  1. Looks GREAT Mike!

Aren't you glad the customers know the industry better than us when they say something like that. Or they seem to know whether it's an easy job or not. If it were easy they wouldn't be calling us.

Gutters look great and so does that deck.

I would be expecting another call from them though on the deck after they try and restain it themselves. DIY's usu. try...... botch it up........ then call back screaming heeellllp and try to blame the husband or the wife for not calling you in the first place. lol.

    Great work though as usual.

  2. mixed in 6 gal. xjet rig is

1 gal. 12.5 + 1/3 gal pro source ind. dishwashing liquid + top off to 6 gal h2o.

This mix has worked much better for me this Summer vs. last Summer's effort with Cascade. It does not dry fast at all, I have soaked complete 2 story's all the way around without it drying on me and it has cut my time alot.

Tone down the 12% a bit and use it for deckwashes as well.

It works great and I pick it up at Sam's for 4.00 a gal. or by the case.

It also cuts the smell of the 12%

  3. Yep same problem, and I know who you are referring to.

Their explaination made sense and now they are going to push their liquid stripper even harder. The problem has been with their distributer and order fulfillment, causing them to loose sales revenue due to lengthly transportation and logistical issues that seem to be interdepartmental at the source.

WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN? YOU BETTER CALL ME MR. OR I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN WITH MY NEW DECKSTER AND GIVE YOU A HOSING.

Seriously, look me up. Haven't heard from you all Summer. Thought you were dead or something. Or bow hunting for a reeeeeeeeal long time.

The Tank is fully stocked now and I need some new lures.

  4. AC guy said we were still in Vietnam. No, we left about 30 some years ago and left them to their own devices.

No we did not!!! We may have pulled out the majority of our fighting troops, ground and air support. But, we are still in the areas, with US embassy and outpost' and bases, and airfields as with most countries we have been to war with or have been peace keepers with.

    http://vietnam.usembassy.gov/

with that embassy there are troops assigned, they live at a military base and have guns and bullets and all kind of things that make big explosions for the protection of the citizens and our interest' of that country not 30 years ago but today.

Our presence has also kept a sense of peace and have created a pretty nice tourist economy for the area.

30 years I will agree with, that we pulled out the majority of our troops.

... but that we pulled out entirely.....NO (just like you said) nope, not true, no matter how convincing your statement might read or how right you like to make yourself sound on this point. It's just not true..... we always have US interest' to protect in other countries because we have our hands in so much of the world peace mix.

  5. I love my xjet

    I love my Deckster

    I LOVE MY COUNTRY

Everyone has great points in my opinion on both sides.

I support our troops and am greatful for them. I do wish they were close to coming home, but, there will be us military bases over there for decades to come.......just like Viet Nam.

I support our President's (slow moving) processes to some degree.

The truth of the matter is that he could have just really gone full scale defcon, apocalyptic, since we DO have nukes (WMD) and taken out the "THREAT".

I actually respect the reserve he has shown in not taking them to school!!!

At least we are better for that. He has also shown some great cahounas by keeping his hand off of the "switch".

..........as I reflect on Charleton Heston's famous last words on the planet of the apes.

  6. Hey Jeff,

you are more than welcome to use any of the pics I have posted on TGS gallery. I have put a few of each type of work on there i'm sure. Just let me know when you post your site so I can take a look at it.

    ........ I Love my XJET...........and now

    ......... I love my deckster........woohoo bring it!!!!!

  7. I got really lucky with 2 of them.

1 HOA is run by the prez who is the drummer in my band.

1 Hoa is the vprez who is also my #1 guy I sub from for all his prep for painting.

1 Simply called me from my yellow pages add and I sold myself from there.

Most bi-laws ( from what I am learning) required H.O.'s to maintain their property at a certain level or face a fine. That works in your favor.

From there I have ran ads in their HOA newsletters. It has paid off well so far ( for a 1 man op anyway). very cheap.... about 40.00-50.00 for ad.

Also drive the subdivisions you want to work at and look for main office and target them that way. Cold call. Get names. Puff your feathers a bit as well.

Do searches in your areas and then solicite them with your company profile.

    Get ph#'s and emails.

Scroll throught he yellow pages and target them as well.

For every 10 or so you may get 1.

That's how I have been doing it ..... a little luck helped in this case.

  8. Yeah, me too, Ditto what Jeff said. Hard to add anything to that note of encouragment, but my info is there if anyone needs help as well.

Pay it forward , all that good stuff. What you learn here is shaping the industry. Ask away and it will all come together for you. Work hard, don't give up or compromise your business plan, get insurance, and let your brain be sponge when you are on this site.

    ...... I love my XJET

  9. If you have never seen a night time re-entry of the space shulttle, keep dibs, it is the coolest light show you will ever see. Orange fire literally across the whole continent. I saw a night time re-entry in Texas (Austin) at 22:00 pm. Saw it break through the atmosphere. It only took about 5 seconds to completely go across the horizon. Went back inside and in 2 minutes later I was watching the landing on tv.

I saw a night time Apollo launch when I was a kid and still have dreams about it to this day. Certain things just stick in the old noodle. Space exploration and the NASA program kick butt!!!
