I was locked up last year and this year and have given several hundreds of dollars. It is definately a good cause.

QC coupler exploded-the results
PWkid replied to Chris S's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I run all K-7 flow unloaders and have had sockets blow apart on me several times. The chemical makes them weak. I will say I have never had a Hansen SS qc blow apart only when I feel cheap and buy china made. -
Elecric hose reels are well worth the money. I have three of them. I use grey r-2 gates hose. When you drag them on concrete they wear out quick.

That post had nothing to do with RON. Am I still confused? -

Ok I just went back through the posts and am so confused. Ron is upset with what I wrote or with Scott or Mike or Rod or Beth. I have a signature and always have had one. -
Just goes to show what Florida is about......$$$$$ Gary what is FLORIDA about?

Rod, I stand up and applaud you. Excellant post. Sometimes things come across differently when typing instead of speaking. I know I do it all the time. I respect each and every member here I don't always agree but that is why we live in America. Arguments or disagreements are good sometimes to keep us in check. There are several reasons I use sodium hypochlorite v/s sodium hydroxide on roofs. We have discussed them in depth here this issue keeps coming up. IMHO I think people push sodium hydroxide because it can be bottled as a roof cleaner and be SOLD. There is a lot of money to be made. The reason I say this is because I have made my own recipe I know how much it costs and the mark up ( can anyone say jewelry stores). Obviously both systems work or people wouldn't use either of them. I simply choose a cheaper and more efficient manner of cleaning roofs. The Florida market as far as pressure cleaning goes is a crazy one. We have several cleaners in my area that work for beer money. I know for a fact some are happy to make $100. a day. I have a business to run and I can sit home and break even. These comments are for my area only (so I am not misunderstood.) Ron is an experienced cleaner and is well respected I just question his method of relaying his knowledge to other members not as experienced. I have read other posts he has made in the past he comes across very arrogant and that his SH** doesn't stink. -

Mike you can't argue with arrogance. He has his own bbs, successful company, pwna member,24 years in the industry. What possibly could he learn from TGS. -

Sodium hydroxide v/s sodium hypochlorite Ron you will be disapointed on the results. The longevity of roofing material between both, well HUH . I really have to go right now Friday is DATE night with my wife I would much rather spend it with her. This will be continued and I am not talking about ARMA this is about experience. Ron I Don't have 24 YRS like you do and I know you are the PWing GO TO GUY. -

Hello Ron,I was and still am a Paramedic. We were taught the PH scale around the second or third day of class. Ron I am not sure why you come to these boards because obviously you know more than any other PW contractor and have nothing to learn. I learned along time ago when you stop learning its time to move on. I also worked for a chemical company back in the day and understand chemicals very well. Ron there is more to a chemical than just its ph level. -

HUH! Beth, sodium hydroxide IS the main ingredient. HENRY BOCKMAN is teaching the ROOF cleaning section sponsored by the PWNA am I not correct? HENRY is the Owner of SUNBRITE SUPPLY well maybe not on PAPER but he is affiliated am I not correct? Beth do you see my point. -

OH SWEET MOSES! I have ONE WORD............ UNBELIEVABLE. I just read these posts. Then I went to sunbrite's supply website Who I THOUGHT SOMEBODY else OWNED. This is the ROOF CLEANER they SELL. This kit makes 55 gallons of concentrate, which is enough to clean about 20 average asphalt or tile roofs when used with cold water machines, and even more when used with a hot water machine. The formula is balanced to be strong enough to attack roof algae and stains while being as gentle as possible on the surface. Cleans roofs with gentle agitation and low pressure. Rinses free at any temperature. Contains sodium hydroxide. USDA approved. COSTS LESS THAN $5 PER ROOF TO USE! 94443$128. USDA APPROVED : WHEN in The HELL did the USDA get into roof cleaning!!!!!!! UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT of AGRICULTURE. I can't figure out WHY THE USDA would APPROVE a DEGREASER TO CLEAN ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOFS. I think I might have to make a phone call to the USDA. I am not sure WTF is going on with the PWNA but if HENRY is promoting Sodium Hydroxide and TEACHING this in his ( so called roof cleaning CLASSES) I have WASTED another $ 195.00 on the PWNA. -
Have You Ever Heard This
PWkid replied to PRESSURE PACKED's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I run in to it all the time. I'll show the customer the mold on their house and they say no just the roof. Then I know they have a wal-mart 2500 psi special but they can't or don't want to do the roof. I don't have the same run-off problem that your having if the chemical is running onto the house or soffitt they have bigger problems. When I rinse the roof it takes care of any mess from the cleaning. -
I downstream 12% and surfactant and they fly for a sceond then fall to the ground.I think sodium hypochlorite burns them but they don't bother me after that.

If I am cleaning concrete I will pull it off.

Actually Mike on my 8.5 gpm cold water I use a 2-3 gpm and it pulls a lot more chem when I need it. It was an experiment that worked out very well. I checked my head pressure with a gauge and while I was injecting it read 3000 psi. It really sucked the chem lol no pun intended.
-
Russ Johnson is da man!
-
All chem injectors create back pressure I would think so anyway. When you try to push water through a tiny hole thats what creates the venturi effect.I notice flow drop but not too much pressure drop. Michael I am not sure why your machine isn't drawing chems all I know is that I use a 3-5 gpm injector for my machines and it draws chem through 300 ft of hose. I am not a physics major but I do have experience I can tell you what works but not why. lol There are some very smart people on here they might be able to explain it.
-
Rod I appologize, I read my post and it sounded to me like I was being a smart arse. I wasn't I was just saying that with the right equipment you can pull chemical farther than what manufacturers tell people. When I responded to Jeff I relayed my gpm which once again is 9.3 @ 8.5 gpm. I also in another thread I mentioned that with a smaller injector than what the machines gpm is rated for you can pull chemical farther.
-
Rod that is not a true statement.I pull chem on both of my machines with 300 ft of hose everyday.
-
Jeff I run a 9.3 gpm and a 8.5. I use 3/8 hose and haven't had noticeable problems. I know rule of thumb is 100 psi per 100 ft of hose. On my hot water set-up if I run water through my coil I lose a few more hundred psi because of the around 200 ft of coil its going through so I put quick connects on each inlet and outlet and run a jumper so I can bypass my coil when not using Hot Water.

Why walk to the trailer to switch tips. I carry the tips that I think I'll need in my pocket. Just my .02 cent worth
