Advice on power washing wood home
Washaway replied to prince083's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Prince, I too, feel the need to jump on the band wagon. The tech info you've received above is all correct and very helpful....however....trust me, someone who's been in the Pressure Cleaning business for years now, call a pro. Even I don't attempt to clean wood. I don't know enough about it, have no experience with it, and therefore I leave it for those who know what they're doing. -
I think I digest more than I contribute but still, I'll offer to help with what I can.

Getting Your Foot In The Door W/Out Stepping On Your Competitors Foot

Carlos, that's a great letter and it is kind of you to share it with everyone. -
bleach does for the leaf stains but I've experienced, from my own property, that the fetilizer stains go away on their own. They look nasty and rust like but within a couple of weeks they're gone and it's like nothing every happened. Maybe the water, from the sprinklers, dilutes it.

Thank you..

Beth where did you get this data from? Is this accessable on the net?

I still can't get over the visual of that ladder storing up all that energy and then springing loose. LOL

If 10g's is what the job would be worth, based on your normal rates then I certainly wouldn't cut it by half. I'd bid somewhere around 6.5 - 7.5g's. Give me a call at the number below. I'm up for another couple of hours.

H E L P !!!!!!!
Washaway replied to PressurePros's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I wish I could help but I've got nothing that would be useful. Plus I'm quite the distance from you. Good luck. -
Mike just the upper portion or the entire thing all at once. I'm not familiar with the different types but when I used the Dif mixed with hot water and sprayed it on, it only pealed the top layer off (or the patterned layer). The backing came off even easier afterwards.........all it needed was to be moistened with some more hot water.

When the weather gets really hot, which it does here in S. Florida, I drink hot tea during the day. The tea raises your body temperature closer to what the ambient or outside temperature is. The less the temperature difference there is the less you feel the heat. It becomes very comfortable to even on those hot and humid days.

TRichter are you going to be hauling water? It looks to me like you have around 700-900 gal capacity. If you are then I don't undertand why you mounted your tanks on one side of the trailer as opposed to down the middle.

Sorry guys but I can't admit which one of you I'm laughing at more.....I've got tears in my eyes. Thanks for making my day.

When I bought the house it was full of wallpaper. I used a product called Dif from Home Depot. Never heard of the Dawn method so I can't say anything but I do know that Dif worked wonders. Just follow the instructions on the back. It's worth noting that my wall paper was professionally installed and from what I understand this makes a big difference. Good luck

Dolittle, I'm not going to quote here but Jon, Russell, Mike, Barry, Rod all have the right idea. I must admit that I too have had a really tough time adjusting my prices to meet the lesser expectancy prone customer. I, also, am the type of person who will spend the extra five or ten minutes doing something just b/c I'd like to see it look different. However after a short while I learned that most people don't appreciate it.....infact they tended to ask for more freebies. (There are a lot of people in my neck of the woods who want everything for free.......purposely omitting any specific identifiable terminology). At the end of the day I calculated in the area of 1 to 1.5 extra operational hours at no cost and I was tired. For what? So that they would forget about me next time they needed something cleaned? Forget it! If I'm not busy then I'll accomodate the bunch that does not care....if I'm busy then they can call someone else. It was hard but I learned to adjust......hang in there and give it a try. alright, so here's a quote after all: PressurePros, I'm not sure of what your demographics are like but I have to admit that around here, in my experience, it is the middle class that will pay for quality of service and the Macy's shoppers will tend to be cheaper and pickier then anything.

Celeste I don't know you personally, nor do I know Roger, therefore I know nothing of your kids.......but am I safe to say that you're teenager is going to learn how to hang a fence in the very near future? Hard labor builds character. Trust me!! :lgkick: ps: glad to see that there were no injuries and any serious damage.

Just like people who search for quality work we only look for quality customers.

What kind of advertising? This is a really bad idea.
