Very basic! I am a very big Salsa dancer and have never had the interest in anything else. However, now I'm considering training and competing in International Latin. With time I just may pick at hustle aswell.......after all there are a lot of similarities.

Don't tell my mother I'm a Powerwasher, she thinks I'm a piano player in a brothel! :lgangel:

PressurePros thanks! There's a technical term for what you do, it's called the two step shuffle. :lgkick:

Here's an interesting topic: How many of you have been approached, while cleaning with your hover or the wand, not more than 20 feet of you truck and trailer (which is lettered and decaled), and you get asked, "Do you do pressure cleaning?" or "Are you painting?" or "What are you guys doing?" Better yet......you are at a stop sign and notice the guy behind you honking his horn and getting out of his vehicle. You are not pulling a trailer and the back of you truck is lettered/decaled and the words 'pressure cleaning' appears in your name. The person approaches your window and asks, "Do you do pressure cleaning?". Please!!!! Share your stories b/c I need to know that I'm not the only one meeting 'these people' who are parked crosswise in a parking spot.

Ask a stupid question and you get a stupid answer.
Washaway replied to Washaway's question in The Club House
Yes, Jon, I have thought of it. Infact I think of it everytime someone walks up to me or even just slows down to take a look. Still, there are times when caution is thrown at the wind for a little self amusement. -

I usually bite my tounge aswell and then head straight to the bar for a drink.:lgangel: I was not in a very good mood on this particular day and the job required us to sump h2o from the community lake. This lady has been watching is from her window for hours. We'd show up with empty tanks and 7 minutes later we'd leave with 400g. An hour later all this would be repeated, and so on. At one point she came over, looking very upset, and demanded to know what we were putting into the lake? I told her it was fish food and she never bothered us again.:lgbonk: -
John T. - it's never cheaper to upgrade such things. You'd be better off buying them electric from the get-go.

Thanks for the two question marks. I was running out of breath.:lgsideway Live and learn Dave. We've all made mistakes of this kind. Don't ever be intimidated by a big house and a couple of shiny cars. Nextime explain to them that general cleaning costs a certain amount and extra things like paint removal, gum removal or oil stains are extra......just try to do it when you are presenting your estimate! PressurePros - I have to agree with you. I've found that most will respect a firm contractor and will be at ease knowing that they are getting quality work.

Wouldn't mayonnaise work on tar? I'm sure application would be a pain in the butt. (You could try a toothbrush) <---sorry........couldn't resist:lgsideway

I agree. Hats off!

I use Summit reels and the two that I own have been with me for 3 years now. They're both electric and are capable of holding 300 ft of hose easy...........I think one of them has 350 on it. They're not stainless so they will rust if you bang the paint up but that of course is partial to how much exposure you have to the elements. http://www.summithosereels.com/assets/images/sme.jpg

That's hillarious!

You have no idea! I'm also very glad that the trailer hit the receiver and not the truck. I was in a grid lock with stop-go traffic @ about 15mph. The thing that saved me from truck damage was the 400 gallons of water in the trailer. When that thing hit the ground it dug a whole 15feet deep:) It was one heck of an experience. You know I've been called borderline compulsive obsessive in the past. EVERY time prior to getting in the truck I personally check the chains, the hitch lock, and the cables.......just to make sure noone has tempered with something while I was working behind a building or something of the like. Even with such careful attention mistakes can happen.

How many of you mix miuratic acid in with your 12%. A potential customer ask for it a today and I scratched my head. Apparently he had a previous company tell him that's what their roof cleaning chemical consisted of. I add acid to the pool all the time but the ratios are no where the same as it would be with this roof mixture. Also, there is a difference b/n pool acid and miuratic acid, no? I'm no chemist by any stretch of the imagination but I have to ask if mixing miuratic with 12% is safe or not. (obviously the landscaping would love it):lgsideway

Congrats Jeff! You should be proud of yourself. Just make sure that in the heat of all of this, and all the support that this pm co. is feeding you, your prices don't drop. Just because you now have a 100 property worth of sidewalks to do it doesn't mean that 0.02/sqft is an acceptable rate. You still need to feed the family. Good luck with the surgery, the recovery and then tackling this monster of a task. WAY TO GO!

That's the article that came to mind while I was scatching my head. For a second I actually doubted myself in what I know. You know......those days when you have to ask someone how to spell 'whether' and 'weather'. :lgbugeyes

I knew it didn't sound right.

We should start a thread about all the stupid things that have happened to us in the course of our working days. As long as nobody or nothing got hurt/damaged then I take things like that in stride and consider them a GOOD wakeup call. Off topic just a little bit: two days before Christmas my trailer separated from the truck. The ball sheared right off the receiver. I was lucky that I had an extra receiver in the truck with the right ball on it. Should I add that this happened not 10 minutes after signing the bottom of a Broward County Traffic Violation slip?

Guys, if you're going to cable your wheels then atleast cable it on the drivers side. This way you'll see it when you get in the truck.

Ah come on now!!! Share with all of us! :lgtear:

Curbside trash can cleaning
Washaway replied to squirtgun's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Most people around here also keep their trash cans outside at all times. It gets just way too hot, especially in the summer, to let the trash ferment in the garage. -
Bobcats huh? We have a lot of alligators around this neck of the woods:) Has anyone every though of using a wheel lock on your trailer?......the type that they use in Europe to stop a vehicle from leaving when they've illegaly parked. Something like this: http://www.universalboot.com/products/boot1.html

Lance drove the nail right in with one swing of the hammer. I employ the same method and the only times that I cannot cut with a hover is when you're up against walls, garage doors or pavers standing on edge (around flower beds and such).

Rousec, If you are referring to the 'newbie' which apears under you name then that is determined by the amount of posts you make on this site.

Degree of deviation from pressure washing?
Washaway replied to Tronman's question in Residential Pressure Washing
There have been times (in the past past past) when I've accepted the so called "handyman" projects. I do not deviate from PW at all anymore. I specialize in what I do and I am very good at it. Period. If I'm having a slow week or month then I'd rather spend my down time marketing and reeling in new accounts instead of painting or putting up a fence.
