That is why I'm glad I need a license here and also the ones that don't can easily be caught and fined...A great way to get rid of the lowballers. I don't look at this as a way for the Gov't to enforce more charges on us as some do but I do look at it as a way to eliminate the ones who want to screw the legitimate people who are trying to make an honest living.

Yup I downstream chlorine also for stains like that but after a short while I do rinse. You just never know if a kid is going to walk out there barefoot and step on the chlorine laying on the concrete........

Larry, Maybe in your case you should drop a dime on them and notify Consumers affairs in your area. Something like this I would have no problem turning them in because its what there doing which is hurting guys like us and Rfitz and many many more. The reclaiming issue as far as reporting on someone that isn't reclaiming I can honestly say I just don't know enough about to make any kind of stand on it but here you must have a Lic/Ins. and there is no mistaking that....at least not in my neck of the woods.

Hey lance, My thinking this past fall was similiar to what yours is now. I unloaded two trailers and I bought a whole new system to go into a 25 foot box truck. If I had to do it all over again I might have bought a slightly smaller box truck but the 25 footer sure filled up fast with all the equipment that I stored in it. Its amazing how fast a truck or trailer can fill up. It just seems that you never have enough space. I would suggest you go with a diesel engine because Diesels last alot longer and you get much better MPG. My box truck is getting about 9mpg and if it was gas I would probably be lucky if I got 6mpg. Of course diesel cost alot more then reg. gas at this time but there are times when diesel cost the same if not less. I also bought my truck on ebay and I had an independent company inspect this truck for me before I paid for it. They told me the truck was in excellent condition and they guessed I paid $20,000 for it. That made me feel good considering that I paid half that. Whatever you buy on Ebay just make sure you have an independent co. inspect your truck and make sure this company is not thru the dealer you bought it thru. Good Luck

I just found out this week that my prop. taxes have gone up another $1500/yr to raise my total to $8600/yr. and now with an extension going up in a few months my taxes should go over $10,000yr...So who really wants to be a yankee anymore anyway??

Thats a tough call. I would probably tell them that they probably only need it done 2x/yr but if they want it done more because they want everything spotless then I'll do what the customer request because what you may consider clean may NOT be clean enough in there eyes. Its kind of like this customer I have that I Powerwash 2-3 times a year there white house,white fence, white brick,white chairs,white plant holders,white florida room and a few other things on there property. This lady wants everything clean clean clean and she pays me well each time as per request. IMO she only needs everything cleaned once a year but this is what pleases her..........One of these days I have to take a picture of this lady's house and property..Her Property looks like something out of the Roman days..She's a pretty Italian Lady who likes to walk around barefoot and watch me and my guy clean her property..Where guessing that even though she is Sophia Loren pretty(She's aprox 45 yrs old) we figure because she is such a clean freak she drives every guy right out of her life because there's no way this Lady should be single.

Tony what is the electric wind option for your reels?? Is this a way to make manual reels electric??? I have those Stainless Steel Eagle Reels that Craig posted and there is no way I would sell them to get the electric reels it would be just to damn Expensive but if I could get an electric option for it this is something I could consider..

I would think that you could claim the check on either 05 or 06 as long as you claim it..I could be wrong because I have my accountant do my taxes so I don't know what the rule is on this.. If its me I would claim it as an 05 payment because the job was in 05..it just makes it easier for me to keep track of my records. As for my reciepts I got an accordian folder to keep track of each receipt so what do I do?? I did the same thing I've done for the last 10 years which is stuff all the reciepts in a box..and once again my wife and I have our work cut out for us to get this organized...Sometimes I just never learn

The difference between the Colts and the Steelers today then when they played awhile back this year is that Rothlesberger is healthy and the Colts are on a tail spin where they lost 2 of the last 3 games..There last Game was Rothlesberger first game back from boing injured and the colts where flying high...a tough game to come back to. I think this will be a close game next week with the Colts most likely sneeking out a win..Still the one's to beat without doubt is the reigning Champs..The Jets..err I mean the Patriots..Right now the Patriots are just about operating on all cylinders.......

