Used to pay 0.95/gal but it jumped to $1.10/gal when gas prices skyrocket last year. Gas prices have dropped back down by almost a buck per gallon.....chlorine still @ $1.10

Hot water and Generator won't work on my skid
Washaway replied to Jhignutt's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Listen to Jarrod. Also, check your GFI with a voltmeter and see how much your generator is giving you. Are you producing any electricity? Not sure what kind of machine you have but on mine you have to adjust the generator in order to adjust the according belt. -
Cleaning our first roof with the new Delavan pump this last Saturday. With the extra run off from the 5.3gpm, I had my helper drop a garden hose at the base of one particular bush. Just a precaution to make sure it would drink enough. Job went late and we were rinsing the house off after dusk. I followed up with the client this morning, just to make sure we didn't miss anything on the walls and he was very pleased with the work. It turns out that my helper, after my telling him, never got around to turning that one hose off and it was watering the plant all night long. The owner found it Sunday morning when walking his dog. My fault for not double checking, but he certainly will get an earfull this afternoon. Homeowner said that part of the garage had water in it but it's saince dried up. I'll find out this afternoon what, if anything, was damaged and what this will cost me. The water bill is a given ofcourse.

Did you just ask if anyone would willingly pay to be flipped off on a daily basis? :) ps: nice ride....what did you pay for it?;) -
Is a kohler engine as good as a Honda in 13 hp?
Washaway replied to POWERMEN INC's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The benefit for me is piece of mind! In the time it takes for the engine and pump oils to drain, I've changed everything else. Then I refill with oil and have a good nights sleep. call me boderline obsessive compulsive. -
I nominate Halley Barry (is that how you spell her name?)

Rubbing with your fingers get it off but vinegar won't? Hm. It must be just grime buildup. Thought of using a soft brush? Take some pics.

Pour some white vinegar on a rag and try whiping it. It should help. If it does then dilute the vinegar with some water and go to town.

Pumps, which do you use most?
Washaway replied to Beth n Rod's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I've used a 3.8gpm shurflo for years. Correction: For years I've used the 3.8gpms shurflos. I got my first 5.3gpm Flojet last week in the mail. Can't wait to test it out. (trailer is still being outfitted) -
I vote Bill Cosby for the first black 007. LOL How about the first female bond...who would you nominate?

Is a kohler engine as good as a Honda in 13 hp?
Washaway replied to POWERMEN INC's question in Residential Pressure Washing
All engines have their issues and every manufacturer has their list of things that have a tendancy to break. As long as you take care of your machine it will last for a long time. Believe it or not but I change spark plugs, filters and oil every 50-75hrs. I run a 25HP Kohler. Have a friend in the landscaping industry that runs nothing but Kohlers. -
let me guess....9 customers a day working 4 days a week and consiquently 10 customers a day working 3 days a week? LOL :)

There are so many companies, in every one of our neighborhoods, with whom we'll never be friends. The reason why we hang out on this board, and I presume other boards aswell, is to share the knowledge we've learned and to learn from one another. It's an attempt to better the industry, through education, which puts food on our tables. Why can't we just get along?

It's and Expedition. 98 5.4L 4x4 Eddie Bauer. I love it and it's been great to me. It looks just like when it rolled off the line and just turned 134,600 on the odometer. I'd love to get an F250 but I don't want to get rid of Eddie.....maybe in another year or so. (I should of whispered. Don't want him to hear me)

Have it done in the same material that they use to cover city buses. You can see the ad from the outside but if you're sitting inside you can't, however you can still see out the window. They'll cover the entire back window and then cut seems where necessary so that your sliding window can still be operated. Will look good. trust me.

Chris, My post clearly states that it a barrel tile roof. Wouldn't get far with showing him an Asphalt roofing material's cleaning guidlines. He made a point of mentioning that his tiles are not nailed but glued with the foamy adhesive that they've been using. Maybe there is something behind it. Could the chlorine have some sort of negative break-down effect with that adhesive compound? Then again it could very well be another case of trying to get out of having to do something. (it's all possible). We've had a homeowner in the community who tried to convince management that her roof is not dirty, it's black. Who in their right mind would manufacture a black roof??

You're are correct, sir. However, in hind sight, I wish they were torsion and not leaf springs. I wouldn't have to worry as much about the placement of things.

tank plumbing question
Washaway replied to Curb Appeal's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Phillip is right. I've got a 2" dump valve and it drains like a bat out of hell. -
Mel! Thanks for the directions the other day. I got everything taken care of and faxed off. Lucky I had my laptop with me for the trip.
-
Thanks guys. And not a moment too soon. I think the other one would not have lasted another 50 miles. Can't wait to get everything transfered and fitted. I've been racking my brains for the last two days, thinking of weight distribution, logistics, etc.

I have Harry Potter glasses!!! :lgkick:

I had a potential client call this morning asking some very specific questions. Found out that his roofer's warranty specifically warns him of a warranty void if chlorine/bleach or pressure is used to clean his barrel tile roof. He is in for an interesting day trying to find someone with an alternative method of cleaning and I can't wait to hear what the roofer has to say to him after they've spoken. Maybe the roofer will contract Harry Potter to clean this guy's roof? "Exxxpeditious-Cleansous" Next time in Engald I'll visit Diagon Alley and buy me one of those wands.

Not enough!! It's not a nightmare but at the same time it has it's specifics. Don't forget that he has to walk the entire length on the inside and on the outside. In order to clean that thing effectively you need to be on the ground in the bush, otherwise you won't be able spray the outside and the underside of the top handrest. Standing ontop of the handrest and hanging over the side will work but not 100%....besides it's backbreaking. Trust me! $400 is not enought to be walking among the snakes and spiders. Okay....nevermind. I just looked at the picture again and realized that this boardwalk's construction is a bit different compared to the one we did. Disregard my comment. Still...I think he should charge more. here's what ours looked like:

I'm not superstitious but I am borderline obsessive compulsive.
