We use P.P. on gutters every time the customer wants the black streaks removed. We use it full power. Spray on, then lightly aggitate with brush then rinse. We do about 20' at a time. Works great for us but I can't compare to anything else because I have never used anything else.

We run two M-5's all the time, 4' wand 40' x-jet tubing. We rinse with M-5, apply chem with it and then rinse again. Best investment I've made for business in a long time, we used to downstream everything but after doing a house or two to get familiar with m-5 we never switched back. You will have to get used to bucket and extra line being in the way from time to time but the time it takes to move everything around you will still be faster than downstreaming.

I need help with a cyprus house. The house is not painted, stained or sealed. I need to know what house washing brew needs to be used for cleaning this. Also the lower half of the house is more of a yellow color because of the sprinkler system. I will post pics if someone will tell me how. Thanks.

Cyprus House Wash

Shane, thanks for your tips and pointers here are the after shots. -
Phillip, I have a hot water machine and hot water alone has never worked for me.
-
Next gutter cleaning you get use purple power. If you use full strength most times no brushing is reguired hot or cold water it doesn't matter black streaks melt off right before your eyes. 50/50 you may have to agitate a little bit but again hot or cold water will work just fine.

I have 2 13 horse Honda's and they pull start very easily, usually on first pull. As long as your pump doesn't have a load on it (backed up pressure on line) you should not be having such a hard time with this.

Go to Tractor Supply and get a syringe that is used for horses and cattle. These hold a good amount of fluid. On the end where the needle would be I have installed about 10" of 1/4" clear tubing. Stick the tubing down in pump filler hole and pull the injector part up. After about 4 times I can get 95% of my oil out and I simply add new oil and in 10 minutes I'm through. Hope this helps, if you need pictures let me know and I will get some posted this weekend.

Pressure Pros and CCPC good points about dwell time and phone calls/customers. The remote starter makes good sense if it will also shut the machine down. I just have never seen one that has a shut down option, but if this is possible sounds like it would really come in handy.

I am a one man show 65% of the time and ball valves have saved me many wasted trips to the trailer. I washed for three years before making the switch because I always thought it would suck dragging around a ball valve, but now I don't even notice. Does the remote starter also shut off machine or are you going to be walking back anyways?

Shane thanks for the help. No stain, customer wants nothing on wood. She told me it has never been stained or anything else for that matter.Do you see the discolorasation (SP?) where the sprinkler was hitting the house? She wants a uniform color if at all possible, when I'm finished washing. -

Thanks Mike, I went to the web site and seen a few freebies, do you have a recommendation on which one I would need. I am not very computer savy so any help is greatly appreciated. -
I believe what Carolina Pro Wash was getting at is this, new construction brick you need some type of muratic and you must take extreme caution around windows with this.

Tried to post the pictures but they were to large. Can someone tell me what I need to do to make them smaller. Thanks -
Landed a job today with a customer who wants driveway washed. The driveway is only 8 months old but it has mud stains from the consrtuction and brown stains from fertilizer they dropped when spreading a couple months ago. I believe the brown is from the iron in the fertilizer, and I think I can remove it with some acid (aliminum brightener). Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any one out there with some advice for cleaning the brown stains caused from the fertilizer.

I'm with Ken on this one. Two buildings a day at $450 a piece = $900 for an 8 to 9 hour day is pretty good. You say you would like to get the job, so I would throw in the clubhouse and leasing office for free. HOA's and apartment complex managers love to see free stuff.

House wash and windows / roofs
wesley replied to Michael Nardoni's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Mike, thank you for the quick response. I just wanted a little clarification because I didn't fully understand what you were saying. We also keep our gutter cleaner in a pump up sprayer but the majority of my houses are 2 and 3 story so we can not apply our gutter cleaner (P.P.) in 10 minutes. In my area the guys working for beer money get most of the smaller homes but when we do get them I will do the gutters when it only takes me a few minutes per side. When I made the $75 comment I was throwing a random # out there since I go by the foot on gutters and that price will always vary. -
House wash and windows / roofs
wesley replied to Michael Nardoni's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Mike and Tony, Does your house wash price include the gutters? I'm not sure I completly understand what you two are saying. Does your house wash mixture clean the black streaks off of the gutters? My mixture does not, this is why it is an extra charge for me to get the black streaks off. If your house wash mixture is capable of taking off the black streaks could you share your concoction(spell?). If yall are using a seperate chemical like P.P. and taking the time to apply and brush in alot of cases, I am guessing yall are at least $75 higher than the next guy. In my area this is a seperate charge among the P.W's. I guess in a nutshell are yall just increasing your housewash price to cover this expense and not calling it an ala-carte item. -
I do the same as Don. Top to bottom. When I'm done with the driveway I rinse it off and this gives me the oppurtunity to wash off any dirt that may have gotten on garage door or deck or anything else for that matter.

Water Cannon Power Washers: Opinions?
wesley replied to Lou Beach's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Lou, the Water Cannon machine is very similar to my Alcota, but the price is by far cheaper. The motor (Honda) and pump (General) are very reliable in all other setups so just guessing I would tell you for the price and warranty you will not get a better deal. If you happen to come across a better deal please let us know. -
I worked with my uncle doing fleet services on the weekends for golf money. Monday through Friday I had a descent job but liked the extra cash, then after about 1 1/2 years I bought my first machine and did fleet services and after 5 years I do houses, fleets, resteraunts, commercial flat work. Oh by the way the corporate job I mentioned earlier I walked away from and my Mon. thru Fri. is now power washing.

I am also interested in a 8 gpm machine but I too am waiting to see if it makes that big of a difference when running a surface cleaner. I would also like to hear from someone with a 8 gpm machine that can tell me if your arms can tell that big of a difference going from a 5 to an 8. If your washing by yourself can you cut your gpm down so the resistance on your wand wont be so bad.
