I was laid off back in April and I immediately signed up for unemployment. BUT in my entire life, including now, I have yet to take a draw on the unemployment. I have not received a dime from the Government. Tightened the belt and found work to do. You see I discovered that the benefit I was going to get was less than 1/4 of what I was making and I got taxed on the money to boot so it is just not worth it. I guess I just have too much pride to take the money. Especially with the spiraling deficit and the impending stupid decisions by our current congress. Republicans wanting to get rid of the entitlement? Of course they do, why should people be allowed to wallow in their own self pity for 6 months or more waiting for the money to run out then panic. Force them to get off their rears and find work. There are all kinds of jobs out there, people are just not willing to cut their life style. The Constitution give you the right to pursue happiness. It DOES NOT guarantee you happiness and that is the thinking of a liberal mind. Everyone does not deserve to be happy. Do you think that the Octomom should be getting funds from the government. Hell she already had 6 kids. The scariest words in the English language are "We are from the Government and we are here to help." We are becoming a nation of pacifists and we are starting to get walked all over in the world views. Take a look at the power that England once was as compared to now. See how it comes around Dan? I remember a thread last month where you were touting the unemployment rate dropping. Myself and others told you to wait and now look. Not to mention the ones that had holiday seasonal jobs that will be laid off this month.

I would give The Sealer Store a call. They carry numerous brands and they should have one or two to fit your needs.

Hauling the tank full is better than half full to eliminate the sloshing affect.

Sounds like the electrodes are out of adjustment and it is throwing in raw fuel and then igniting. I used to work on oil fired boilers and they would do the same thing.

Oh yea that is funny stuff. Like when they back down and try to launch the boat and then pull ahead and backup and slam on the brakes and the bow lifts off the trailer.... All because they forgot to take the straps off the stern. Or better yet and I did see this happen..... NEW Boat Husband backs to the top of the ramp and gets out and removes all straps and cables. Hooks a line to the bow and hands it to his wife and gets back into the truck. He the proceeds to back down the ramp and about 20 feet from the water the wife asks him a question and he jams on the brakes..... The stern of the boat is now 8 feet from the water and the back of the trailer is still 20 feet from the water..... That's right the boat came right off the trailer and slammed onto the concrete ramp... Funniest launch I ever saw boy was he mad. Serves him right for removing the winch cable before getting to the water.

How come every time someone brings up Dan's van I can hear John Walsh's voice in my head? LOL

One more thing Dan,,,, You expect people that come here to the USA to follow the laws right? How is that different for an American that travels abroad? Are we that much better than every one else? You may not like the laws in these other countries but they are the laws and if you don't want to be subject to them then stay home.

Well I am of German descent and probably closer than most as my dad did not get to the US until 1957. Now I am NOT a German-American... I am an American that happens to be of German descent. That is all that matters. I don't care where you came from unless you got here illegally because other than that it doesn't matter. Who you are now is what counts. My grandmother once told me that the best part of WWII was when the American tanks (my other grandfather may have been driving one of these?) rolled into town and they knew the war was over for them. I have never been to the old country because really there is a LOT to see here in the USA without going over seas. The one place I do want to go eventually is Australia. I just think an outback tour would be cool. I can do without the big cities, does nothing for me.

Dan things are not as bad as you always make them out to be but at the same time we have not seen the bottom yet. The stimulus package BS had the same effect as pouring a Pixi stick down your kids throat. You will come down off the sugar high. I do still think 2010 will be a better year though but not because of Obama. Heck the Debt is still climbing through the roof. I'm thinking I need to start taking Chineese lessons, the heck with spanish.

When the holidays are over and the road repairs are completed then what? Spend more of our money? You need to get some no fog solution for your glasses. Talk about drinking the koolaid only I think you got the whole pitcher. What happens when you drink a bunch of koolaid? You get a sugar high. Wait until the sugar rush wears off. Talking about unemployment going down durring the holiday season is laughable. Everyone knows it is because of the temp workers hired for the retail sales season.
