Decks designed around trees.
Adrian replied to Adrian's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Where I live, the lifestyles are based around "greenbelts" and wooded areas ( or the illusion of). For example, This job was in the Woodlands. It's an entire city based around Living in the woods. Where I live, "Kingwood" it is based the same way. Most business complexes are surrounded by woods and seperated by woods. The down side is during hurricane season. ( which is almost officially over). -
18 hp Briggs V twin problems
Adrian replied to Daniel H's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
You might be right about the unloader. See if you can corner Russ at Southside Equipment. He can walk you through it and see if that is the problem. If it is the problem he can get you a new unloader as well. He help me get my Briggs running like a dream. He really knows his stuff. -
Just spit on it and it will come clean........ Kidding......

Decks designed around trees.
Adrian replied to Adrian's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Thx all. I always wrap the tree trunks with shrink wrap instead of painters plastic. Then just slit it up the middle with a razor when I'm done, and throw it in the trash. 8 hrs. total wk time on this one over 2 days. A little sanding was needed on the handrails and a few flower pot stains. But overall was a fun fun project. The customer swore I could not get it to it new state. Plus I didn't get a drop of stain anywhere on any of the concrete surrounding the deck. Lots of plastic and water. I really don't like scrubbing stain out of concrete. I wish they were all like this one. In and out, cut and dried. -
It's all the same to me. Dryvit, Stucco, E.I.F.S. I just spit on it as I walked by and it came clean. ( naw I'm just kidding, but it sounded like a Chuck Norris saying) 12% and Prosource soap. Works like a dream.

I saw him over the Summer for a brief visit. He's still doing wood and computer stuff. It was a short visit. -
Waiting for Cedar fence to dry
Adrian replied to Mountain View's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
The only way to know is to do a test area, like I said. I am willing to bet that it will soak in just fine and you will be able to knock it out. -
My first low pressure wood job.

Yes, you can let the ox sit longer. -
Waiting for Cedar fence to dry
Adrian replied to Mountain View's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Since it is newer wood, it will take a bit longer to dry. It is not breathing as much as older wood. Do a test area, and see if it takes. -

Rust color stains from battery acid
Adrian replied to Oxfordlawn's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Why sneak, just tell them you have to do a test area and let them watch. Then turn it into an entire driveway cleaning. ( Hopefully) You might get it, you might not, but at least you have their attention to try the upsell. -
One of my recent resi washes declined the flatwork wash even after the free demo. Yet she is willing to leave it in it's current state. Why? I think the demo turned out fine. Maybe I am wrong.

Resi wash, but turned down flatwork.
Adrian replied to Adrian's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Dan, my house wash mix streaked the driveway and I didn't like the streaks. So I took a couple of extra minutes to get rid of the streaks and called it a demo. She may still want it cleaned at a later date, but not for the price I offered her while I was there. It's all good, and she was very happy nonetheless. I just can't get around whatever mindset she was in. I know if it was my house and a contractor did that for me, I would definately say, fininsh the rest. I love it. But maybe it was funds or something like that. I certainly understand the budget factor. -

Rod, everything's big in Texas. ( especially the massacres lol ... sorry ) I really thought she would go for it, but what can I tell ya man? My housewash mix did a number on that area anyways. So I was happy to get rid of the streaks. I always do the walks and front entry with a resi wash. Just seems to be the right thing to do ( for me anyways). It is just odd to me that she is comfortable with that look. I even lifted the oil spot from her car ( which there is just a hint of a shadow). -

It's funny to me Rick. Some people flaunt it and some don't. I have read the millionare next door. Most millionare's ( or alot) don't flaunt it and drive modest cars and live in modest homes. but it goes both ways I guess.