Jim, I hope more people step up to the plate here. I made a similar statement a few years back before this bb was here. I did it for PWN after I donated $50 and I got a bunch of Criticism from quite a few especially the moderators on that site.... My point there as is here is that where all benefiting from these bb's and we should give back...With this bb being just about the most professional one I've ever been associated with I don't believe we will have that problem here. If you feel you have benefited financially from this bb then help the owners of it to keep helping yourself and others to prosper....

I never was happy with any of my downstream injectors either I must have had at least 10 of them over the years. About 3-4 yrs ago I discovered the x -jet and I have never used a downstream injector again. Today I have a diesel sprayer which is similiar to what the tree companies use to spray bushes etc.. THis will be even better then the x-jet and it better be because it cost about $5000 more...But you can't go wrong with the X-jet and your shurflo sprayers. To me those downstream injectors are a tool of the past.

JL, That is some Property Management company you deal with. To let you clean for half the amount of time and to pay you the same money the other guy was getting for twice the cleanings. The Prop. Companies I deal with try to do the exact opposite here in NY. I've lost a few accounts that I had due to the Prop. man. Co. trying to get others to clean my accounts for half the price they pay me and you guessed it they found someone. If your Prop. Management Company happens to have accounts up in NY put in a good word for me:)

Wow you guys have some high closing rates. Maybe you should raise your prices some. 80% seems very high unless your talking about referral jobs. I'd say that all of my estimates together I close about 40%. Now I know that my prices are on the higher side because I've been told by many potential clients but I I try to get the highest price that I can get. Then again I do have my other job to fall back to if I don't get the job so I'm sure that figures into another reason why my prices are pretty high. If I was doing Powerwashing as my sole job then maybe I would have to lower my prices a bit to close at a higher % rate but I don't know the answer to this because as long as I've been powerwashing(10 yrs) I always had my other job.... This is part of the reason that some times a part timer at this which I may be considered because of my two jobs can never be classified as a lowballer if he runs his business like I do.......

I need to get out of NY everything is so damn expensive. My house was just assessed at $600,000 and in Carolina it would be at most $300,000 with probably the tax rate of 1/4 that of NY. I just came back from Florida and I would love to live down there with my family. I have plenty of relatives down there so I would fit right in. The fact that I would have absolutely no mortgage down there and I take my NY pension there I would never have to work again if I didn't want to(Not my nature because I'm a work-a-holic). I could start a nice size powerwashing company down there and I could take alot of gambles because I wouldn't need that money to survive down there unlike here in NY. SO since my wife refuses to budge except to say that maybe in 15 yrs when the kids are done with school I will still have to hustle hustle hustle. As for now I'm getting ready to do and extension on my house because its just not worth it to sell and by another one. Not here in Long Island NY. I'm not complaining and don't get me wrong. I have to jobs that I like I just don't like to be forced to keep doing them both year in and year out..Maybe I am complaining :)

Its just about impossible to get rid of these lowballers or clowns as the above post classifies them. These type people will forever hurt us because they do such terrible work and they tend to scar the heck out of wood when doing decks. THis only hurts us because potential customers hear stories like this and they take the attitude that Powerwashers in general will cause problems with there decks etc. So we now lose business because of these lowballers. What a never ending story...........

On my Hydrotek powerwasher that I'm about to sell comes with 3 hose reels with one being the garden hose and the other two are high pressure hoses. It never occured to me that this rig could be used as a two gun set-up even though the gpm's would be low for each gun. The Unit is rated at 4.6gpm's @ 3200 psi so if it is a two gun Unit then each gun would be 2.3 gpm's each. Can someone show a picture of the part of the there powerwasher that makes it a 2 gun Unit. It almost seems like all you need is a y connector coming of the powerwasher where you can make it a 2 gun unit. If this is true then any Powerwasher can very easily be made into a 2 gun unit.
