Yep, I have had a lot of fun with it, and he has taken the teasing well. His brother is 18 and actually took off work, since he does not work for me, so that he could take him. Of course, the younger son does think I am taking him to the midnite movie. That ain't happening.

It all depends on what I am cooking. I will use gas with wood chips if I want a wood flavor. Sometimes, it is just gas, because that is what my wife prefers. When I am smoking something, I will use briquettes and wood.

Ron and I have bumped heads occasionally, and often it will go something like this. "Ron (or Scott), I got one of your accounts today." "Damn, (Ron) Dang (If it is me) which one?" "Wallys wonder world restaurant" "they pay good" or "they pay bad, you will want to watch them." "anything else I should know?" "Yeah, watch out for this, or that, and you can upsell x pretty easily." "Thanks, and sorry about that" The secret is, that we do not intentionally target each others accounts, or even each others markets. We just, occasionally, run across an account that the other has. In all honesty, I run across his more than he does mine, because he has more rigs on the road. But then, we also call each other with questions, of how do you do this, or that. It all works out. I also give his guys my business card, because he gives them $50 every time they bring him a competitors card. :D

There has been a recent spate of people resigning as moderators on both TGS and ***. I am not going to air the dirty laundry from *** here, but there are many things that apply to both boards. Late last week Beth banned Chris from Apple. Chris stepped a little over the line in his posts, but was not the first person that went negative. As often happens, multiple people starting bombarding Beth that Chris was out of line and she saw the post of Chris, and banned him. I sent her a PM to look at the total thread. After review, she did what I felt was appropriate, because she saw the same thing that I did. I know that many people have personal opinions on how some contractors do their specialty, and many of them are personal bias because either they do not agree with the methods, or think that someone elses equipment is overkill and unnecessary. In the future, I would invite you, if you disagree with another contractor, that instead of going personal, you do the professional thing, and give what you would do as an alternative. That is just my view.

Since I work all hours, I try and sleep during the day, without much success. When I am on a night binge, I typically will sleep about 4 or 5 hours after I am done working, wake up, answer calls, and run business, sleep 3 hours or so, and go back to work. It can hammer you. My wife does make my life a lot easier when I am on a night binge, by making sure things stay quiet.

There are so many ways to look at this it is silly. In my opinion, you can make an easy $400 a month, shoot, you can make $400 a week. IMO, if you are not making $400 a week part time, you should start looking at what you are doing, and improve it. What you really need to do is figure out how much you need to make, remain competitive, and to charge market prices. Remember that your market may be different than everyone else.
