Tim, One Tough Pressure answered your question. The reason why we use such large tanks is because not everywhere we go has an available spigot to draw water from. I have 2x200G tanks on my trailer and they are both plumbed to the pump. In fact I can segregate the two tanks with a simply ball valve if needed. Let's say for example that you've got a small 15 minute driveway to do. Water is available but when you have 4 or 5 stops to make in a day it goes a lot faster if you only draw water from 2 or 3 stops as opposed to all of them. A lot less work with hoses. Commercial jobs are probably the worst for this. Some plazas have very few spigots available in the front. Let's say that you are cleaning a store front, which is a small job, but the nearest spigot is a good 100ft away. That's a pain in the butt to haul a garden hose to and from. My advice to you is have a couple of reels on your rig when you mount everything permanently. One for your inlet hose...the one to use for drawing water. Another for your pressure hose. Preferable have this one be electrical so that you don't have to bother with elbow grease. Then affix 300ft (100m) of pressure hose to it and you should be just fine. Have a couple of 50ft sections available in the truck incase you run into 'short hose' issues. ps: the real reason why we use larger tanks is b/c EVERYTHING is bigger on this side of the pond! :)

Ouch James. Better drain that tank.

I volunteer to make the north bound trip, borrow Mike's shoes and then present a resolution to the thieve, in the vigilante form, which will bring ME personal satisfaction and in turn relive Mike from having to do it himself. What do you say Mike, you up for it?

Set-ups like this are hard to come by.....still, I'm going to bite my tounge this time. :) It's a good thing b/c we're all pink on the inside!! ;)

Mike, before you know it this thread will end up being 16 pages long:)

JBenson is right about the ice cube cenario....however your bigest concern should be your head cracking in this case. It can happen. Unloaders are a must if you wish to save big bucks. Unfortunately my feeling is that you've already have a cracked head. Blown packings and/or check valves will not cause your pump to leak. This will result in pulsing water pressure which makes your hose vibrate. Your problem is either cracked plungers or head. When you remove your head you will have to remove your packing (more than likely) in order to find the crack. Usually they crack inside the packing chamber. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Mike, Try stopping him next time you see him and ask him if he's had problem's with theft himself. Then proceed to tell him what happened with you and that you've put out dummy cans with contaminated gas in it. If it's him he'll never steal from you again.

Drive without your cement shoes and you won't feel indebted. :) -
A smart thieve would not return more than once. (but who said that stealing is a smart thing). If they've come back twice they WILL come back again, and again and again UNTILL you teach them a lesson. Quick, effective, painful and to the point.

Mike you need to teach them a lesson with the naked end of a broom stick. What ever business he is in I'm sure that he can't perform services with a cracked shin or two. I'll add that I am dead serious!!

Bruno I respect your willingness to complete the project regardless of what setbacks is may cause. We all make mistakes now and then, wether it be underquoting a job or something else. It happens to the best of us. ie: last year we had a commercial job that we one but I don't know how. Our bid was about 33% of what my competitors bid and realisticly what I should have charged aswell, was it not for a huge mathematical mistake on my part. (when I say our price was low I mean we nearly were not awarded the contract) The problem was that I didn't realize until it was too late and everything was signed. What did we do? I ate the loss and completed the project with 100% accuracy and quality. After completion I notified the respective parties about our pricing mistake and next year we charge what we should have. (and we're talking thousands of $) I will tell you this, I am their contact when in need of pressure cleaning. -
Why don't you come over here and work with your partner?

Surface Cleaner Problems
Washaway replied to bulletproof's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I doubt it's your tips b/c they usually only clog one, which means it will still spin...just not like it was desinged to. If it's not something caught around the swivel (palm frawns, string, etc) then I think it's time to change bearings. Spin the bar and if it makes a grinding noise your water seals gave out and washed out your bearings. -
Green is my favorite color.

Ken you pulled the words right out of my mouth. How dare you steal my philosophy!??! -
I'm glad your issue resolved with such simplicity John.

Shouldn't the sign then be paster over their faces? James, if you give your children a banner to hold for pictures at least you have them hold a company banner. It's better for advertisement :)

I too have been in contact with CS and have heard nothing about them being dropped by CB. My story is alongside of Mike's.

Tell him to eat his screens and that wish him lizard vomit in his shoes!!! He is trying to take you for a ride and I wouldn't give in. They look like that b/c they've been weathered and not b/c you washed the house. (if you used absolutely no acid then you can call it a day and have a good nights rest) I disagree completely with everyone here. Not only would I not replace the screens or go halfs on having them done but I would fire the client. People like that are always looking for a free ride somewhere and further relations with them will only result in more headaches. Let it be noted that I stand behind my work 101% and will take responsibility for my actions, however I will not be let anyone pull the wool over my head! I hate people like that!!!!! [Washaway is very angry right now]
