Thanks Russ, Very clear now. I wish I would have known about this product two months ago... I could have had a few deck and fences completed by know.
Will be calling Pete or Tracy today.

Russell, do you have literature on this Wood Tux?
Are you saying, this product can be put onto fences and decks even if the wood is wet and have a moisture content of say 25-30% this is the reading of a saturated deck? What makes this Tux able to be applied without the fear of a "afternoon shower"?
-
Thanks beth, I notice that your post deck staining on a regular basis. I assume your not getting much rain up their in Maryland or are you? Are you using that wood tux stain. How is that compared to RS and Wooddefender type oil based penetrating stain?
I hope next season to be going full bore on staining But first I have to find a stain that ccan be applied with out having to watch the weather.
Thanks for the replies

Do you know if Woodtux is a oil penetrating stain or a film forming?

Mike, what are you pulling your trailer with. F150?

I have a haulmark 7x14 enclosed. I have my tank positioned over the second axle from the rear. Skid is on the rear. IMHO do not cut a burner stack in your roof, it decrease the trade in value at time of selling. I had delco vent my burner from the the rear of my trailer as pictured.
I have everything in this trailer. Good choice

Well I was just wondering, since it has rained here about every afternoon for the last 2-3 month if there is a stain that is on the market that would allow you to stain decks and fences even if it is a possbility of afternoon showers?
I am using Wooddefender deck stain But there has to be a least 24-48 hours of no rain. Needless to say if I get a chance for the deck to dry out for 2-3 days and when it appears that I will get a chance to stain it their is a possibility of it raining after the application. This make it hard for me to schedule customer again to complete this deck and fence.
I feel like I should be working as a metorologist.
Any Ideas. Could I stain the deck and the put a plastic tarp over the deck just incase it rains after I stain it or will this cause the stain not to dry properly.
What do the vets do in a case like this.

I charged the two together and also did the driveway. Good payday here. Looking to stain the deck later once my experience improve on stripping.

Beth, this was an unsealed deck with heavy graying. I cleaned it about a year ago when I first go it to the biz. Great customer and he is alway satified with my work. I was giving the formula for the F-18 by Bob.

Pressure Pro. thanks for the comments. I used f-18 at 3oz per gallon and the part that you mentioned is bright,is where I actually start to neutralize the deck. I was a great learning experince. Looking at being a littl faster next time.
Beth. there are trees in his backyard. It does have leaves shedding onto the deck. I am not understanding your question in relation to the post?

Did you notice those GUTTERS?

Shane, I just posted a shot of the floor in another photo shot.

To Shane, Beth. As posted earlier, can anyone of you tell me why those few boards in the middle came out different from the rest of the decking boards. I cleaned an neutralized the board about six times, thinking I did not brighten long enough. They did not get any lighter. Could it be a different specie of wood?.
Will this affect the staining process. I will be using wooddefender Bright Cedar. If the rain will hold off for a few days.

Here my first attempt at cleaning a paying customers fence and deck. I had practiced on numerous skids and old fences before I even attempted this.
I liked to thank Bob at pressure tek for all the answers to my questions. The F-18 and F-8 is the bomb. I Believe that this is a cedar fence and PT deck.
The second photo is the one where I used bleach on the left and F-18 on the right before I neutrilzed it.
My main objective here is to be as good as BETH, Rod and Shane, those are my set goals and I have put the ball in motion.
Thanks for all that answers these post.

Buy the x-jet and a 8ft lance.. These two items should be more that what you need to do residential homes and small buildings.

Dolittle, I experienced the same issue the other day. My unit started to smoke as I was cleaning. Check filter.. good, check desiel..good. My problem was that the house I was cleaning was on a hill and I had positioned my truck in a down hill position. What was happining was the the fuel was all in front of the tank ( because the truck and trailer was facing downhill ) and the fuel pump could not pick up the fuel.
So I then got out my tire chock and placed on on of the wheels and disconnected the trailer from the truck....leaving on the security chains attached. and lower the jack all the way down so the the fuel could level out.....BAM.... no smoke from that point on.
Make sure you guy are not parking downhill... Just my .05 worth.

Steve, What a creative idea. You saved Thousands of dollars with that setup. Now Go Make That Money!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Jeff, we both are in the Atlanta area. AC, you will be out of biz in less than 6 month if you continue your current course. Atl demographic will handle a min of a $200.00 up to $350.00( in my area,) housewash.
Man your working for free at $ 100.00 per unit. Figure you cost of material to be on the high end of 15-20 buck in Chems, Plus fuel, diesel if you have a hot unit. Plus on a average two story home, it takes about 1.5-2 if your detailed. Now figure you labor in at about $80.00-90.00 and hour.
What did you make on a $100.00 housewash maybe $20.00 == OUT OF BIZ.
AC raise your prices up slightly to around $175.00,see if they bite then the next home raise it to $195.00, see if they bite and so on until you see what the market will bear.
Pick up a PT job in the meanwhile and you do not have to take those low dollar jobs to make ends meet. I was in your shoes less than a year ago. I know what your feeling. It gets better as YOU get better. Do not shortchange yourself and the others in the BIZ.

To those who are wood vets.
I just received my Delhurst Moisture meter.. Jlite, from Sunbrite, Thanks Pete, anyhow. I was doing a sample test on my own deck this a.m., what I noticed is that I was getting different reading from the same area of the deck.
Ex, used the meter on the first four boards from the door.
First board.... reading 25-30
Second board.. 18-20
third board.... 15-20
Is my readig different due to the diffrent grades of PT Pine, which absorb moisture different or is the wood drying at different times due to the placement of the sun before I did the readings.
Also when your taking readings to determine if deck is ready to stain, do you take reading in diffrent areas of the deck and do you wait until all testing area read below 12% moisture content before preceding with staining.
