Kath & I pay our respects back to Beth/Rod for all the've done for our business:)
John T replied to John T's question in The Club House
Yes it sure has Rick. The money many of us made from the knowledge we learned here, has kept guys like me gainfully employed in the Powerwashing industry. -

Where still doing wood restoration type work and I always think back when you told me to use HD-80 on wood along with a brightener and how nice it comes out. You were right on and I'm forever grateful for that:) -

Where is Rick Petry aka "The Bleach Bandit"?
John T posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Haven't seen Rick on the boards lately. Where is the Bleach Bandit hiding out at? -
If not, is there any reason why that is?
-
I'll see if I can get Amy Vollmer from JW agency to respond here for Alexy since he's asking about hood insurance.
-
Hey John-- You need to fill out your signature so we know where about your from. It's the rules and it also makes it easier to get more responses to your post cause guys like to know somewhat who their responding to. Oh yea Welcome aboard to the longest running most professional Power washing site on the net:)

What is the lowest temperature will you stain
John T replied to Jason Reider's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Jake is aces and always comes thru when asked for anything. -
The underwriters didn't want to insure hood cleaning anymore from what I was told on that just recently when I talked to them on the phone about WC insurance in NY.

John T replied to Jason Reider's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Hey Jason-- a little tip.... If your using an oil base stain make sure it's nowhere near freezing at night or you may have problems. Like Jim says, in our area you want to get to May for staining. The horrid call backs you can get because the stain didn't cure correctly do to freezing is not worth the headache. -

John T replied to scocar's topic in DIY'ers - Ask The Pro's
In this Industry, when dealing with mixes it's generally ounces to gallon ratio's. -
We haven't started yet because the weather has been to harsh. I'm bunching up bookings for 2 weeks from now so my guys can go out for full days. We don't do partial days and if we do I pay in full to my guys for a days work. So today I hit a few commercial establishments to solicit work. I hated every second of it especially when some security guards wouldn't even let me through 2 of these places. There high end but my goal is to crack these places. One of them pays aprox $100,000+ for just a few weeks of Powerwashing. It's getting to the facility operators is the problem. My wife on the other hand was working the phones and calling as far as SD Cali to get the phone numbers we need here. It's a work in progress and if I ever figure out how to crack these places maybe I'll do a class on it at a reputable event because this one is alot tricker then it seems especially when I'm chasing the bigger paying jobs at this stage of the game.

Good point Brian if only could get past security in there. We'll keep working on companies like this and we'll take any work we can get. Even if it's for a couple of hours. Thanks for the tip:)

PWNA is the first Mobile Washing ORG to offer Health Insurance Program
John T replied to Jim Gamble's topic in PWNA News, Events, and Information
Jim welcome to the volunteering world.. you get asked to do alot and your coming thru big from what I am hearing. Those are some amazing benefits your posting about. That website page for each contractor on the PWNA website is going to be huge for my business. I already am using Cullen http://longisland.pressurewashing.net/ to get my company higher on the search engines and Anya from http://www.uniqueamb.com/ who not only built my website last year www.cleancounty.com she is also going to do the SEO for us on a monthly bases. Rap that into the www.PWNA.org webpage for my company I should have the net part of my company in good hands. Keep up the good work:)- 2 replies

It's a parking garage, and tons of walkways. Probably a buck and half can be had on this job since around 10yrs ago a contractor did all this work for the hundred grand and it was knocked out in 2 weeks then.

I wonder if you have a fire cleaning a hood God forbid, if your insurance would cover you? Just because ones have liability insurance you have to read the fine writing to see what they cover. This is why I like JW insurance because they clearly spell out what your covered for.
