  1. I have a DeWalt one, not sure of the model, but it holds about 2 gallons. It takes the batteries from 12 to 18 Volt. It is decent for what it is, but isn't a power house, but better than any auto parts store 12 Volt that I have used.

Hey Allan--how ya doing? Still Powerwashing after all these years? Good to see you here :)

  2. I just got my 10% discount from Sunbelt on another Tennant scrubber where renting for Tomorrow's garage. We rent these scrubbers and lifts from Sunbelt around 10x yr. Sunbelt wasn't aware of this discount yet so I explained to them that corporate went to the PWNA Convention and said PWNA members get a discount. They immediately gave me a 10% discount but they wanted some proof that I was a member. I brought my old PWNA BOD card but it dawn on me that I could show I was a PWNA member thru the PWNA website www.PWNA.org

Either way I saved $60 here. My typical year I would save around $1000 from Sunbelt with my PWNA discount.

  3. The PWNA Bulletin Board is open http://www.pwnaforum.org/forum.php We need moderators and anyone interested in becoming one please contact me thru FB, the PWNA bb or email clncounty@aol.com The only requirement on being a Moderator is you have to be a PWNA member in good standing.

As for the PWNA bulletin board the majority of it is open to all for participation. The goal is for anyone who goes there to not only get something out of it but they also enjoy participating in it as well. So come on in and post away and have fun. Thanks-- John Tornabene Admin PWNA Bulletin Board.

  4. PWNA Board of Director Matt Pierce on the news about the Window washers who were dangling 68 stories up from the Freedom Tower in NY that was built to replace the Twin Towers that came down during 9-11.  http://www.wcvb.com/news/window-washers-rescued-70stories-above-the-ground/29690534

Great Job Matt in giving the Industry some positive representation during a moment of crisis!

  5. I did an estimate on a roof Saturday that is loaded with Black Algae stains. It's a large roof but in the warm weather it's a very easy clean.

Since the cold weather is upon us she should wait until spring for us to clean this but here is the dilemma -- She is putting the house up for sale Dec 1 so she needs this roof cleaned ASAP. She also said she would sweeten the pot by an additional $500 for us to do this.

So here's my thinking-- At job site I can mix my roof mixture with hot water to make it warm at least. Then before applying we can rinse roof with hot water to bring up the surface temp of the asphalt shingles. Then from there saturate the roof with our cleaning mixture. Do a few warm coats of our cleaning mixture at maybe 20 minutes apart. None of this would be done if temp is under 40 for the day.

So do you guys think this would work ok? Also keep in mind there is most likely no spring option for this lady because her house is going on the market next month.

  6. Winter was my favorite month growing up. I was big into winter sports such as Ice Hockey. I always loved the change of seasons and I'm glad my kids got to experience the same things I did.

Getting on in the years my body aches when it gets cold. I also feel the cold so much more... If all goes well my goal is to be a snowbird with a house in Florida and one here in NY.. Just like my parents do.

  7. I like it! Anything you do differently marketing wise? I think most customers are under the impression that when it cools down, so does the pressure washing.

Yes I think most customers are under the impression that when it cools down so does the Powerwashing. This is primarily in Residential. Commercial on the other hand can go right through the winter as long as it's not freezing out when your doing outside Powerwashing.

As for Maketing we pay someone monthly to work on the SEO on our site so that never changes. We also continuously cold call and send out postcards/brochures etc to potential commercial customers thru out the year.I guess to answer your question we don't change our marketing except maybe try something different every now and then.
