Staining a pergola with a vine
Adrian replied to deedub's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I 've run into this alot. It's almost impossible to "unravel" the vine without "some" damage. The customer has to know that and it is within their understanding that you are not liable in any way shape or form. Also it is simply impossible to unravel even al ittle, and, not get any stain on the vine. So it would be more prudent to have them let you prune the vine in advance in such a way that it has as little exposure to the stain as possible. It's either that or avoid that area altogether, because you don't want to get a callback to replace it, or start an insurance claim. Pruning it , is not killing it, and is being proactive to protecting it in the long run. -
Who still bangs the physical labor part of your business over 50yrs of age??
Adrian replied to John T's question in The Club House
So what is it's main application? Airport runways, parking garage ( seems too high), parking lots. Bet it cost a pretty penny. -
Who still bangs the physical labor part of your business over 50yrs of age??
Adrian replied to John T's question in The Club House
So what is the zamboni looking vehicle, John? Alexy, you nailed it !!!! Being 50 plus and still being this physical is a plus with the curse. Staying in shape, .......... longer to heal. -
An untrue fact actually. You can get a higher concentration of SH from a dedicated roof pump. Xjet will always cut down the strength of the SH because of the water that draws it. That's fact..... You will never get full strength of SH from xjet.
-
Xjet closet. That's funny man. It will get you through a roof or two. But you can get a dedicated pump with higher concentrations that work faster if your volume picks up. Just depends how fast you wanna go. Heck I have used my deckster for roof cleaning. Not recomended but doable.

Yep that was meeeeeee!!!!!! Carol Alt, wow that adds some weight to the clientele list. ok .... back on topic..... Cindy's rump..... I mean, yeah the xjet is great. I love mine!!

New rip off-- Prop managing Co's want us to pay to stay on their list.
Adrian replied to John T's question in The Club House
John, in my expieriences, "Pay to Play" has always been around. It is just rising to the surface a bit more nowadays as every single penny counts in a company's budget. ( or they are beefing up their petty cash fund for employee bonus') In order to play onstage at the whiskey-a-go-go in LAX, you have to pay, then sell your tickets. Seems STUPID sometimes as it can literally break a service company's account ( or a band's travel expenses budget, and I speak from experience). What you describe is similar to being "exclusive" in the national contractors directory. Pay to play. To me, a service contract would be more viable though as you "lock" into sustaining future work with that firm. I want to know when we are all going to start charging for estimates? This "Free" crap is for the birds man. We have to offset these expenses somehow. There truely is a measurable amount of loss when doing 10 estimates a week for free. Granted there is a return, and it would be nice to land them all. That's not always the case. Expensing the estimates is cool but leaves little in your pocket. It has been pounded into our heads (by the man) since we were children that money makes the world go round. To an operational degree that is somewhat true. However that has also trained people to be money mongers and implement stupid surchrges of every sort. Just think in terms of extra baggage that has to be c hecked for a fee. What's next, the air we breathe? -
ok, you got me John, I have been talking about my xjet all these years, but it was really code about Cindy's rump. Busted!!!!!!!!

Been saying it for years, just didn't know anyone were reading my post'. ( snicker)

Who needs a vacation and where are you going this summer?
Adrian replied to John T's question in The Club House
LOL. I hear their coffee can be found no where else in the world. Maybe I will catch one of them on an "open mic" night. -

90+ plus degrees and wet towel humidity .
Adrian replied to MidwestMaintenancellc's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Try some Bakers. I have had really good results in constant moist environments. We are constantly at 85% humidity or higher in 95 plus degree temps. Granted it should be applied twice initially, but maintainence is basically the same as RS. -
"Hovering" today in a 1948 Fully Restored Steadman Open CockPit Bi-Plane
Adrian replied to alvisishere's question in The Club House
Cool Al, It's actually a Stearman Bi. Nice resto he has. Sounds like a great customer, to let you fly with stick vs. yoke. I know that words really don't do the experience justice. Bi planes are a different world altogether. The feeling never leaves and once you get the "fever" you will own or build your own someday. -
Happy Birthday.

California and indigenous Redwood in the news.
Adrian replied to RPetry's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I wasn't around in the early 1900's ( despite what some say). Kerosene and deisel were used to preserve wood fences and the like. Even tar and "white wash" ( which I believe is just white paint to veneer the wood). -
Hey 'los. how are ya?

That's good news. Glad it wasn't the gout man. That means old age is creeping up fast. I wonder if we could install a "show us your injury" category in the directory. It could possibly "thin the herd" of newborns or show the potential for injury. Yay Pain !!!!!! ( Hey Maybe we could call it Yay Pain !!!!! )

Yea I know you been having trouble with your foot besides that. All I can say , and this will really help......... "Feels better when it quits hurtin' " Yay Pain !!!!!
