why I even give a craapp about this Industry because its so frustrating. Hopefully next year is better for us all and I hope you feel better yourself ;)
