  1. Good laugh.

Very good, I like that. I think I will stick that in my vocabulary bag of tricks. Shannon
  2. Missing Bill Clinton

The republicans better start looking for someone strong to run against her. She has the potential to win...God forbid! I also hope the republicans start acting like the conservitives that the lib's say they are. Michael, you are so right, alot of americans are in an MTV, American Idol, The Simple Life, etc. induced coma. It's really sad when Leno or Letterman go to the streets and ask people who are the leaders in our government and they just stare blankly, but ask them what the people on fear factor had to eat and they're all over it. Go figure!
  3. New PW Org Poll

I vote yes. But what else would this org. do directly for our fee to help our business?
  4. whats the difference

Pressure reels are alot stronger in the spool (the part where the hose wraps)because of the crush force of the hi pressure hose when under pressure. I also have had no problems unrolling only the hose I need and leaving the rest on the reel. Shannon
  5. Looking for unbiased equipment opinions ?

I bought Delco and will again when the time comes They treated me VERY well. Like Richard said above put it togather yourself, if you have mechanical skills. It will save you labor and shipping(the thing that alot of people forget to figure in) on the unit and you can pick your trailer size and all that kinda stuff. Later, Shannon
  6. Sex joke (got your attention?)

That was good! Made me laugh loud.
  7. How many jobs did you get in the first couple of months of starting up?

Make sure that you have money set aside for bills till you get those jobs. I started last year and have gotten a few accounts and get work from ads. I also have another business other than P.W.ing so that helps when things get skinny. In other words don't quite your day job until you can replace the income, or go part time. Also if you're buying used equipment make sure that you have some repair money for that fine unit that "always had the oil changed" or "I never ran the pump dry". Jon is right, hot water is the way to go. I do alot of concrete and couldn't imagine doing it with cold. Work hard at networking with friends and local businesses no matter what their business is, one of my best accounts came because of a friend(carpenter) who gave one of my cards to a friend of his(an electrician) who happened to be looking someone that could clean up his dad's commercial property. Moral: pass those cards out like candy. Good luck. P.S. I am also new to this bbs and have found it to be a wealth of information and some good humor. Thanks Beth and Rod Shannon
  8. Part-Timers....what is your day job?

I sell chewing gum to people at mini malls and around store fronts in my service area!!! I have a landscape design and consultation business and operate equipment for a couple contractors digging pools and grading. That all keeps me busy.
  9. The Donkey

Good one! If more people took responsability there would be alot less trouble in this world. In a past life when I was a supervisor for a construction co. we had a lot of people trying to cover up their screw-ups instead of just coping to it and fixing it or finding a solution.
  10. Higher Learning or not?

High school, some college and trade school for A/C as well as just having to do alot of different things for the last couple of employers. Can't knock anyone that works at bettering themselves, whether through higher education or working hard to become an expert in thier field of endevor.
  11. Why did the Chicken cross the road?

If you look to the left of mail box in the trees there appears to be a shadowy figure...could it be "The Colonel"
  12. Flu Shots

My e-wife's company sponsored flu shots for the employees and she always got a shot but most of the time ended up getting sick. I never got them and seem to do fine. Go figure. Jon, Good question, who really knows what is in there ????
  13. Where in the World??

Fallbrook, CA. That's north San Diego county.
  14. A poll for lurkers...

My name is Shannon and I'm a lurker. It started with just one lurk, then I couldn't help myself....oh sorry, wrong forum. I am a newbie to this forum, and it is ture that I lurk alot but it's mainly to get a feel for the way things work around here. Kinda learn the ropes so to speak. I will post and contribute my opinions,(my wife assures me I have enough to go around).
