  1. hows that.

Honestly, people want to know WHO ( not what company) they are talking to and sharing this valuable info.

There are also many noobs that come here with a troll agenda and start bashing when they don't get the answer they want , handed to them (without researching)right away.

Celeste makes a good point about the lawnmower.

Plus , we still don't know who we are talking to.

You do have a name don't you?

  2. This one is for you this week Rod.

I know you still grab the sticks from time to time and scratch the skins, well, you know......

Me and my bros from Austin with our Queensryche meets Rush style.

... and believe it or not..... there really is a glockenspeil section in this

    Offended Homeless original.

Crank it up as loud as you can!!!!!!

  3. Hi, I just started doing some pw on the side earlier this summer. I got alot or my stuff from Pressure Tek. Nice folks. I am using Simple cherry and f13 and some 10.5% chlorine from a pool supply for washing houses. I was using the downstream thing on my pwer. The other day i checked it and it is only putting out about 1 to 20 ratio. I bought another one from PT and put quick connects on it and it puts out maybe 1 to 15. It was a 2-3 gpm and my pw is a 4 though. How do yall guys that ds get it on strong enough?

We like to know who we are talking to.

Also, the questions you asked in your initial post covers a BROAD spectrum of answers. Try using the search function. Alot of the vets here are more than willing to help you, with the assurance that you have already done some research.

    Again, welcome to TGS.

You might look into insurance coverage as well, if not already covered.

It's a good move for even part timers or on the side operations.

  4. Research xjet or Downstreaming setup.

Unless you like scaffolding and ladders.

Your mix should consist of 12% Sodium Hypochlorite, Soap( as surfactant ) and water to top it off. Some add Simple Cherry, and other boosters.

If you are going to do resi cleaning. You really need to research xjet, DS, and overall approach to the process. Your 2550 sq ft. resi should take under 2 hours to wash completely the correct way.

  5. What is the psi and gpm of the Deckster?Glad to hear that you got that thing working good Adrian.Good pictures guys.

I can bump it up to 250psi at 2.5gpm. But I rarely go above 50psi.

I thought it might be on its way out the door at one point.

A couple of tweeks and some pacification from Tracy, got more life out of this thing.

I'm shooting for 2 more seasons if not more out of it.

It has paid for itself 100 times over.

  6. I would like to share my own personal experience with you as a business owner of 20+ years and seven in this industry. The machine is inconsequential if your phone is not ringing. My company does a decent amount of wood and most of the machines we use are cold water 4 gpm machines. You can buy a brand new one of those for $1500. What to do with the savings. Make your phone ring via a website, direct mail campaigns and aggressive marketing.

If I could be so bold as to recommend your first business investment that will cost you less than $20 and should serve as your bible. Its a book called E-Myth by Michael Gerber.

    Right on!!

But what you said really makes you sound like an old person. LOL.

  7. Adrian ,

You are 100% right, did not notice that. I have looked on Cragslist and E-bay for a starter rig but not sure spending 3K to get someone else's problem is a great idea in my current state of mind. Happy to take something some out grew as a starting point if possible. Will keep looking and learning. Thank you for the advice.

    Dan

Caution is never a bad thing.

I have bought new and used. Either way, the rig you showed us would be a great commercial rig. Not so great for wood.

Best advice I can give you is listen to what Ken and some of the other vets have said in the past about FAQ's like yours. That is very valuable info that can save you alot of headaches. Divert the saved funds towards getting your name out there.

Having the right equipment to start with saves alot of time on the learning curve as well.

  8. it took me 1 hr to do what i listed above the whole thing. including some lattice which was really easy to do.

how do you guys do your pricing? how much do you charge per spindle to pressure wash & stain? also the rails how much to pressure wash and stain?

  9. I don't use the original spraygun. I have been through a couple of those.

They don't hold up to caustic that well.

Shane set me up with a 5 footer wand a couple of years ago. It's the best one I have ever used. It holds up to the chems very well. I have a variable degree cone tip on the end.

I have been using air hose from Tractor supply. Yep!!! Air hose. The 50 footers. 10.00 each and they have lasted 18 months so far. They hold up better than the hose that came with it. IMO. Attach a couple of those together and the deckster stays put most of the time.

But last year the winds put alot of wood on hold, unless you are a brush and pad junkie.

I am really thinking about the hurricane brush.

That's a cool Ready Seal T-Shirt by the way.

How can one score one of those?
