  1. To me, it seems like the Kingpins are Carlos in the west, ********** in Southwest, K. Fenner up North as well as Beth & Rod for Northern King ( & queenpins), in the East there is Lecours and Celeste who rule the kingdom. I certainly have learned alot from their post' over the years. As far as the Gulf east region goes, Russ in Alabama, I consider the same.

Doolittle ruled ATL when he was in biz, and have yet to see anyone with his knowledge fill those shoes. There's also Cujo, and Alan that where a crown.

I always like to be considered anally professional but certainly not a Kingpin. ( Not yet anyways). But I have helped many get started in this biz with what I have picked up from the bbs. I will own H-town in the future and hopefully acquire the brass buttons that those I speak of have. I am in a position now to take on help as my name grows around here but I refuse to do that until I get so backlogged that I can't keep up. But it is because of this board. I have work with folks that claim themselves as a 15-20 yr. vets that have yet to match my professionalism and skill with less than 6 yrs. I have seen 30 yr. painting vets that think they know all there is to know about PW, but yet it takes them 3 men and a day and a half to to clean a single ranch style. Jeez..... to my 45 minutes and just under 6 yrs. So it just goes to show the variety of "Pros" and difference in time taken to learn the trade. Differnt goals I guess. But yes I want to be the best at what I do and to be sought out, as one of the best, which is starting to happen this season.

I just don't know if one can make a living in consulting.

Who really would decide which contractors are the best anyways, other than our own personal takes on them?

    Sorry to babble, no sleep.

I love my deck- jet and x-ster

    ......what?

  2. Seemed like a nice guy to me and genuine about the job. We never talked budget though.

He may take the DIY approach if no one steps up.

I just have a feeling that I wouldn't even break even on this one. Simply too far. Can't be in Austin and H-town at once. Wish I knew more people or had a transporter. I'd be rich. Got shut down on a deck spray and gutter / chimney project because of wind today.

I know..... don't be lazy and grab a brush right. Maybe someone will chime in from that area and help the guy out. We've done all we can, unless you happen to have a transporter.

    Take care bro.

  3. The build on my helicopter is going so so,... ugh, the cabin is almost finished and looking good. But it is taking it's toll on my brain. A million moving parts ect.

So during the build of the real thing and a few other scale project builds ( things that go crash), I picked up this little Slo V with 370 electric, just to get my head in the clouds and off of the helicopter for a while.

It's pretty fun, and I am ordering the bomb / parachute aerial drop module for it so I can drop things on people's heads. (kidding).

I have been pretty busy with PW and staining too, so don't think I am playing all day. The day ends at 1:00 right?

    Watch the video.

  4. it really depends on what you are cleaning off of the concrete.

There are different applications for different types of cleaning. No 1 chem is a do all clean all.

For general cleaning, sh12% soap type mix is most common for molds and algaes.Among others.

    Most would say.

Most important..... do you have a surface cleaner for cleaning concrete.

  5. "D", you will have overspray with just about any sprayer. Sometimes it pays to take a little extra time to tarp areas prone to overspray. I think we all end up with a roll or two of poly plastic in the beds of our trucks for that reason.

I started with a wagner and ran a lomger hose directly into the 5er's of RS. Worked great and still will!!!! Then I purchased a Deckster. The dif is like night and day. BUT get a varible degree cone tip instead of the fans. Much better in my opinion.

    Deckster, Titan, are all great.

Take a 15 ft clear poly hose and attach it to the wagner and do any with the little cup. Then draw straight from the 5er. Probably only cost 5.00 find out.

Once you start getting slammed with deck work you will want a Deckster or Titan.

By the way, the guys at Sun Brite are super. I dealt with them in person for several years. Get with Tracy. He wrote the book.
